Really look forward to them and always inspired by them. Thank you so much for all the time and trouble you go to putting them together - they are really appreciated! 💗

Omg Melissa I am so envious. You look so young and your selection of clothes is magnificent. I can not even pick a favorite. I wore a white linen maxi skirt to church, I have white shorts, various white denim, a straw bag, so I am going to start picking up some tops and have a capsule wardrobe. Yes me too!!!! And I live in the States and yes it’s pretty much all casual but even more casual than you’re showing but don’t stop, please 🙏 I have always loved being a little less casual.
Wow! That white dress with the front buttons looks beautiful on you. So did the green one. Lovely dresses! Thank you for all your ideas and creativity!
Yes that's correct. Here in the states No one dresses up for anything! I do because I was brought up to. All they wear over here is comfort clothes, sweats, leggings, jeans for everthing! Even funerals and weddings. It's horrible! I wouldn't wear some of the clothes I see to the mailbox. Really wish it would change. They could at least put on an nice outfit to go to dinner.
I live in Southern California and things are certainly more casual in general, and in the last 10 years office wear has significantly changed to be more casual. Even before COVID there had been a shift away from suits and dresses toward sportcoats and jeans or more fashion-forward dressing for women. I think it very much depends on the industry as well, people in finance and legal jobs are still more formal. Age plays a role, the younger generation is skewing more casual for sure but I've yet to see anyone at a wedding in jeans!
@DR: Not quite as bad here in Canada BUT close as more and more see less thought/effort put into one's wardrobe re occasion wear; not to mention personal grooming. That being said; do admit I come from an era (am 75 years of age) when there was dress codes.
@@canukmrsben Hi fellow Canuck! 🇨🇦. I agree that what we wear now is so “ dumbed down” . I think we feel and act differently when an effort is made to dress up if the occasion warrants it. It’s jeans and sweats for everything!😢🇨🇦
I've noticed how i feel when I make an effort..it really helps my mental health..too casual n sloppy make me feel that way. So hope people are paying attention to how they feel in what they wear n the colors they choose.
Love love love your channel! I’m a brown eyed, dark-haired Latina who suits more (and likes) blues, blacks, whites, grays etc. instead of the browns, creams and beiges I see you gravitate towards. I think 🤔 I understand the concept but would Love to see you do a video on Exactly how to use those colors as basics for those of us who like to add stronger, more jewel tones in their capsule wardrobe. 😊
Melissa (& Team) - This is my absolute favorite youtube channel! So much useful and practical information and great explanations. Since I've been watching, I shop differently. I look for specific items for my body type. I have narrowed the colors in my closet and it's made a huge difference. I know what questions to ask as I ponder a purchase and shop with confidence. So thank you and keep up the quality content. I also appreciate you're helping us in the USA... now if only I can keep up with some of the terms, but I enjoy the differences! 🥰
Thank you, Melissa for a lovely video. I am British but live in the US and it is great that you put the contact information for the US. I am 5'3' also but a bigger size than you, even so, I can see how I might look when you model the clothes.

Love, love, love all your videos Melissa - thank you for all your efforts! I hope to join one of your workshops someday … until then, I’m so pleased to read in the comments you’ll be including some more curvy models on your RUclips channel soon :) I’m 52 years old, 5’11”, and a US size 14. What great content...your tips and tricks to thrift for trends are golden. Just found you and I'm already obsessed! I'm pretty good at sewing, so upscaling is another hobby I'm interested in. Thank you so much for the brilliant content!
Love all the outfits you show Melissa but the beiges and creams look good on you being blonde but i dont think they would look good with my grey hair, they make me look ill! What other neutral colours could I wear for my colouring? Thanks in advance x
You can try a darker beige or a grey but to be honest, we’ve never had anyone, regardless of hair colour or skin tone who can’t wear the neutrals somewhere on their frame. Yes there are some who can’t wear it against their face but then we just pop it on their lower frame or layer it with another colour. Grey hair also suits the brighter colours too - royal blues, pink, raspberry etc.
Love your videos Melissa. Being able to mix and match your neutrals is key to capsule wardrobes. I will be on the hunt for that lightweight knit you are wearing with the white shorts. It's gorgeous.
You’re too cute🤗. I kept wondering who u reminded me of…then it came to me..Truly in the movie “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”. I enjoy ur videos, and yes u r correct it seems the US dresses more casually 😞. I’ll dress up to go to the grocery store bc I no longer work (live in the country) and get tired of blah casual. Your casual is still dressy for where I live but I love to “dress up” (your casual 😂). Idk if u have done a video for under garments but some of my strapless tops and dresses I have problem finding something that is seamless for large chested. Also wd love seamless slips for those fabrics that show all the bumps and lines (I’m 59 and no longer have smooth skin). So I would love some ideas of what and where to find those types of items. Thank you.
Thank you! We cover underwear in our online courses but it's hard to do that on youtube as getting the volunteers to stand there in their underwear is very difficult!
Love all these looks! I would love to see a recommendation of a capsule wardrobe for moms with young kids that wipe things on you constantly 😅 i cant imagine an all white outfit lasting very long here 🙈
Hi Melissa! I love your videos and your style. I’ve been following you for a couple of years now. I have a question… What would you wear to a rock concert, preferably using items you already have. My husband and I are going to see Bryan Adams in a few weeks and I’m stumped as to what to wear. I’m in my young 50s and try to keep up with current styles. Would love your feedback. Thanks so much!
I guess I’m old fashion. But I live in California, and I dress up quite often. I have people asked me where I’m going. If I have an occasion where I’m going to a wedding I dress up ,you only live once why not look your very best.🇺🇸
Great video Melissa. I absolutely live in dungarees! I have slouchy, casual types (from Lucy and Yak) for home, and in the office I wear Fat Face. I pair them with a pretty, feminine blouse and smart trainers. It is a look I love! ❤
We are our own worst critics!! You have great legs!! I don't look good in beige, but I do look good in white. If I do same capsule with navy, white, would you use the same cognac color for shoes, belts and bags?
@@mmpersonalstyling thank you. I didn't want to come across as trying to get free styling advice, so I hope a yes or no question wasn't too intrusive!!
I was finally tempted by the oatmeal Reiss jumper. I did think it was too expensive by far, and it is for me, but it looks so fabulous and I know I will wear it constantly. Especially as I want to cover my arms. I’ve got a cashmere hoody in a similar colour and absolutely love it.
Hi Trish. Can I possibly ask what size you are vs what size you went for please? I’m a 10 and tried a small on but it was very fitted and am thinking maybe I’ll give the medium a go so it hangs better. Thank you
I enjoy your videos, was super excited to see Sezane featured in one of your former videos. I live in rural America, SURROUNDED by farmland. I have never and will never wear dungarees. To be clear, I live in a village, not large enough to be a city and still give a hard no to bibs, dungarees, etc. Sorry. Maybe other love them, but not here. I've never seen one woman dressed in those. Farmers...maybe, but super rare! Even they prefer practical!
That’s ok, that’s why it’s called ‘personal’ style, you don’t have to like everything and you’re at a huge advantage of being able to fast forward over anything you don’t like - simple!
Hi Melissa, thanks for a great video as always! I love the Reiss Avril jumper and have bought it but had to return twice due to its propensity to snag on jewellery and hair clips. Have you found this problem? Do you have any alternatives that are slightly more robust you could suggest please? It is really lovely and fills a gap in my wardrobe that I didn’t know existed 😅
Oh no! No, I haven't had that issue at all and i've worn my loads (and i've always got a load of jewellery on!). In all honesty I haven't looked for an alternative but i'll keep my eye out for one and let you know...
Thank you for the great video and helpful tips again! Since I am a pear shape, I never wear white bottoms and I am so super sad to miss out on that part of styling. I stick to that rule: darker bottoms and brighter tops to look slimmer. Still, when I see how great you look in white shorts or jeans, I wish to break that rule 😂
If you’re a pear shape it’s not the trousers you should focus on, it’s the top! Absolutely wear white on the bottom BUT you have to then balance out your top half by wearing something to broaden your shoulders. Try it, what have you got to lose?!?!
I have an olive green Marks and Spencer dungaree style dress which for which I have had many compliments and I thought looked nice, until I met friends in a cafe for lunch and saw the waiting staff were wearing almost identical aprons. We had a good laugh, but I won't wear it there again.
Which jumper are you referring to please? Can you tell me the time stamp (i deal with hundreds of items of clothes per week so i can't recall it off the top of my head, sorry to be a pain!). Let me know and i'll try and help you. Thank you x
It’s on both the uk and the us board. Look under where the title plays and click on your closest countries link and you’ll see it towards the bottom of the board.
Hey Melissa, dungarees are a no for me, reminds me of the presenters on Playschool back in the 70's 😂, you look great though, as always, how do you do it?! Cut outs, again no, my cellulite would be popping through the holes😂. You have fabulous legs. Mine have cellulite, thread veins, red dots, wrinkly knobbly knees, I've worn nothing shorter than a maxi skirt most of my life as I can't bear to look at my legs 🫣. You look amazing x
Hi Melissa. What a great video. I love everything but the Reiss jumper is such a good staple item. I went to a Reiss outlet on Friday and picked up some lovely shorts, trousers and a beautiful camel blazer. Since following your advice I’ve sold a lot of my old clothes on Vinted and focus on a capsule wardrobe. Everything is just easier and I feel so nice wearing lighter colours. Can I ask where the tan wedges are from please that you have on with the white jeans? Joanne x
They’re on the board for you (follow the link in the description box where it shows you everything you’ll see on the video but to answer your question they’re from Me&Em.
Love your videos Melissa and I know you list everything but I wish you hadn’t stopped mentioning (just really quickly) where everything is from just to save me having to search below.

I'm from the U.S. I would never show up to a wedding, christening or the like dressed casually unless the host expressly stated that the attire was casual.
Melissa, those outfitss are still too fancy for a US barbecue, lol. (Ok, maybe in Hollywood they'd work.) But they're gorgeous!! The dungarees and shorts are perfect! Congratulations on the success of your courses!
@@luckyyyinlove I'm from the U.S. and we dress up. lol. Maybe these people are from the Midwest or the great plains? On the east coast, west coast and the south people dress up for occasions.
Please if you have a chance could you please make a video styling a 40+ y.o. women apple shape and hourglass with belly for hot summer? Summer dresses are great but with 100D bust and 160 cm height sort of limited in what looks presentable and not boxy and frumpy :-)))
I have done some like that last summer and we have a string of body shape masterclasses coming up with larger mid 40’s and 50’s women. Plus, I’ve just hired a friend of mine to be a regular volunteer on the channel and she’s a uk 16/18 . She starts in a couple of weeks.
Loved all of the outfits apart from the dungarees which I do think only look good on toddlers. I'm also not a fan of the current trend of cut outs as most people, not you Melissa, carry weight on their sides and they would not be happy exposing that to the world.
To avoid breaking ASA legislation, you must always declare if a company, Karen Millen, as an example, are paying you to make this video, or if they’re not paying for your advert, did they send you any of these items for free. That needs declaring too. You should also make subscribers aware that by shopping from some of your links or LTK account, you will be earning commission from each sale and any further purchases from the same shop within a month, due to cookies left on the device used to purchase. Whether you’ve ever featured the item bought or not. Just trying to save you from trouble! 🙂
@@mmpersonalstyling No, it doesn’t say it’s an ad in the description box and I didn’t hear you mention anything about an ad either. You need to clearly label it as an ad and you need to explain that this video is a paid ad from K.M. You also need to clearly explain that a LTK account gives you commission from clicks and from cookies left on the subscriber’s device. You tell us how handy it is that all links are in one place but you didn’t then make people aware that you benefit financially, from people buying from your LTK account. I’ve done more apple shaped ladies than any other shape on here plus I’m beholden to the people who volunteer. I live in the middle of the countryside so there’s not an abundance of volunteers. Plus, RUclips isn’t my main job (and definitely not a large revenue earner) so I have to do this on the side at weekends and dressing volunteers takes 4/5 days out of my diary with the research, prep, filming and editing and some weeks I’m too busy working on my main job to stop and do that. Hopefully that explains.

Hi Melissa, where is the gorgeous raffia and tan handbag from pls? It looks like an alternative is in the link. Thanks! M.
It's an old zara one which is why we supplied a similar one for you.
@@mmpersonalstyling thank you so much! 💕
Great tips and you look great in all of the outfits 😍
Thank you!
Brake it! Rules were made to be broken 😀
If you’re a pear shape it’s not the trousers you should focus on, it’s the top! Absolutely wear white on the bottom BUT you have to then balance out your top half by wearing something to broaden your shoulders. Try it, what have you got to lose?!?!
@@mmpersonalstyling nothing to lose, you are right. Thanks so much 🤗
@@VikoolyaLV I just might! Thanks for the encouragement 😁
The US link does not seem to be working. Also, the flat leather slip-ins is not shown on the correct site. I would love to purchase them.
I can see that people have been on there but here’s the direct link for you www.moonsift.com/collection/mm_personal_styling2022/0vipyMvy2XmyGlocKbjA
Amazon do those sliders for about £15 and they see really comfortable.
I have an olive green Marks and Spencer dungaree style dress which for which I have had many compliments and I thought looked nice, until I met friends in a cafe for lunch and saw the waiting staff were wearing almost identical aprons. We had a good laugh, but I won't wear it there again.
🤣🤣
Hi, where's the light jumper from i can't see it in the transcript or items listed thankyou x
Which jumper are you referring to please? Can you tell me the time stamp (i deal with hundreds of items of clothes per week so i can't recall it off the top of my head, sorry to be a pain!). Let me know and i'll try and help you. Thank you x
Great video!!! Thank you
Hi Melissa, what are you wearing under the Reiss see through jumper which you can see @18:02?
It’s a nude bralet top.
@@mmpersonalstyling thank you
Love everything.x
Can’t find the fake tan link… it looks amazing ! Is there any “aroma”:? Tq
Apologies, I didn’t see them but now can . Thank you x
Love your videos Melissa and I know you list everything but I wish you hadn’t stopped mentioning (just really quickly) where everything is from just to save me having to search below.
Sorry Nancy but I film by myself, do the lighting, camera, editing, clothes selection and sometimes there’s too much going on to get everything in, that’s why linking everything covers me so you can do the last bit of research yourselves. X
Really enjoyed this latest video. I can not open the link for the US site, it says Private.
I can see that lots of people have been on there so I’m not sure why it’s saying that but here’s the direct link so fingers crossed it works for you www.moonsift.com/collection/mm_personal_styling2022/0vipyMvy2XmyGlocKbjA
I think you mean raffia. You might be getting raffia confused with taffeta when you say "raffeta". 😜
In the office they call it ‘Melissa-isms’ as I’m always getting my words mixed up!!! I blame the menopause 🤣🤣🤣
@@mmpersonalstyling Don’t worry we all know what you meant. I’m gonna start calling it raffeta from now on it’s cuter! 😘
I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned this, but what in the UK is a Jumper was a sleeveless dress that was worn with a blouse underneath, your Jumpers are Sweaters here. Interesting eh? 🇨🇦
👍
I'm from the U.S. I would never show up to a wedding, christening or the like dressed casually unless the host expressly stated that the attire was casual.
Noted, thank you x
Like the flat strap sandals. Where did you purchase? Thanks
Everything is linked for you. Look under where the title is on the video and follow the link x
It’s funny that you know about hillbillies lol 😂
Love the dresses but still wouldn’t wear to a barbecue in the US…
We definitely have different dressing requirements here in the uk compared to the states!
Those wooden platforms are beautiful but look painful😮 and groove is in the heart😂
No, they’re honestly super comfy because the heel height is so small as the platform gives you the height without the angle in your foot.
Please consider showing styling using flat shoes.
I always show a flat shoe as well...
Melissa, those outfitss are still too fancy for a US barbecue, lol. (Ok, maybe in Hollywood they'd work.) But they're gorgeous!! The dungarees and shorts are perfect! Congratulations on the success of your courses!
Thank you Gina!
Don't you guys dress up?
@@mmpersonalstyling Thank you! I just watched, its great!
You have beautiiful legs! Do not tell yourself a lie regarding your body!
Thank you!!
That’s why the announcement came up at the start and the declaration is also made in the description box. Not sure how you missed both things?
@@mmpersonalstyling No, it doesn’t say it’s an ad in the description box and I didn’t hear you mention anything about an ad either. You need to clearly label it as an ad and you need to explain that this video is a paid ad from K.M. You also need to clearly explain that a LTK account gives you commission from clicks and from cookies left on the subscriber’s device. You tell us how handy it is that all links are in one place but you didn’t then make people aware that you benefit financially, from people buying from your LTK account. I’m just trying to be kind and save you from ASA fines etc. 🙂
Loved everything in this video....and you have great legs, dont worry ❤
What about we apple-like ladies? The last few style videos did NOT include apple body shape Really disappointed
I’m sure Melissa will do more in the future. I think it’s hard to please every shape.
Thank you Trish. X
Love you and your videos but just to let you know, “hillbilly” is derogatory. :/
Noted, thank you 🙏
