@earthandstar3392 Not really as Russia has no foothold in the city. Most Russian resources in the sector were relocated to taking Novomykhailivka and now pushing towards Kostiantynivka, which is a better objective as taking it would put Ugledar into a semi-encirclement.

Not really. Let's be honest - NATO involvement is really small. And let it be so - if NATO will fully pledge to the war the Russia will face the situation dire enough to take all the drastic measures it have. Things might go ugly very quick.
It looked to me like that turtle tank hit a stack of mines, not just one mine. We've seen this tactic used elsewhere to defeat mine ploughs and up-armoured vehicles. It works like this: You put down one mine - primed but without the trigger set - then a fully armed mine, then another primed mine. The tank approaches or retreats over a primed mine, which doesn't go off. It then hits the armed mine, which goes off and sets the two mines off fore and aft. The other two mines are not under the mine roller, and one of them is under the front of the tank...

Just some context on FPV drones. In high jamming or noisy environments, it's common to experience increased latency due to packets missing. It can go anywhere from a 6ms jumping to 240+ms. It might not seem a lot but if the drone is flying 80kph that can translate to missing by a couple of meters since stick correction isn't registering in timely fashion.
It's also not that the case that FPVs hit all the time. Videos of hits are uploaded, but the ones of misses are usually not. But WU had to come up with some "deeper" analysis of course...
@@Xeptr yeah that's pretty much a given. There's also the problem with LiPo batteries falling off like a cliff once the cell voltage is below 2.8v since these drones are flying pretty close to full throttle all the time just to lift the explosive charges.

I’d like to make two points:
1. Russian soldiers may carry jamming equipment on them to combat drones
2. Turtle tank was going too damn fast and that’s why it got blown up. It hit several mines in a row.
Kleeschevka falling down is big thing , captured and recaptured by Ukraine and Russia multiple times, then held by Ukraine for year... Fromt is starting to move across all positions
This time it will most probably never been reconquer by Ukraine.
Sky news Australia focused on the small bit of ground in northern front where Russians were pushed back. No mention of the rest.

The Russian infantry need dirt biks to move quickly out of cover and to new cover. Dirt biks can carry more than one soldier or ammunition. They are relatively inexpensive as well.

@@bazangelopoulos I see your point, there's been quite alot of videos of Russians using small 125 air cooled motorcycle which seem to be the cheapest and easiest to use. Electric bikes would be useful for recon potentially but russian forces lean into bombarding and ravaging defenses with artillery so whether they're useful in russian battle doctrine I'm not so sure.

It drove to fast, the mines have a delay after activation,
That delay is there on purpose, and you see why
In the video (I cut it off before it ended) the vehicle is damaged and abandoned then destroyed by Ukrainian artillery

That turtle tank actually faired fairly well against what looked like 5 or 6 anti-tank mines in quick succession.
Jesus!!, the tank got hits from multiple mines yet the driver was survived. I guess the tank moved too fast so that the anti-mine roller had no time to absorb the blast.
The Turtel tank made the mistake to avoid the artillery wholes, while it was a path without mines...

It implies that these drones are flying way too far from their control stations. Even a microsecond delay could mean the difference for such a small target.

How long did it take them to retake Robotyne? The more important question is how many resources did they expend to do so, maybe they traded more time to not use so many soldiers and in that way reduced casualties, or maybe they still lost the same amount of troops per day they would lose daily if they went in faster... that would be a big loss. What are the numbers?
A drone does not have the mass required to shoot at anything, they drop explosives. So the footage of the soldier was lucky in that the drone had already dropped it's payload.

To me it would seem the logical thing to do as drones represent the biggest danger currently ...
drones make the battlefield that bit more precarious, but the biggest problem is still artillery other heavy ordinance.
the "cope cages" and turtle tanks have actually shown themselves to be a way to keep armored vehicles active and on the battlefield for longer;
at least for now. if there is a way to effectively combat drones and drone swarms it'll have to be as cheap and disposable as said drones already are.
