As a long-time Italian tennis fan you guys have no idea how freaking happy I am to see 2 Italians facing each other in the quarter finals of a Masters 1000, what a time to be alive! Congrats to Lorenzo, this win's gonna be a huge boost for his confidence and that's exactly what he needed right now!
How good is Musetti? Really, he's been so inconsistent, but it speaks to his preference for big matches, He comes to life. I hadn't given him much of a chance vs Novak, but he just played better. Now the 2 Italians will battle. Wow!
Bravo Lorenzo! Ci hai regalato una grandissima emozione per questa vittoria incredible contro Novak.... il prossimo incontro con Jannik e' gia' leggenda, forza ragazzi! Forza azzurri!
4 of the 5 players who beat Djokovic at the French Open in the last 12 years were one-handers. The only two-hander who could beat him at Roland Garros in the last 12 years was Nadal. Cecchinato is hardly one of the best. Djokovic even lost to Evans at the Monte Carlo Masters. He really tends to struggle against one-handers, especially on clay. One-handers also have a higher win-loss ratio on clay against Nadal than two-handers.
@@roydondsa Tsitsipas, Cecchinato, Dimitrov, Kohlschreiber, Lopez, Robredo, Karlovic (his H2H with Djokovic is 2:1), Haas, Gasquet, Ljubicic... You know, you can hardly see a greater example of ignorance than discussions about the one-handed backhand on RUclips.

Novak is a true champion. Arguably the best tennis player in history, but it might be unfair to Roger, Rafa, and some of the greatest from the past like Sampras, Agassi, and more... I love this game. I'm not the type of person who is fanfix of 1 tennis player and for some reason tries to bash all other players, like so many times I've seen Novak fanfix's with pretty degrading comments towards who says Novak isn't great or people that for some stupid reason show hate toward Djokovic who is one of the best sportsperson the world has ever seen, and extremely successful in life, which is something those losers are far from achieving. He knows how great he is and he knows what is being young and beating the best player in the world. His attitude, smile, hug, says it all. Novak is a true legend and should be respected for all greatness we've witnessed. Tennis wouldn't have been the same without him. Those gladiator moments he's played over the years are just incredible and I will rewatch them probably forever over the course of the coming decades of so great it was. He respects every single player and people working on the tour. I truly feel blessed for having lived through this golden era on Tennis, and on Football too with Messi and Ronaldo. I love these sports in itself and it's just sad to see how many people feel so much of failure that all they do is try to fight with anyone online just because of opinions.
Musetti is kind of an enigma, he is able to beat Djokovic and Alcaraz during the season but can't have sustained success. Maybe he can keep it going a while longer this time.
Novak's first No. 1 defeat was at 2007 Canadian Masters when he won against Roger Federer in the Final, also in 3 sets. Lorenzo was 5 years old then...
LMAO, he shouldn't get too excited because he has to dance with someone who is more aggressive and ambitious than him, Jannik Sinner and he's going to beat him, period! C'mon Jannik! 💪🏻🎾🏆
What pisses me off about this is that he’s most likely going to lose within the next two matches, in spite of his talent and ability to win. I guess we’ll have to see. I wonder if that says anything for Djokovic and his current form. Hope to see him back on top of his game soon
Dear Novak such things happen. No winner wins always. But your are such an amazing player and person We are people and that is life, up and down. Next time, there is, a next time...Arto Rubinstein gave, a piano recital on China. This brilliant pianist was devastated by his performance Years later he gave a recital there again. Next, next time is better...
When playing a goat, a win is a win. So I understand why Musetti is emotional and happy. But this was not a good quality match lol from either player tbh.
@Andre To be picky, Tuscany is 300 to almost 600 km away from Montecarlo, depending on the various areas, while the closest Italian regions are Liguria and Piedmont (the border between France and Italy is about 15 km from Montecarlo, and is in Liguria)
@@francescojsb To be even more picky, the tournament is not played in Monte Carlo or even Monaco. It only has Monte Carlo in its name (that's what makes it so glorious, it is a long-standing custom for many less famous places to pretend they're their more famous neighbours), but it's played in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France.
@@J.-M. Correct observation, only that since it is called Monte Carlo and not Mont Charl, then it is also Roccabruna-Capo Martino (which is even closer to the border) 😊😄 Now, joking aside, everyone knows the Principality's main problem is space, the Country Club still seems to me to have been built on land purchased by the Principality. On the other hand, the Formula 1 San Marino Grand Prix has been held in Italy for years at the Imola racetrack which is located on Italian (and Romagna) territory, and San Marino is slightly larger than Monaco
@@francescojsb The fact that the tournament started in Monte Carlo in the 19th century and they moved it to France because of space constraints doesn't mean it is held in Monaco. It has been held in France in the last (almost) 100 years. Many countries (or organizations from various countries) own properties in other countries, that doesn't mean it's their country. International law doesn't work like that (even if you unilaterally decide to annex the land, which is, sadly, something that still happens in the 21st century). It's basically the same as Miami Masters, for example. They moved from the Key Biscane beach because of space restrictions to the glorious Hard Rock parking lot which gave them the opportunity to grow, so they got what they deserved... Which means the tournament is not held in Key BIscane anymore. Now, it's quite obvious that the real reason why Monte-Carlo Masters, the Monte Carlo Country Club and other buildings and facilities in the area pretend to be in Monte Carlo is prestige, image, attention. Monte Carlo is such a glorious, famous, noble place, which is also great for sponsors. Just imagine renaming the tournament to "Rolex Roquebrune-Cap-Martin Masters". That would be a commercial suicide. It's normal for many sports events like the Olympic Games to be held in places different from the cities that are actually advertised as the venue. Again, marketing is the king in the modern world. When it comes to money, fame and power, people have no problem lying.
