This guy is a legend for portraying one if not the best modern day owners of all time in Jerry freaking buss. This show is really good I like it has a ton of potential to be something extraordinary.
We've seen portrayals and intros for Magic, Kareem, baby Kobe("put me in coach!), Bird ("you f'ing know who this guy is!"), and now Dr. J, in the past few weeks. If the show goes on long enough, I can't wait to see how they introduce and portray Michael Jordan.
John C. did a tremendous job. I don't even think about his other movie roles when I see him in this role, he's totally convincing as this character. He and the dude playing Jerry West, co-Emmy for Best Actor.
Will Ferrell was supposed to play the Jerry Buss role, but Adam McKay decided to go with Reilly. Now McKay and Ferrell don’t even speak anymore after having worked on numerous projects together. But Reilly was definitely the right choice over William Ferrell
"FAST BREAK": is a must see documentary about, COACH, JOHN MCLENDON. This Legendary, African-American basketball coach, INVENTED, the fast break. He also helped integrate the sport. I'm only here to enlighten basketball fans. Enjoy the show, Winning Time, but, know the "TRUTH."

He's great and the only reason I'll watch snippets of the show. Otherwise, it's a lame rendition of the 70's and Lakers. Seems all youngsters think the 70's were 'chessy' and everyone was sleazy with a agenda, but those of us that had the pleasure of being young in those years know otherwise. Let's not forget that around the mid 80's greed and money started its destructive path to where we are today.
John C Reilly knew he wasn't going no where with that "What other sports team owner you know who had a doctrine". lol considering most owners these days are billionaires. But yeah but in the day it was a bigger accomplishment and the franchise was a lot cheaper.

Winning Time is taking too many liberties with basketball history. Hopefully, it'll spark the interest of fans to learn the truth?

It was actually supposed to be Will Ferrel, but he had a falling out with the producer. That's why John C Reilley only had a week to prep.

He really started college tournament basketball with the C.I.A.A tournament. ACC and others followed that format.
