So beautiful to see them just sitting together, looking so regal in such a snowy wonderland. Thanks for capturing this time of meditation and perhaps a little bit of melancholy. It was so precious to see them together in their roost tree as well. I hope they have a little more peaceful night tonight.
The Queen and King 👑 of Big Bear lake looking out to their territory oh how beautiful it is!!❣️🦅🦅❣️
Successful hunters, successful relationship, and an awesome nest with a beautiful view. ❤
Forever bonded. ❤️ ❤️
Just love these two so much 💕🦅🦅💕
J saw that new stick and just didn't like it right off the bat. She was looking for S and as soon as he got there she told him, to move that darn stick!! LOL 💕
We are so fortunate to get a "bird's-eye" view of their world. Such serenity this evening. Seeing them together, happy and healthy is a blessing. They are magnificent and their bond is amazing ❤😊🦅🫂
🦜Cali ~ simply love and nature's bounty 💕✨
Nicely edited, takes one down a notch to breath and just watch….great job Cali
Hang in there you two❤❤ I'm praying for the weather to change to warm sunshine today!!! Hope you find much to eat too!!! Stay safe ❤❤
Wow, the clarity and beauty of the scene makes it appear like Jackie is in front of a green screen. Amazing.
Love how Jackie moves away so shadow can move some Sticks
Beautiful! ❤🦅🦅
I absolutely love them
They both look so beautiful against the white snow. A gorgeous Winter Wonderland❤🦅🦅 Thank you Cali💞
😍 beautiful 🥰
❤💕❤

♥️
I wish there was so way we could climb up to their nest and sweep all the snow away so, Jackie can do her thing! Is there a way to do that?
Bald Eagles are protected by federal and state laws. The eagle habitat is closed during the sensitive nesting season by the Forest Service order to help protect the eagles. It would be illegal and dangerous to climb the tree at this time. While we all worry about the eagles and wish them well, please keep in mind that the species are built for this weather, and are the most populous in Alaska. Jackie and Shadow are very equipped for this climate and chose to nest here.
@@CaliCondor thank you for your reply. I’m learning so much from your posts and videos. Thank you, thank you, thank you for everything you do and continue to do. I appreciate everything everyone does to provide education and filming.
How do you know which is Jackie and which is Shadow?
Jackie is larger than Shadow, her beak is thicker top to bottom. She has a more "fierce" or "stern" look. Video➡ruclips.net/video/NR6MtKyybNs/видео.html Head comparison➡bit.ly/3kPOmuK
I do hope the weather clears, Jackie must be ready to lay her eggs 🥚 🥚.
Thank you for capturing these beautiful moments!!!
How beautiful their love for each other! Thanks Cali 💞
I think winter is Jackie’s favorite season she looks beautiful 😍 n happy. Shadow is as long as Jackie is happy 😊 my fav love birds ❤
double entendre
My gosh they are gorgeous. They will need a shampoo and blowout after the storm. 😂
🤣😂🤣
now that is a pic for 2023 tshirts...
Omg, YES... good idea! That would be perfect! 😊
This is a joy to watch a must save video, thank you Cali 😊 Amazing !!
Aww their home is quite snowy. Trying to do some repairs. Guess the ravens survived. Jackie and Shadow are such good homeowners
Love them
Jackie and Shadow are meditating on what tomorrow will bring their way.
Or what to name their next child/children?!
🤣😉❤
Hopefully it will be a fertilized egg!🥚🦅
Jackie looks surprised that snow came & messed up all the fluff work they had done. It looked so comfy too. Ty Cali, nest looked so pristine ❄🌬 🦅🦅 They look amazing & seem happy chorteling. Amazing shot of them & background ❤
O M G! What a beautiful site! Thank you! God bless the USA
Wait...did it snow again today in BBV? Looks like fresh snow in the nest after Shadow's gopher meal earlier in the day. The snow is relentless! I suppose that's a great thing for the drought but not for having baby eagles 😞 Hang in there, our precious eagles! The snow will leave one of these days!! ❤❤🦅🦅 I just love when they hang out together at the nest overlooking their reign. It really is zen! TY CC and FOBBV!
Hi Jackie. Hi Shadow. What a view! Good luck from Maine!
You can see up close how beautiful their feathers are!
🦅❤️🦅
This is an absolutely beautiful video! 🥰Jackie and Shadow are gorgeous as is their home. I loved seeing them both looking out. Whenever my dogs - past and present, and cats in the past too - something about them looking outward, taking it all in, just warms the heart. I love it. Speaking of hearts = at times, my heart has felt sad seeing these two try to make the best of their nesting seasons happening during such cold, snow and freezing rain. Then, I remind myself how bald eagles are ALL over Alaska! Hello? They can handle it all, obviously, even if my sensitive heart may grapple w/the idea of it. 🤣
~Then, there they are in their roosting tree, clearly so very connected. The bond these two share is so wonderful to witness. Thank you for showcasing this splendor.😍🦅🦅
Bald eagles have a body core temperature of roughly -150 degrees. Anything above -50 deg probably feels like a sauna. 😂
@@wolfiepinhead 104-106F w/over 7k feathers. I know... I'm simply projecting my own human feelings about the cold. 🤣Intellectually, I already know, they like many creatures, are well equipped for the cold weather. Hence why I had written "they can handle it all", even if I don't like them having to deal w/it. 😉
Room With a View ❤
💯
💖 🦅💕 BEST. VIDEO. EVER. 💕🦅 💖
This visit gave me comfort in knowing that their crops are full and they are snuggling in one of their favorite rousting trees. It’s going to drop down to the low 20s for the next couple of nights. Snuggle close and keep each other warm tonight. Thank you Cali Condor! 🥰🤗
All their work on the nest covered in snow,Jackie and Shadow are hoping the sun comes out tomorrow
Where is the snow shovel Shadow Jackie asks.
So I know their bodies handle the snow and cold just fine, but what about their talons? They don't exactly look like they're built for snow.
🦶Bird feet are built differently: arteries and veins are very close together. Venous blood is warmed by arterial blood. Why don’t birds get cold feet?➡ bit.ly/3WucfWr
Beautiful, gracious and majestic birds of prey! Wow, Shadow, like feeling defeated by the snow and ice on his nest, sticks all covered, and Jackie, looks so fore long, that she is exhausted. She can't lay her clutch (s) because the nest they both built is a ice pack. To bad we have to let nature take it's course, but if only someone could climb up there and ice pick and shovel that snow out of there for them. Dress in black so if they spot a person up there, they look like crows or ravens. But this will not happen. Cannot disturb their habitat. They have a magnificent voice, they are airing out their feelings!
Jackie lands and is like, “I know I left that nest around here somewhere!” 😆 It was neat to see them communicate and then perch for some sleep. I don’t know why I thought they’d be different than my parrot - who also slept on one foot. They’re powerful enough to break those sticks, but they always just try to move them around. So interesting!
Bald eagles prefer the cold preferably with plenty of available food sources. With a core temperature of below -150 deg, sometimes they migrate north if temperatures are too warm during summer months. Seeing plenty of them in the Aleutian Islands in the fishing ports on a particular crab show, they welcome colder temperatures, as long as the food supplies remain.
Has the window for fertilization pasted for these 2 this season?? They appeared to be working on nest and mating a lot so I thought maybe ⁉️
Am I the only silly me that really want to help them just clean up the snow for them? 😂😅😂… oh dear… they are so calm and I am so much eager to get them the clean warm nest that they deserve! 😎👍🏻
Love seeing them together and snow in background would make a beautiful card❤
Very well said "Inseparable In Winter Wonderland"! Thank you for all the effort and dedication Cali! 🙏🦅🤍
great video, Cali Condor...love seeing them together,,.....great pair
Sometimes they seem to look right in the camera. Can they hear when the camera zooms in for closer views.
Beautifull!!
What a precious video of lovebirds J & S w/their gorgeous Penthouse view! 🦅💓🦅 Greatly appreciate all your time & great editing work to pick out fav parts of day for us all to enjoy. & the super helpful arrows. Such serene, relaxing wholesome videos to enjoy. Thx!! 😃
Just beautiful to watch these two! Thank you Cali!
I've been watching these two every day for a month and I still can't tell who's who, so thank you for the arrows!
Absolutely stunning video, Cali. 👏
Hard to warm up your cold feet when you can only do one at a time.
8:53 Jackie & Shadows random loud convo was so CUTE!! Then they napped right after.
I wish I could translate eagle talk. I want to know what they were talking about. LOL
Really cute! 🥰🥰
I adore this beautiful birds❤
I adore this ❤️❤️❤️❤️
So beautiful ❤🦅
❤❤❤sweethearts❤❤❤
I just love watching them together. They are very devoted to one another. It tickles me when Shadow gets in the way of Jackie trying to move the twigs that he has so carefully placed 🤣
SOLACE
It looks like her left foot / ankle has a cut on it..
I noticed the blood on Jackie’s foot too. It does not appear to be from something she has eaten. I zoomed in but could not get a good view. It makes me wonder what happened. Sad. :(
They are stunning 😍 Thank you for this wonderful vid, Cali Condor! 😊
💞💞 as 💓
What happens if Jackie has to lay eggs again and the nest is still covered in snow?
Jackie will lay when she is ready - snow or no snow. She has successfully laid & hatched eggs in snow in the past. Eagles don't have any problems incubating in the snow. They are quite good at keeping the bowl warm and dry.
On a side note, she does not appear to be too close yet. She tends to spend a lot of time sitting in the bowl right before she lays an egg.
