I know not everyone liked Mafia 3 (especially original Mafia 2 fans), but I really liked it. The story and characters were what kept me coming back, and I'm sure glad that I finished it through to the end. I love thia game!
The story is what I hated about it. It has nothing in common with the first two. They should’ve just stuck with having the games be about the Italian mafia. They added so many unnecessary characters like John Donovan and Father James. The gameplay is fun, but the story is terrible.

The shooting/hand to hand combat is very good and makes the gameplay fun but the actual missions are just so repetitive it kills everything. I had fun for about three hours until I realized nothing new gameplay wise was going to happen just rinse repeat missions.

I really liked this game. It definitely wasn't perfect. Some of the mechanics could have used more work and the missions were repetitive. But, I honestly think that it was still great. The story was engaging, the characters were understandable and likeable (Lincoln is still a badass), the setting was detailed, intricate, and authentic, the OST was beautiful, and the gameplay was still fun (bugs aside). It was great, but if it had some more time in the oven, it could have been legendary.
The beginning of the game is amazing and wonderful except the more you play through the story it gets sadly lazier and repetitive. With its open world being so empty with nothing to do in it I really really loved the realism and how it was taken back in 1965 representing racism and how racism was back in the day ( which was why Lincoln Clay and his family got betrayed) the game feels unfinished as if it was still in beta but that’s my opinion through out the story I loved how it was a documentary talking about Lincoln Clay’s story and his choices he made me almost believed Lincoln’s story was all real if the gameplay was just a little bit more better and the missions had more variety in it this game would be a talked about game for a long time

I remember seeing the trailer for the first time. 2 days later it came out. I was instantly hooked to it. And i now have the platinum trophy for it one of my favourite games.
I made a dissatisfied comment a couple months ago. i just wanted to make a new comment since the recent updates. I can now say I'm pretty satisfied with the open world now. I wanted to thank 2K and Mafiagame for working hard and getting us these updates. Which included vehicle customization, races and character outfits. The exact updates I was hoping for. Now I'm excited for the DLC this month :) I'm so glad I held onto this game.
I remember watching this trailer over and over, until the day I finally got it. What an amazing game this was, i found it to be not repetitive, not tedious, and the story was fantastic. 2K Czech has merged into Hangar 13, 2K Czech is a 2K studio, not a separate studio entirely, at the end of the day, 2K decides which studio gets to make their games, so they opened Hangar 13 to continue to series, besides, Daniel Vavra left the studio before Mafia 2 was even released, Mafia will never be the same again, even if the series was given back to 2K Czech. Update (April 14, 2018): Hangar 13 has a new studio in Brighton, England, United Kingdom (UK), it hasn't been announced yet.
I'm currently playing this game, and I absolutely ADORE it! The special atmosphere of the 60's, the city is a mix of New Orleans/Memphis and looks amazing, the incredible soundtrack, the characters, the story as a whole, the fun of earning districts and assign them...I'm glad I have downloaded it, really fun. Lincoln Clay deserves his own tv series. 👌🏻
This is one of my all time favorite games. Not ashamed to say it approx. 4 years later. I still play this on PS4. I've traded in numerous games at GS. I've repurchased this game like, 3 times. They REALLY need to remaster this for PS5 and XBox Scarlett when they come out. Make it a little less repetitive by maybe adding new missions besides the DLC, absolutely fix the bugs, and of course, up the graphics and the game mechanics. In other words, Mafia 3, as it stands, is largely, imho, an unfinished game and yet, again, one of my all time favorites. Imagine if either 2K Czech or Hangar 13 actually finished this game and made it complete?

This game is pretty perfect, From story down to gameplay, It's heavily underrated. It's not that repetitive when you get the option to skip %75 of the tasks for a district considering you caused enough damage, Hell, Some district have unique missions like chasing and killing car thieves in Tickfaw Harbor and the opposite of quietly tailing people in Downtown, The story is utterly beautiful, Even though Lincoln wasn't a part of a mafia he still ruled the whole place as if he was in one, Bugs can be a problem but Graphics aren't even an excuse to complain about the game, I mean look at Red Dead Online, Fantastic graphic and shit gameplay. Speaking of gameplay, Though it could've had more, It was still decent, You got branching paths depending on if you wanna sneak in or shoot down everybody, Unlike some modern game that force end your stealth even if nobody ever saw you literally. The DLCs were pretty amazing, Not only did they add new missions, But also a new location to explore, New features, New weapons, Cars, And equipment all of which are very useful, Especially that God darn Silentium pistol that you get for free which makes stealth much easier. Though the game had usual problems like missions not running properly, But that's understandable because the budget they had isn't something like AAA games, But what matters is that there's no game breaking bugs that requires you to start over. Though the biggest problem is the lack of save states and/or new game Plus. The game gives you so many choices but once you finish the game you're forced to start from scratch which is a huge pain.
This game is awesome . First I didn't even considered playing this but when I give it a try I loved playing it . I regret not playing it at first . I find it funny how the trailer shows how the gang is working together, but in reality it's only 1-3 mission you are doing a mission together with any of the underbosses, and never the whole gang together.😂 Still played the story 4 times.
Mafia 4 in my idea is like this The takes place in the 80s. You get to play as your own character.you can choose which mafia family you can join and have Lincoln appear in side quests.
I'm playing Mafia 3 Definitive Edition and i can not express how much i love this game. I even go to different places when im off mission, I find life in this game it's full of deep and rich history and gives the clear image of 60s. Strong and powerful story and the list goes on. The music in this trailer is obviously a cover/remix type thing of the Glenn Yarbrough song, and not a 'smash original track'. Not entirely original anyway. Wow careful there, there is a system in the game where if the other underbosses get annoyed at you enough they will turn on you forcing you to have to fight them and there gangs in there turf. I can't say what perks Burke has but Cassandra's owns the weapons dealer and screwing her over may result in losing access to him.

I think Niko Bellic in GTA IV, Trevor in GTA V, Claude in GTA III and GTA SA, John Marston & Arthur Morgan in RDR2 and RDR1 (John), and Vito in MAFIA 2 are pretty badass, the list goes on and on. But he is.
A great setting, a great protagonist, fantastic soundtrack, interesting plot, and good gameplay mechanics, but a gameplay loop that feels lacking. So much potential with this game, maybe if they spent another year developing it more could have rivaled GTA.

It needed a better gameplay loop and actual side activities. Maybe it just should have been a linear experience, something like Uncharted.

I'm currently playing this game, and I absolutely ADORE it! The special atmosphere of the 60's, the city is a mix of New Orleans/Memphis and looks amazing, the incredible soundtrack, the characters, the story as a whole, the fun of earning districts and assign them...I'm glad I have downloaded it, really fun. Lincoln Clay deserves his own tv series. 👌🏻

This is one of my all time favorite games. Not ashamed to say it approx. 4 years later. I still play this on PS4. I've traded in numerous games at GS. I've repurchased this game like, 3 times. They REALLY need to remaster this for PS5 and XBox Scarlett when they come out. Make it a little less repetitive by maybe adding new missions besides the DLC, absolutely fix the bugs, and of course, up the graphics and the game mechanics. In other words, Mafia 3, as it stands, is largely, imho, an unfinished game and yet, again, one of my all time favorites. Imagine if either 2K Czech or Hangar 13 actually finished this game and made it complete?
In this comment section white people crying over Ice Cube being played while this game took place in the 60's but didn't cry about the Battlefield 1(which is set in the 1910s) trailer having a alt rock song made in 2003 remixed by dubstep...fucking dubstep. Not to mention the countless Call of Duty trailers(set in 2013-2065) played to old rock songs. You people are hypocrites!

This game is pretty perfect, From story down to gameplay, It's heavily underrated.
It's not that repetitive when you get the option to skip %75 of the tasks for a district considering you caused enough damage, Hell, Some district have unique missions like chasing and killing car thieves in Tickfaw Harbor and the opposite of quietly tailing people in Downtown, The story is utterly beautiful, Even though Lincoln wasn't a part of a mafia he still ruled the whole place as if he was in one, Bugs can be a problem but Graphics aren't even an excuse to complain about the game, I mean look at Red Dead Online, Fantastic graphic and shit gameplay.
Speaking of gameplay, Though it could've had more, It was still decent, You got branching paths depending on if you wanna sneak in or shoot down everybody, Unlike some modern game that force end your stealth even if nobody ever saw you literally.
The DLCs were pretty amazing, Not only did they add new missions, But also a new location to explore, New features, New weapons, Cars, And equipment all of which are very useful, Especially that God darn Silentium pistol that you get for free which makes stealth much easier.
Though the game had usual problems like missions not running properly, But that's understandable because the budget they had isn't something like AAA games, But what matters is that there's no game breaking bugs that requires you to start over.
Though the biggest problem is the lack of save states and/or new game Plus.
The game gives you so many choices but once you finish the game you're forced to start from scratch which is a huge pain.
I got the game and it's...(sniff) so fucking beautiful!!!

This game is awesome . First I didn't even considered playing this but when I give it a try I loved playing it . I regret not playing it at first . The only problem that's in this game is the glitches and the big hud . The game story is great and the missions and playing as Lincoln Clay is awesome. Lincoln Clay is a badass character. what I enjoyed most about this game is the DLCs of this game :-
The Signs of Time is a great DLC with good investigation .The investigation is awesome .
Storns unturned and faster baby faster is amazing . This game is a pure gem . The shooting the combat is great but can be lil more better . The gunshots and recoiling especially the sniper felt realistic . Sad that this game was not a hit it's a great game tbh .

I find it funny how the trailer shows how the gang is working together, but in reality it's only 1-3 mission you are doing a mission together with any of the underbosses, and never the whole gang together.😂 Still played the story 4 times.

I even go to different places when im off mission, I find life in this game it's full of deep and rich history and gives the clear image of 60s. Strong and powerful story and the list goes on. 'Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven' i'm pretty certain was a song written by Glenn Yarbrough in 1993. The music in this trailer is obviously a cover/remix type thing of the Glenn Yarbrough song, and not a 'smash original track'. Not entirely original anyway. At least the parts that are not Ice Cube, are Glenn Yarbrough. In case you were interested in knowing what the song underneath the rapping was.

Wow careful there, there is a system in the game where if the other underbosses get annoyed at you enough they will turn on you forcing you to have to fight them and there gangs in there turf. I can't say what perks Burke has but Cassandra's owns the weapons dealer and screwing her over may result in losing access to him.

A great setting, a great protagonist, fantastic soundtrack, interesting plot, and good gameplay mechanics, but a gameplay loop that feels lacking. So much potential with this game, maybe if they spent another year developing it more could have rivaled GTA.
