A question: If you trigger a ghost note with your fingers in stead of a cross stick, does it miss the cross stick completely or do you mean that it just triggers a small ghost note immediately before the cross stick? If it just triggers an extra note but still triggers the cross stick then it's a non issue because that will happen on an acoustic drum as well, you will technically hit the head with your fingers and rattle the buzz wires which sounds similar to a very weak ghost note.
If you play jazz with electronic kits, you don't deserve to play jazz. These kits sound like toys. I don't think they really added many sounds, if at all. But overall I really like the kit. Cymbals and drums are great! Module is very basic and doesn't have the editing depth of a Roland in the same price class. So you gotta love the sounds as is, use MIDI, or don't buy it. But if you like the sounds, this thing is solid

I’m in the market for another high end kit. I really like my Strike Pro SE which I will move to our rehearsal space. I only use 4 kits and hardly touch any of the settings other than changing out an instrument here and there so I want something simple as I like to just sit down and play and not deal with analysis paralysis. I’m leaning towards this kit for that reason. My one hangup though is not having individual outputs. I haven’t needed that yet with the Strike but I can see that being useful when we start playing out. Or maybe that isn’t that important. Any thoughts from the community on that?
An 11" and 15" diameter toms? What's wrong with this company? Where are you supposed to to get replacement heads, not many mesh head manufacturers have those oddball sizes.
Where do you get replacement parts for any company that does something for the first time? The company itself. The 11", 13" and 15" were made for performance sake, not to be different. Much R&D was spent on this, after 20 years at Roland and 2 years aT ATV. We stock 10", 11", 12", 13", 14", 15", 16" and 20" heads so far.
Performance sake? Come on now. You’re trying to tell us that they are all one inch different from standard sizes for performance? That’s some marketing bs.
@@matthewfischer3312 Not sure where the aggression is coming from but yes, as someone who's been in product development on the kits for two years, it's for performance sake. There is zero logic to it being a "marketing" advantage to ask people to try something different. It's funny how many in the community want something new, until it arrives. Samples were adjusted and rerecorded with different shell depths, different mesh types and thickness were tested, the floor was almost a 16" but 15" felt like the best overall performance with just the right amount of thud for a floor tom. Our engineers are going for sync of ears, hands, feet and eyes to create the experience, regardless of you believing it or not. Can you communicate respectfully to me without putting words in my mouth? if so, Thank you.
These kits look great, but WHAT is that module?! It looks like a PalmPilot from the 90s. I'd mostly use this over midi with third party drum software, but think the module would put me off. It just doesn't look as premium as the rest of the kit.
It's a matter of taste. i spent almost a year A,B, C'ing this with multiple Roland and Alesis kits for product development. This kit absolutely competes for the price. Play it and see.
I notice this machine gunning and immediately wasn't into this module. I play a 2Box drumit 5 mk1 (great sounds) together with Roland Td11 for layered kick and snare sounds (the TD11 has machine gunning and I will upgrade this module one day).
2022 and the samples STILL sound from the early 2000’s… these drums look amazing but don’t sound amazing. I’d honestly just use the drum brain and run a plug-in like GGD.
Great review. I think as unforgivably limited the module is I like the raw dry sounds a lot better than the heavily processed and synthesized sounds on my TD-50 X-Upgrade. But I'd rather have too much than not enough. Considering the competition in that price range or even what you could do on your own with a much more cost effective A2E build the inadequate module and cheap wrap are a real deal breaker for me. I'm actually a little disappointed. I was hoping for something better.
cable snake, oddball sizes, and a really basic bullshit module? yeah I'll pass, especially if it's gunna be 5k for a kit I could build myself from some piezos off Amazon and a shitty used acoustic kit for way less

@@65Drums what I do is I load RUclips drumless songs or Moises edits to the daw and record drums and guitar on top of it. Is reaper cool with that?
@@timolonnberg3205 Yeah it's just a standard DAW, it can do anything normal like that.
Thanks, I might consider Reaper then.
@@timolonnberg3205 There's an infinite free trial, just check it out. And if you like it after a week or two, spend the $70 to support the developers. And it it doesn't work for you, it was free to try it out
I’m in the market for another high end kit.
It does 4 channel analog out, which is plenty for any club.
@@listener84 Thank you! Good to know!
An 11" and 15" diameter toms? What's wrong with this company? Where are you supposed to to get replacement heads, not many mesh head manufacturers have those oddball sizes.
I really dont get it. Just silly.
😂😂😂😂 If you say so.
Which module is the best for someone like me who simply wants to plug and play- EFNOTE or ATV 3 or 5? Thanks!
Pearl Mimic Pro
@@JCReyesJCRACING Thanks JC. Mimic Pro is a bit out of my price range.
From what you said, These Cymbals/Hi-Hat don't work with other drum modules ? Bummer if that's true.
All the cymbals are 3rd party compatible with Roland style modules except for the hihat
These kits look great, but WHAT is that module?! It looks like a PalmPilot from the 90s. I'd mostly use this over midi with third party drum software, but think the module would put me off. It just doesn't look as premium as the rest of the kit.
How much
are the sounds multi layered samples ?
Yes
@@listener84 thanks. it is a awesome kit. i have now a 2box but is is a lot of work to get thinks right
Roland or efnote?
Pete Thorn in 11:14
What type of event is this called?
NAMM
@@65Drums thanks!
No sample import??? Wtf….
Thanks for a great review Jason! Still think Roland has a better product!
For sure, but then again it costs more. So it's give and take either way
i think 5k is too much because the roland rig just is better for the same price with the digital pads i think.
It's a matter of taste. i spent almost a year A,B, C'ing this with multiple Roland and Alesis kits for product development. This kit absolutely competes for the price. Play it and see.
1.33 is there only one sample layer?? ! How can it be so hard to work in sample variation ?
Listen to 1.55 too. I just don't get it.
I notice this machine gunning and immediately wasn't into this module. I play a 2Box drumit 5 mk1 (great sounds) together with Roland Td11 for layered kick and snare sounds (the TD11 has machine gunning and I will upgrade this module one day).
wie stimmt man das schlagzeug eigentlich so wie ein Akustik schlagzeug oder wie
Beautiful kit but pity it's a wrap at this price. ATV aDrums, while only piano black, are lacquer.
2022 and the samples STILL sound from the early 2000’s… these drums look amazing but don’t sound amazing. I’d honestly just use the drum brain and run a plug-in like GGD.
☮🙏💙
Great review. I think as unforgivably limited the module is I like the raw dry sounds a lot better than the heavily processed and synthesized sounds on my TD-50 X-Upgrade. But I'd rather have too much than not enough. Considering the competition in that price range or even what you could do on your own with a much more cost effective A2E build the inadequate module and cheap wrap are a real deal breaker for me. I'm actually a little disappointed. I was hoping for something better.
If you want more sounds, add Superior Drummer. I have the 7. The module sounds plus SP3 is more than I'll ever need.
1:33 horrible snares off sound. Cold and flat.. as usual.
The stack was a big zero for me. I like FNote though.
The tom sizes are a hard pass
It looks like we're going backwards, we might as well buy a normal drum set.
I prefer an electronic drumset to look like they first made them
Wouldn’t that be going backwards? 😂
The opposite. I love the fact that my ekit looks like an acoustic kit.
I thought so too til I played my conversion kit. So much funner with acoustic sizes.
cable snake, oddball sizes, and a really basic bullshit module? yeah I'll pass, especially if it's gunna be 5k for a kit I could build myself from some piezos off Amazon and a shitty used acoustic kit for way less
that kit cant beat up roland vad506😜😜😜
Sounds like a cheap beginner electric drum kit
Module is WAY too small,
Joke !!!!!!
Whoevet named this drum company EFNOTE your fired. Total crap sounding name. Product sounds like junk no matter if it is or not. CHEAP PRODUCT.
