    I’m pretty excited to be honest. Me and my son started with a couple of Starter decks and found it so difficult to get our heads around. We love collecting the cards but after playing tcgs like Pokémon, the learning curve was too great. We now play one piece almost exclusively but still collect DBS. If fusion world is as accessible as one piece I believe it will be a winner and I’ll definitely be giving it a go.

    I honestly like the idea of Fusion World to introduce new players to the game and I hope this would allow for a new player base to later grow into Masters Format

      Theyre acting like theyll run both concurrently but i highly doubt theyll keep masters past 2024. Theres no purpose to split your market, and it sucks because og dbs cg is great once u put in the ffort to work on it

    It’s obviously a huge win for the game but the knee jerk reaction by the community is very understandable right now. This is 100% the correct play long term and what’s absolutely best for the game

      Dude the community are always furious and complain about literally everything no matter what anyway. No matter how much they scream into the void, the fact is that Bandai have made the best move to set this game in a better direction that'll attract new players with much less complications and overwhelming information

      I think the same brother! and the best of all is that it will already be released in its homeland Japan! There could be better designs and surprises in FW, maybe even cards signed by the original Japanese actors, that excites me as a collector.

    I agree with you. New game physical and digital simultaneously release and having them interact with each other.
    Imagine buying a starter deck and it having a qr code for a digital version.
    Plus the cards new design looks a bit more clean.

    As somebody who got into the game a year ago, I can't tell you how much the discussion about the gap between veteran and new players rang true. To me, that was a motivator, seeing myself do better and better against the same opponents that they beat me senseless before felt incredibly rewarding...but for example for another friend who got into the game with me it was more frustrating than anything else. Hopefully FW can help mitigate that possible frustration in some way

    I really hope fusion world has enough depth to be playable on its own, I've heard a lot of people say they think it will help introduce players to the masters version but this just sounds like wishful thinking to me. Even as a somewhat seasoned TCG player with an interest in Dragon Ball theres no way I'm investing the time and effort to learn a complex game with a massive card pool, that also seems to have legacy issues with keywords etc.
    I think if Bandai really wanted to revive the game then committing to a full reboot that keeps the core aspects of the previous version with an updated design/keywords would be the best option. I understand existing players would be an angry (and would have every right to be), I just think that is the most realistic option as it is nearly impossible to adopt a significant amount of players into an existing game.

    I gave up on DBTCG since that excessive complexity of cards was really annoing and consumed much more energy then I am willing to spend on card game... But with this new one, seems like it might be worth it at least for now to check out. BUT I really hope they will add some fun new format, like buddy-battle in OPTCG

    Regardless of a card games depth, just getting into a new card game that’s been out for a while is always hard and demoralizing. Pokémon is the only long running card game that you can quit, come back to, and start fresh and it feels like you can actually be relevant without too much investment. I will be getting into this new game, not because it’s simplified, but because I want to get into the game when it’s new and fresh.

    I’m a seasoned TCG veteran, and I’ve been eyeballing Dragonball Super for a year or so hoping for an entry point. I’d really like to play the game, but I’m not going to jump into a game with the only format 30 or so expansions deep. There’s no way I’d catch up for competitive play in a card pool like that.
    What I’ve really been hoping for is a resuscitation of the game via new format. What I’m not looking for is a significantly dumbed down version of the game. Obviously I haven’t played Fusion, so I don’t know specifically that is the case with this new product. If it’s deep and engaging enough for serious competitive play, I’ll still take a look at it, but just skimming the surface, I have major reservations.
    I can tell you they would have had me hooked with a relaunch/new format for Masters though: maybe something like a 300 card core set so the old players didn’t have to buy new cards from core, and a new 150 or so card set launching soon thereafter to satisfy the oldheads’ need for new cards.
    I’m crossing my fingers that Fusion will hit the spot, but I’m highly dubious.

    As someone who is trying to get into FW (never played DBS TCG) I am having an incredibly difficult time.
    There is zero stock. I can't pick up any starter decks except Bardock. Whilst that's cool... I can't buy 2 different ones to trial with a friend.
    I have ZERO interest in an online game.
    I feel like the stock is a huge issue. They can't claim new players are important... If I can't buy into your game through retailer means.
    Disappointed

    I’ll look forward to your interview. I am also in the I have played for 2 formats and even took a break already. I am just coming back but I worry heavily I have wasted time and money because Bandai is now about to split the already dwindling player base by card pool. Even worse? They are expecting stores to then stock both and players to have the funds to do both. Then this doesn’t even fix another issue Masters already has which is some of the price ranges for cards and old staples. So these players they hope will enjoy the game and join Masters for a challenge? Yeah right let’s burn their money expect them to then buy into another card pool and learn the new stuff? I just don’t see it. Maybe I’m being pessimistic but this really seems like they want to kill Masters and make OP with DBS characters.

    • @Gaara11990
      @Gaara11990 Год назад

      Keep in mind I agree wholeheartedly Masters needs something to make it more new player friendly(I am still a few months in and if it wasn’t for my locals group kinda being clear and really being willing to explain things to me and walk step by step through my first month of games I’d have been screwed), a whole other game and burning the players 2x on wallet front is not it.

    We deserved a dragon ball super (MASTERS) game, and it feels like getting the rug pulled,
    Instead we got Fusion... The watered down version of the game where they Actually took alot away from the game because it was "Too hard to Code" ... Biggest lie ever.
    Too many effects to have in the game so we gave them Fusion instead...
    Bandai creating its own competition by dividing up the players,
    and so over time Fusion will be adding "New" things that already exist in Masters...
    Bland/Basic/Watered Down versions of card because "Reading is hard" ... Sigh.
    Should we just make everything Dumbed down because people don't wanna read tho?

  • @brandedwolfen5498

    In my opinion DBS is nothing like Yugioh. If a new player wants to join then they can pick up a starter and learn. It doesn’t matter if they release a new easier card game, the more skilled player who’s been playing dBS will still win most the time.
    I’m unfortunately not looking forward to this new version.

  • @saint3614
    @saint3614 Год назад

    Doesn't this just split the already dwindling player base? It seems like such a bizarre move. This'll split product releases, too. I can't really see how it's a wise move.
    Tbh, it kinda just makes me glad that I never got into DBS seriously, and pivoted to Flesh and Blood early on. Had I invested much into DBS, I'd be pretty furious right now.

    Wow and I thought that Yu Gi Oh was the only one. it also sounds like DBTCCG also needs their own version of Speed Duals or Dual Links if you're talking about digital. And I've been playing Yu Gi Oh since the very beginning, and as for DBTCCG you could forget about me to even temp to try it out from the looks of it. It's really too bad to as I'm always looking for new TCCG to get in to, aside Yu Gi Oh.

    i truly believe whole heartedly that Fusion world is just because they are too lazy to put effort into redesigning this current card game.
    The idea of having no counter windows and essentially dumbing down the play is not for me, i would rather play Uno in the back seat of a car than going from a in depth higher skill level card game into something that has no longevity in a game.
    its great that They are expanding their franchise but this was not the right approach.
    If they focus on changing some key things in the current card game like making formats, where theres only 1 counter window, remove the " Game mechanics " and turn things into skills it would do alot to clean up the current mess the game is in.
    I also believe that to bring new players in they need better prizing and actual useful starter decks with less crap in them. The design of current starter decks giving you maybe 4 new cards that way outshine anything else you get and you typically get some old BT4 cards that have no value or use.
    I look forward to your interview!

    • @itsMARTIKAI
      @itsMARTIKAI Год назад +2

      I dont think it's laziness. Bandai has several cards games to worry about unlike Konami and WOTC. It's a great opportunity to do something that's hasn't been done before on this level with a physical and digital simultaneous release. A lot of the suggestions to get new players in DBS is not going to keep them and adding formats is splitting your fan base that is already shrinking. For me is great to hear bc my locals DBS scene is non existent.

    I find it hilarious that there is a subset of the community that actually thinks that Masters is going to be continued.
    Dragon ball card game will continue but THE current game will not be around.
    This game isn’t that hard to learn. People that say otherwise are stupid or lazy

  • @manofthepeople2165

    If masters doesn't get enough sales, then it will be dead within a year.
    It's a prisoner dilemma situation where if everyone collectively takes a risk by continuing to by masters, then there is a chance that masters will live on.
    If the community collectively thinks, I don't wanna risk spending my hard earned money on a game that will be dead within a year, then it will become a self fulfilling prophecy.

    • @joshbell123
