    Remarkable...!
As impressive as the space age materials and craftsmanship are on these top of the line spectacles.....if the two rivets leaving the plate on the hinge are not 100%(they are responsible for the only moving part of the whole process) then they fail miserably....color scheme be damned......!

now for all this talk of “high end” is there really any difference between the acetone used in cheap frames and high end frames? or do they just come out of the same factory, except one with a brand logo and the other no?

high end really refers to how much polishing goes into it. the Japanese have better quality control and polish the crap out of it

As someone who has worn glasses for forty five years, I’ve observed that 90% of the frames on sale in North America are made of cheap, lightweight materials (plastic?), most of which are produced in China. Get your hands and/or face on a pair of $300-$400 frames, that are made in Italy or Japan, and I promise you will FEEL the difference.

Do a side by side comparison. If you can’t feel the difference, buy the cheaper one.
