    This is a weird tornado. EF 4, yet so small, even tiny, and with a small supercell on top. It's almost like someone made a scale model of a tornado and it escaped from his shed.

    This is honestly more impressive than seeing many large tornadoes. With the relatively small size of it, you get a MUCH greater sense of the speed and power of the winds you're likely to experience.

    • @GamingHelp
      @GamingHelp 2 года назад +35

      From personal experience, you don't want to be anywhere near one, even a tiny F0. I've been physically inside an F0 and even being tiny by tornado standards, it was the single loudest thing I've ever heard and the sheer speed at which things went from "what the hell is that?" to ")(*#@$)(*#@$Y" was literally a second or two. If I hadn't been in the big rows of willow trees we have, I have no doubt I wouldn't have fared so well. Even so, the amount of debris was ridiculous. It happened a hell of a lot faster than the movie twister portrays it (Edited: As in, how long it stuck around as it swept over me and to the north north east.), but the flying debris, yeah, that's a thing. Buckets, pieces of trees, plastic lids, pretty much anything and everything you can think off, like having an entire classroom of 10 year olds playing dodgeball against a single person, but with objects. The pressure drop was crazy too. It only lasted for *maybe* a second and a half, but you couldn't mistake it. It was like being in a 70's pickup at a buck twenty down the highway and cracking a window really fast, then whipping it back up a second later. Very surreal experience. Good thing nobody got hurt though, the road was impassible and took us hours to clear the debris away from the damage path. :/

    • @GamingHelp

      @@ms.bunniesarecute2287: That's one good thing about the nature of a tornado though, at least with a bit of work, emergency folks can get to you if you needed it. I think hurricanes would be much much worse that way because even the emergency folks are affected. Man, that must be scary to see such widespread disaster like that. Don't get me wrong, it sucked cleaning up the big trees/building debris/etc from our little tornado we had, but nothing like what you must have experienced!

    • @GamingHelp
      @GamingHelp 2 года назад +6

      Oh, also, if you're fascinated by them, one interesting tidbit that surprised me: The center part wasn't windy hardly at all. At least, not compared to the initial wind shear I experienced. I would call it more like general turbulence in random directions. And loud. VERY VERY loud. But the center part was nothing like I thought it would have been like. Just rapid wind shear one direction, a second or two of ear popping low pressure with sort of random turbulence in random directions with the unbelievable noise, then BAM! wind shear the opposite direction, then it was over. Boy we had a lot of bad weather all at one time during that few years though. I never had fear of that sort of thing before, but after these experiences, I started having nightmares of F5's literally digging me out of our underground shelter (our water pump is in an underground "pit" that we use for shelter). Probably didn't help to see all those pictures of F5's from the U.S. that dig up dirt fields, ripped up concrete and pavement and took homes and cleaved off everything in the basement right down to the concrete surface, even service pipes, etc. Ugh.

      The one in Elie, Manitoba back in 2007 (I think) was similar: skinny rope with a twisty ground pattern, but the wind speed was evident as it touched the town and pulled full houses, in-tact, right off their foundations.

      Funny things with tornadoes the slower the wind seems the faster and dangerous it actually is. I’m surprised he didn’t get picked up and thrown into the air considering it’s an EF4… for most of the twister’s life it was classified as an EF3 but towards its peak the wind speeds indicated those of an EF5!!! It was never classified an EF5 tho cause it barely caused any damage. The EF scale goes off how much damage it did. So I do believe this could be just an EF3 or maybe even EF2

And most tornados that don't kick up tons of crap are so weak that there's not all that much to see at that range that you can't see just as well from a much safer distance, all of which means that high power drillbits like this one encountering people both crazy and skilled enough to get that close, with high quality cameras, AND live to share their footage, is a very rare treat indeed
