I love your tutorials; thanks for making this kind of information available! I do have a question about the TOC: When I get to the point where I've selected "Okay" to the parameters of my contents and drag to create the text box on the chosen page, my style of text for the style is too large to all fit into the text block. Should I manually reduce the text size/leading to make it fit and then proceed the saving stage? Or is there something else I need to do? Thank you!!
Aha! Setting the styles at the same level in the TOC dialog was the puzzle piece I was missing. They'll both show up on the TOC page if they're different levels, but not in the epub navigation. Thanks! 🙂
Love it! How do you change the navigational names of you need to? Like say if you style is on “dedication to” but you need the pull down to say “dedication”
Thank you! I kept getting the toc error for my picture book epub and have been searching for a way to bypass the toc. However, this is a good work around to create a Table of Contents that does not affect the look of my book.
Strange error. My course on creating ebooks & epubs from Indesign might help: www.udemy.com/course/ebook-creation-using-adobe-indesign/?referralCode=834CD50A4A6177B1FB89
hola, soy de Chile y no hablo inglés, una consulta, el validador me arroja este error: ERROR ITMS-9000: Invalid prefix attribute in root (package) element of the OPF file. Please supply a prefix attribute with valid rendition value in root element of the OPF file. Es un ePub de formato fijo, ya que son solo pdf colocados en InDesing Cómo podría solucionarlo? o por qué me arroja ese error…
@@ALinsdau Hello, I have paid InDesing, it is always updating... I think the problem is caused by Caliber, since it changes the prefix, in the package section of the ePub... so this time I did not go through Caliber, I hope it works, otherwise I am going to reinstall InDesing . thank you so much.
Great video! I am having a case issue in my EPUB TOC. The style I am using from my chapter titles is all upper case text. But in my EPUB TOC, the chapter text is lower case. I cannot figure out how this is happening. Could you help me with this? Thank you!
A small correction: In InDesign, you don't have to actually place the TOC on a page for this to work for EPUB. That creates a couple unnecessary steps. Thanks for the video.
It should. I have a great class on creating an EPUB in Indesign: www.udemy.com/course/ebook-creation-using-adobe-indesign/?referralCode=834CD50A4A6177B1FB89
Yes, you link the Chapter titles/numbers paragraph style. My course shows how to do this: www.udemy.com/course/adobe-indesign-for-nonfiction-book-layout-complete-guide/?referralCode=864F36DAF68014E701B0
Export the Google doc to Word, then import into Indesign. I have a class on this: www.udemy.com/course/adobe-indesign-for-nonfiction-book-layout-complete-guide/?referralCode=864F36DAF68014E701B0
*NOT WORKING!!! Why is InDesign so user unfriendly?? I have been working on this very simple task for 3 days and for the life of me I can't get my TOC to be clickable in my exported epub? I guess this is why people use Figma? *Sorry about the temper tantrum, but I'm about ready for a straitjacket!

Sounds like you need to re-install Indesign?

My client wants the TOC in the epub book itself. How do I get it to show up with anchor tags? Thank you

Thank for the update.
Some people create and use TOC pages without page numbers. I mean it is better solution for different reading devices.
Hi, thank you for this video I've been getting errors on an epub distrib check due to ToC, will this work on a fixed layout epub document?
