What i would like to see with this model is 1,000.00 milliwatt RF output that's only 1 watt that can be used by a Ham operator Like my self and other hams so we can drive a amp to 50-100 watts PEP and it will be clean even as a QRP no over admittance of RF and I am licensed by the FCC I fully understand and abide by the fcc part 97 Rules. I think the max right now is 40 or 50 kilowatts And when it comes to bands and FREQ YOu Must Follow the Band Planes and Rules of the FCC so if your not licenced be careful broadcasting or putting audio into it on a band like the 2 meter band 144 - 148 MHz 10 meters 6 meters 70 centimeters 80 meters 20 meters 60 meters 30 meters 17 meters and 40 meters and 15 meters These bands are regulated by the FCC for hams they also have freq for walkies FRS and GRS the walkie band you can use and since your under 50 watts i think your safe on the 12 meter band AKA CB as well without a license any other bands i would be careful with if your not licenced with they do have heavy fines.....the fcc regulates these bands. if you have any questions on what bands you can use without a licence you can look it up or call the FCC. Anyways now that i have covered the information for the none licenced Your intention for this was not really for the purpose of what we use it for well yes and no as a TECH learning about RF is important but you have this at a low wattage witch is fine for around the house but for me i would like to expand it and be able to use it with a broader RF like i said before up to 1 watt and no more than 5 watts would be great....I could walk on acres of land talk to the home base or up to 10 miles away at 4-5 watts but again I caution none licenced people of broadcasting out of band bad language music and things of this nature are not allowed on the air. Unless you are Nasa and broadcasting for the ISS is the only time you can play music on the air as part of a spacecraft or mission. The whole point of learning RF is to be able to use it if someone misuses it your company would not be held responsible it is the person or persons broadcasting that would be fined by the FCC So why use SDR? for us to be able to use it for CW and DATA and Voice and Digital Modes of Course EEM or Moon Bounce is a lot of fun as well. I am not sure how much RF you are allowed to have before it is considered a radio at 1 watt that's not much at all and 5 watts is limited unless you amplify the signal then you must abide by the FCC Regulation and Rules of spectrum emissions. This would not be needed for frs or CB where the max is 5-50 watts for the CB 1-3 watts for FRS.....or walkie talkie bands one could plug and play having a conversation with there friends blocks away on the FRS FREQ and who knows they may want to become a engineer someday where they will learn about electronics and RF. As a Ham i can tell you a a emergency relay running on a generator this would be ideal for passing information that is needed speaking only for myself hams enjoy this type of device and if you could give it a upgrade we could use this also for emergency communications because of its small nature it would work great....kids can learn morse code and send there friends messages like the old 1800 telegraph there is a lot of learning that people could use this device with sending packets PSK31 and TTY and other digital modes via computer to computer without the use of the internet of course this would be limited to 1-5 watts but it could be done I am for any type of tech that can help someone learn the true art of RF and Radio. 73 KG5CUO - JOHN

Please also be careful about out-of-band spectral leakage. If you want to use this radio, you may need additional RF filters.
