    As a long-term rural homesteader, I know this permaculture info is spot on! Health is everything; multiple income sources; water; energy... Great stuff here. Highly recommended!

    I stumbled across this video and had to look up Living Web Farms bc I couldn’t figure out where they were located. Turns out, North Carolina.
    Which explains some of what he’s saying. I live in the high desert of Idaho, and so our summers are hotter and drier (very little humidity) than in NC. Here, we don’t want much solar gain bc yes, during the winter it’s nice, but windows on the south during the summer will cook you alive.
    Also, no one uses the patios and outdoor living spaces except during the summer, and the north side of any building means cooler temps, so we WANT our patios built on the north side. If you build a patio on the south side of the house here, that’s pretty much a guarantee that it’ll never be used. It’s too cold outside during the winter to spend time hanging out on a patio (no matter where it’s located!) and it’s too hot during the summer to be on a southern exposure patio.
    So for us, a north patio with protection from the worst of the summer heat is really ideal.
    Anyway, I enjoyed this overall, I truly did. I’m about to watch part two. But for anyone who isn’t in NC, I just wanted to give you a shout out and say that if your experience isn’t matching what he’s saying, you’re not alone. 💕

    Not a good speaker. Rambling, repetitive, super low information transfer. My 9 year old writes book reports with a higher bit rate.

      @Dinka Boutit
      He did well.
      He is a decent speaker, but not as fluent as others might be. Or as you might like. And he was a bit nervous. You can hear some tension in his breathing (diaphragm tense, swallowing multiple times in short sequences to get rid of tension in neck and upper chest), he "dances" around a bit and shakes his leg to alleviate pressure. All these things considered, he did well.

      Also he finished his points, answered questions, didn't overflow his audience with information, didn't used pretentious terminology, his bullet points on power point were easy to read and catch on, he drew on table for a more comprehensive understanding. And for a foreigner as me which English is not my native language, I really learnt crucial new information with easiness, effectivness and in one run.

      I bet your 9 year old has better manners also, but that's likely due to the damage you have imparted in their self-esteem. I feel sorry for your kid. Hopefully you don't make the same type of comments to them.
