Did you know one of the first games I played on my channel was Contra for NES? That was... almost 12 years ago. I've been doing these videos for a while. Next up: Hades 2.
I adore how some permutation of Big Bot Gordea is series tradition at this point: I just think it’s awesome that anything makes it a POINT to fight you on, near, or using a train as a weapon
You should play a game called Nine Sols. It's actually a good, challenging game that seems right up your ally and would be fun to do a no damage run for.
I love these videos but I do hope Gellot takes some time after these minimal gear boss runs to play again and use all the gear because all this death by 1000 cuts thing seems rough.
Big Bot Gordea looks familiar, isn't that the one boss from the original game that would just jump around and kick the air, I remember the boss not being able to do much except jump in the air (That's right everything up until that lead to the Alien Wars, I really need to play this now)
@@neuronoc.7343 I thought so, it's been ages since I last played Contra, I remember one of the games but I can't pin down a stage that I remember playing, not even sure which one it was anymore it's been that long
Kimkoh ist the hardest boss in my eyes. The green balls come without warning and you need to jump over him multiple times. And those little creatures can be extremly anoying If you don't destroy them fast.
No, Java was the giant xenomorph head you'd find in the OG Contra and Contra 3. Wayforward simply decided to give Java a much-needed glow up, much like they turned Black Viper from some gameboy-exclusive Metroid wannabe to a full-on Godzilla sized xenomorph mantis queen. If Contra 3D (an example of Konami being fucking sellouts) is to be of any indication, Gava will probably be an alien warrior who ends up transforming into the monstrous form we all know of.

Can't say I care for the cheap-plastic-model visual style here (Shattered Soldier and Neo back on the PS2 looked better than this), nor am I a fan of all the inane chit-chat intruding on the Contra gameplay. Ever since Contra 4, it feels like this series has been in a bad place, and has only been getting worse with time.
It's a somewhat half-baked attempt at translating the Contra 4 art style into a 3D style that systems as computingly subpar as the Nintendo Switch can handle. Wayforward could've really done better with the cutscenes though. Even Neo Contra's scenes, as corny as they were, had actual animation.

Did you liked it?
Yeah, I was skeptical after Konami's awful Rogue Corps "Contra", but this one is actually good.
so you just comeback to ur origin after 12 year, now that peak
Could you do VRising on brutal mode ?
@@witherannouncerGame needs released first. Iron meat I mean
Nothing beats letting Wayforward remaking a classic platformer, it's their speciality.
God, your level after all these years still standing. And i love the new contra
You are a person of sheer fucking will and perfect hand eye coordination for this level of play and dedication.
I like how Henriksen keep telling you to bring special weapons into the fight 😂
😂😅😂😅
Unless in Arcade mode, he won't.
Good on ya showing big Lance Bean some love. 👍🏾

Contra is back :D
Mid-boss names in next level:
Level 2 - Armored Trucks
Level 3 - Guldaf Dagra
Level 4 - Spidal
Level 5 - Big Bot Gordea
Level 7 - Metal Alien
Can you tell me where did you get these names from?
"Just look for tweets with the names of these mid-bosses data on official game groups from (prohibited word) site."
"Alas, I can’t post any links or names, because the RUclips bot behaves very aggressively when it sees them."
I see, thank you. I had to disable links in the comments, cause I had too many spam bots before.

Good to know the Contra theme going hard and strong
If you haven't picked it up yet, please pick up Nine Sols

I laughed pretty hard from "We do NOT want to follow this train!"
Well, Rambo's getting into the Metal Slug.

It is, but the new game turned Gordea from some beefed up roid soldier who's 12 feet tall to a robot that acts like Yokozuna from Hard Corps.

Just a tip, but I highly recommend taking a special weapon into battle... In desperate situations, overloading a weapon just might save your life.
Wasn’t Lance Bean a boss in an older Contra title?
He's the OG Player 2 character, but Lance was the antagonist for Shattered Soldier.
@@MrEasyNah meanwhile, this game is a prequel that kicks off the Alien Wars
Man, Contra lore runs deep
This looked difficult because you have to avoid power ups too

No. Gellot doesn’t do that.
This game is METAL as fuck 🤘🤘🤘🤘
man, localization really changed Gava into Java, it feels strange

i only have issues with the last boss... why doesn't it just drop him? or throw him really far away
Do you gonna do Terraria calamity mod in any future sir ❤
I want to, but that's going to be a tremendous task. So for now the answer is... maybe.

I agree the artstyle is so bland, makes them look like toys and the music is so boring. Contra is known for its soundtracks, this one is just generic.

2d games with 3d graphics look so soulless most of the time. I'd rather have 2d sprites.
