Not very happy to see so much Islam in an ancient Christian cathedral. I will not exactly be aloud do do something like this in a mosque. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
It's one of the nation's churches, what you see here is PEOPLE, regardless of faith, coming together to mourn, comfort and remember. It's also inter-faith, both Christianity and Islam and Judaism are Abrahamic religions, the same God.
What do you find heretical? This Anglican Cathedral was used for organizing and holding a memorial for people of all faiths and of no faith who tragically died in a terrible fire. From the standpoint of Anglican, Muslim and Judaic faith there was nothing at odds with the official teachings of those groups. Nor with the teaching of other faith representatives who were presenty, including Free Church, Salvation Army, Christian Orthodox, Roman Catholic and other clergyj. Since the service took place in an Anglican church, under the supervision of Anglican prelates and with the permission of Her Majesty the Queen, who sent her son Charles and two of her grandchildren to represent her, there cannot be any real question of heresy except from the standpoint of Anglican doctrine. There was no violation of Article VI of the Anglican Articles of Religion, which says nothing may be taught or required that cannot be proven by Holy Scripture. A choir of Muslim girls sang a "nasheed" (hymn) in Arabic, entitled "In cha' Allah" (God willing) which in its essence reminded us of Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane just before he was arrested. Jesus ask that he be spared the cup of suffering but that he would nevertheless submit himself to God's will. Nothing in any of the English language songs and hymns went beyond orthodox teachings. Jesus taught us to pray like he did (the Lord's Prayer) and the entire assembly present stood and had the opportunity to recite that prayer. The Cathedral may be a place primarily for Christian prayer, but it is God's House. When Jesus cast the money changers out of the Temple, he reminded all of house that "My house shall be a house of prayer for all people". Have you forgotten the teaching St. Paul in the Acts of the Apostles (17:26)? [God]...hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth...." We are all brothers and sisters.
Anyone can request to use a church for a memorial service including non-Christians. I'm sure some churches would have some policies in-place of what they deem acceptable or not. However, I think calling this 'pure heresy' is a stretch. It's not a standard church service, it's a memorial service. Many churches love to serve their communities in a manner similar to this.
God bless these brave people
Rest in peace joshua 😢
