Founded in 1891 in Södertälje, Sweden, the company's head office is still in the city. Today, Scania has ten production facilities in Sweden, France, Netherlands, Argentina, Brazil, Poland, and Russia.[1] In addition, there are assembly plants in ten countries in Africa, Asia and Europe. Dear! Dear! The AEC Routemaster only managed to last in London for over 40 years because it was so reliable - same engines as in their trucks. Same goes for Leyland Albion etc etc. These were all excellently engineered and reliable vehicles and were companies ultimately let down not by engineers but by accountants and politicians and owners who skimp on money by not servicing them just like the car side of things. Funny all the German manufacturers come out as poor for reliability in the UK for years now excepting Mercedes who come out as average for actual breakdowns and Mercedes actually put out an advert apologising for this blaming their accountants and saying they were going back to their engineers - still not made much difference though as they are still the same.
Very nice, thanks for sharing it!!! Scania is the best even in the old days!!!
