Why is Ohio fire departments so far behind in everything? Seems like everything that they say is new is actually like 2 cycles old to everybody else in the country.
My department is getting this later this year, it's nothing new but like you need managements buy in and the city to fund it, we got allocated $100k for 3 stations. I"m looking forward to it, getting jarred out of sound sleep (when you get any) sucks, your heart gets jump started and it sucks. Getting up multiple times a night for bullshit medicals sucks too and I can't wait to retire.
My department got rid of those for 24's, I'm way better rested now on 24's, no full weekends, 2 days of commuting. We do the 1/2/1/4 rotation and it's great.
Most of the time during the night we don't use sirens, just the lights. But that varies depending on traffic/amount of people on the roads during the night.
The Mercedes logo on the front of the Sutphen is hilarious
I missed that! That is funny.
I caught that too. The only other competing funny thing would be if they put a Pierce logo on the Sutphen.
@@darrens.4322 probably were hoping it would stay out of the shop if it were a pierce
There have been systems out like this for years. This is nothing new.
New to them.
@@Keystone75 New to them doesn't make it "new fire response technology".

Separate fire and EMS doesn’t have that problem.

Seems like even with that the truck sirens would wake up

My station had this yearrrrrrs ago. For $600k I'll sell you a beach house in Nevada. That stuff doesn't cost close to that.
Like everywhere else in the World 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏼♂️
Welcome to the 21th Century Columbus 💁🏼♂️
So it also means that the Medics should get PAID MORE for responding than other firefighters who respond less?
They do get paid more. Get paid for having the paramedic certification over the EMT and for being assigned to the boo boo wagon.
This is nothing new, in fact your city Is WAY behind on the times.
24 years ago I stopped working in EMS. This was in the station then already.
