Our name "The Tyko Fam" was inspired by our kids' names, Ty & Kona. As a FAMily, we enjoy spending quality time together, capturing memories as we explore new places. Daddy was born in Iloilo, Philippines, and moved to the US at the age of 11. Mommy (Japanese-Filipina decent), Ty, and Kona were all born and raised in the US until one day, Daddy introduced us to his homeland. After several visits, in 2016, we made the bold move to sell our house in California and start a new life in the Philippines! Sarge joined us in 2021. After a long YT break, we rebooted our small channel in 2022.

Thanks for sharing your trip. I live in Portland and my mom lives in Marysville. I've always wanted to see what an EV trip would be like from PDX to Marysville. I feel like a Tesla or something faster charging like an ioniq 5 might make it a better experience. Marysville is famous for the gold rush days.
Yeah definitely go with something that has a faster charge and a large charging station network, which I think Tesla has more of. Sometimes, the charging stations that we encountered had broken ones, or were all occupied and then you had to wait until it was available 😬. Would love to try a Tesla to see the difference 😉 😀
The shoes will come in handy atleast you can stay warm while pushing the electric car yikers good idea 💡 👍 😀 😉 👌 😄 💡 👍 😀 😉 👌 😄
It was a long trip, so gotta keep those feet warm! 😅
EV trips are very different experience. I had range anxiety when I first started driving my EV. It does take more planning beforehand to figure out charging stations. I love my Tesla because the supercharger network is vast and it basically plans your trip for you. Thanks for sharing your journey. Happy Holidays!
Yeah! It took us a while to get used to it too! But we're glad it worked out for you! We heard Teslas have a better network. It's still a work in progress. But it was an interesting experience 😀
Tesla is the way to go if going EV for sure 😊
Welcome back to CA! we are heading to Tahoe
Hello po 👋😀. Safe travels to Tahoe!
Designer's push very good idea 💡 👏 👍 👌 🤔 😀 💡 👏 👍 👌 🤔
So cool guys! Loved watching your EV adventure and figuring out the charging. 🤗 Yeah, we just drove an EV for the first time recently as well and had to learn everything. One pedal driving, can't go back now... Have a great trip back in the states!
EV no bueno, based on our experience. Petrol is in and out done. We'll for long trips i guess. Not worth the anxiety 😅
Haha! Yeah probably not the best to use for a long road trip. You definitely need patience 😄. I'm sure driving a Tesla would've been a little bit easier. It's the lack of charging stations that really makes the experience annoying. We miss you guys! Hope to see your faces back in BGC again 😀
@@thetykofam Yeah, it's definitely easier w/ a Tesla and a Supercharger. You just plug in and it starts charging right away, since everything like payment is linked to your Tesla app. One thing we had to learn is the time it takes to charge from like 20% to 80% is the same as it takes to go from 80% to 100%. So, we don't even bother and never go beyond 80% to save on time. Miss you fam! Yup, we'll be back in Mabuhay in 2025! BGC meet up for sure!
@BGCDreams Yay! See you back in BGC soon! 👋😀🙌 Happy Holidays fam!
Boots are cool as well 😎 👌 😌 😏 ☺️ 😉 😎 👌 😌 😏
Chilly Walk! 🙌😄
Lol, love it. Can only be done in Oregon
Problem is you have to stand around for to long guard yourselves atleast your not alone go team I travel alone most of the time could get scary yikers ❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Eugene OR here. I want an EV but... I am SHOCKED that is costs so much to use a Supercharger. That makes no sense I can almost fill my Corolla for that, and it only takes 5 minutes. IMO, they don't seem like a good value in transportation. 41:30 what a nightmare.
Yeah, this was just our experience. But keep in mind, ours was a rental and was probably not meant to be used for a long road trip. I hear from the Tesla community that the network of charging locations is much bigger and reliable. And having your own charger at home helps. Definitely do your research if you are looking into getting an EV 😀👍. However, for us, the next time we rent a car, especially for long road trips, we'll probably consider renting either a Tesla or use a gas car 😉
@@thetykofam What year was the vehicle? I don't recall if you mentioned that. A lot of the rental Tesla's are 2019 or whatever but yeah... Tesla is the best way to go right now when it comes to buying one.
I'm not sure what year vehicle we had. But it seemed sorta new. It would've been okay as a daily commuter car, not a long road trip car 🤪.
I wonder how good the heaters work when you can't charge the system probably not don't get stranded heaters eat up alot of electricity yikers 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊
It definitely does take a bit more planning, but we learned a lot! 😄
Maybe one could charge the battery of of the rotation of the tires simple generators wow Maybe a capacitor may work just a nother crazy idea should work very fantastic 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤😢😢😅😅😅😅😅😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 😊
Welcome back home!
Thank you 😊
Hello 👋😀
Yikers when the power goes out nothing but troubles what happens then could be a scary problem yikers don't get lost
🫣😬
Tesla has superchargers that charge up teslas within 15 minutes from 20%-80%, I love my model 3. I rented a gas car to go to Tahoe and felt like I traveled 10 years back in time as far as technology goes. I wouldn’t recommend any other EV’s, they just don’t compare to Tesla. The Self driving feature is unmatched as well. My stress levels are down when I get in my car.
That's great to hear about your Tesla and the self-driving feature. I think it's awesome that you're driving the future! 🙌😀
It's called energy battery's lose power and are very heavy pounds per square inch yikers ❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😢😢😢😢
