Please oh please!!! Make a running video I'm dying to see this beast in action because I'm planning on running this setup soon and could you please make a video with all the tool sizes that I'll need for every single screw on the mini 8ight either stock or your setup I've heard a lot of people can't find a screw list and neither can I and what size wheel nuts it has.
I'm getting a roller and planning on running a similar setup to your's and it comes with a stock wing so I'll get a cheap 1/10 clear wing also and see how it looks thanks.
Great series on the mini 8ight t. I just bought one and have only ran it twice in stock form on the Ni-MH. Can wait to try it on 3s. Considering how many videos there are with people swapping motors; something tells me it won't be as fast as I would like in stock form. I will most likely be following your suggested upgrades from the series. Hut still unsure about the motor/esc combo I want to go with. I'd love to see how yours performs with the upgrades and the traxxas motor. When can we expect to see such a video? P.s. loved your unboxing of the kraton. Omg that thing is amazing! I was going to order it from my local hobby shop, but decided to wait for some reviews. So I bought my mini 8ight t to tide me over for now lol. Anyway can't wait to see driving vids of both. Great channel and keep up the good work.
Thanks Ravage for all the great comments! The motor on the M8T is just a bit too small for the size of vehicle and the size of tires it's turning. Especially on 3s, the fuze motor gets extremely hot. I have so many projects going on right now, but I am getting the M8T tuned and ready for some action (Actually waiting on the body to arrive)
I bought 3 of these Truggys and sheared the shaft of the motor Clean off ..... so i upgraded to the 3370 and love it now my diffs dont last???? any suggestions i think i got some side to side play all splines look good but il have to make some videos :) I also Fixed my FUSE motors by machining a new shaft as the shaft was tappered down to its size witch cause it to flex with steel spur and pinion... after the installing none tappered shaft motor runs great. Installed it into my rc18 t :)
Hi Rich, Just cruising through your vids I've noticed that for all these builds you go through, you hardly actually drive them after a build or review? How's about a run video of this with the upgrades??? What happened to the rolling chassis Typhon you built, for example? Cheers!
+BigCarKilla Thanks for watching, BCK. Sometimes, there's problems on builds and they get shelved while either I or the company that created the issue sort it out. In the case of the M8T, Losi released the CVD's, but had issues with the batch that were first released, as they were too short and fell out of the diff cups. I later solved the issue, but never heard back from Horizon Hobby on a replacement set. As for the Typhon, the buggy ran great for one battery pack until I blew the motor.....waiting on a replacement from Team Orion......Otherwise, I typically shoot running vids unless something prevents it......In another case, the Tower Hobbies CutBack.....I was up and ready to film and the truck was horrendous. So much so, that TH sent me a completely new truck....same issue! I couldn't capture anything decent to publish and reported back in the review. Lastly, I'm not a huge fan of running videos. I never watch them on youTube and get board with in about a minute......I personally would rather watch a video where I learned something.
im thinking of buying a mini 8ight t and i wanted to know if a SV3 Sidewinder Waterproof ESC 3800Kv Motor Combo would fit. Im also thinking of buying the exotec carbon fiber chassis, but i don't want to ruin it!! Is there a hard protector for it? If not which chassis that can take a beating would you recommend? What size servos would fit this, im installing the exotec shorty blocks if i get the exotec chassis. thanks, and keep up the good videos!
Nope. At least not the stock motor mount. I did hear about someone coming out with a 540 (Big Block) motor mount for it (I thought it was Exotek) As far as chassi to take a beating - the stock one. You can cover the Exotek, but Carbon Fiber wears quickly on dirt. YOu'll need a "Mini" sized Servo - I did a Servo swap both on the Mini eight T and the Mini eight
With the exotec motor mount, which motor combo or esc and motor would you recommend for strong power and it allows me to run at 3s or at 4s? And is the stock chassis aluminum? If not is there any aluminum chassis for it?
After looking at the Exotek mount - You're still limited to a max of a 29mm motor. Typical 540 sized motors are 36mm. So you're still stuck with off-branded motors, motor shafts, pinion/spur compatibility, etc. This is why I was done with the MIni 8ight platform. It's a great little truggy, but if you put any additional power through it...it self destructs and hase TONS of compatibility issues. The Stock chassis is aluminum....and why would you ever want to run that 1/14th scale on 4s.....???
The Blockades are really a great tire option for almost any condition. There's also the Dirt Hog and the Bow Tie that have a bit more aggressive tread: prolineracing.com/1-10-buggy-tires
what is the total price you paid for all the upgrades, i have a mini 8 t also, and i was hoping to spend about 150 dollars on upgrades.i found ur upgrade series, which is great btw, and i want to copy off of ur parts.
Probably about $400 or so. Not all of them are needed, but many of them made sense. If I broke it down, the biggest bang for the buck would be in this order: Spur, Pinion, Motor, Servo, Rod Ends. All of which would cost you about $150 depending on where you get it
The RCNetwork Would it be possible to have the part numbers of the Spur, Pinion, Motor, Servo, & Rod Ends all gathered here for easy reference? Great job, thanx!
A standard 1/10th scale buggy wing should fit.....there's different widths from 6"-7" It probably won't look like the stock, but if you want clear, that's it
+tim bob I kno longer have the M8T, but the Losi website states 13" or 319mm - But that might be the overall length. Here's a link: www.losi.com/Products/Features.aspx?ProdID=LOS01000
Hernan Rojas well, what do you think, Hernan? This video was uploaded 2.5 years ago.....no further videos on the M8T and probably the last Losi that will be on my channel....
Almost forgot about this upgrade, The mini T is definitely an rc. that should be in everyone's arsenal
Thanks Johnny!
Can't wait for the body video. Can't decide what to do with mine.
Mike Cordova Thanks Mike!

My Mini 8ight T is gone to a new home. I never ended up finishing the body - a buddy of mine made it his!
what a cliffhanger!!!!!!! i really need to see this setup in action im waiting for my 8t to be delivered and want to see if it makes much difference
+john holmes Thanks for watching, John!
I'm getting a roller and planning on running a similar setup to your's and it comes with a stock wing so I'll get a cheap 1/10 clear wing also and see how it looks thanks.
Still got this? I just picked one up and would really like to see how it goes with that Traxxas in it
Nope, no longer have this one

Matthew Duguay Yeah, I've heard of issues with the diffs needing shims, and will need to inspect mine before I hit the track again
I'm liking the proline caliber tires we picked up recently...
The Pro-Line Calibers are one of my favorites!
Yes, pretty good all around, and seem to be holding up nicely...

no running vid after the the upgrades? maybe a review after upgrades?
Any slicks for this car?

What are some good bashed tire options? I don't really want pin point or anything like racing tire like you chose.
The Blockades are really a great tire option for almost any condition. There's also the Dirt Hog and the Bow Tie that have a bit more aggressive tread: prolineracing.com/1-10-buggy-tires
Glad to see i am not the only one that makes a mess with the glue on the tires...lol
Yeah, I don't know if it was just late when I glued them up, or something.....The Electrons turned out great though with that new 1/8 scale style bead
I make a mess out of 1/8 wheels to.
Nice tires! I like them big nobby ones!
Yeah, they should do a bit better than stock on dirt

I have a whole series of videos on the M8T. Check them out, each video has links to the parts mentioned in the videos.
I got the mini t I just gave it away in a giveaway cool series man
Good deal!
That's awesome dude
Thanks SoCal
Welcome
Will the velocity rims work on the 1/16 erevo vxl since it has a 12mm hex?
+iceplanetRC Yep, they'll fit any 12mm hex car
Have any idea about the mini 8ight buggy have any idea plzzz thx
+Henry Bennett The Mini 8ight buggy's wheels and tires, you're pretty much stuck with Losi's versions.
Also I'm trying to find a wing for mine and can't find one that is clear any ideas? Sorry for all the questions
A standard 1/10th scale buggy wing should fit.....there's different widths from 6"-7" It probably won't look like the stock, but if you want clear, that's it
how long is the truggy? (bumper to bumper)
+tim bob I kno longer have the M8T, but the Losi website states 13" or 319mm - But that might be the overall length. Here's a link: www.losi.com/Products/Features.aspx?ProdID=LOS01000
+The RCNetwork cool
any updates on this project EVER
Hernan Rojas well, what do you think, Hernan? This video was uploaded 2.5 years ago.....no further videos on the M8T and probably the last Losi that will be on my channel....
I know this is old but I'm curious why you said the last losi on your channel
1/10 won't look funny? What do you run? And any news on the body video?
I would get a stock wing.....I thought you were set on clear. 1/10th scale buggy and this 1/14th scale truggy are almost the same size
Oh and what happened to the body video i love these other videos and dying to see the body
My Mini 8ight T is gone to a new home. I never ended up finishing the body - a buddy of mine made it his!
Anybody know of a screw size list for the mini 8ight t
Check with Team KNK
Nice video!
I subscribet to you!
I have an rc channel too! :) XD
Thanks Felix! I'll check out your's as well
Ok thanks!
