When a group debuts, often before anyone even knows anything about them, some fans and Kpop media try to label all the members with "main" this and "lead" that labels that often don't even make any sense, and will often spam up social media with fake lists of "main" and "lead" positions. (And if they get repeated often enough, you end up with millions of fans who think the "main" positions are official and they'll try to fight you if you ever try to show them that they're wrong.) In fact, when Blackpink officially debuted, their company only announced that the members had certain specialties in the group, exactly like this: Jisoo - Vocals; Jennie - Vocals/Rap; Rose - Vocals; Lisa - Rap/Dance. There literally is no ranking. The vocal line mostly do vocals. The rap line mostly do rap. Jennie splits between vocals and rap. Lisa mainly raps (and was NEVER ranked lower than Jennie as a rapper in the group). They also can do other things (Lisa also sings sometimes. Jisoo sometimes raps, etc. And of course they all dance.) What they actually do as a group makes more sense when you know what their company actually said about their specialties. Their company (and the group) has never said anything different. The live acoustic version is good, very stripped back, but the album version goes a lot more hard. They changed it up for their online show, but I feel it doesn't have the same kick. Thanks for the reaction! The funny thing about the "main rapper" versus "lead rapper" thing is that those aren't even real rankings or positions. When a group debuts, often before anyone even knows anything about them, some fans and Kpop media try to label all the members with "main" this and "lead" that labels that often don't even make any sense, and will often spam up social media with fake lists of "main" and "lead" positions. (And if they get repeated often enough, you end up with millions of fans who think the "main" positions are official and they'll try to fight you if you ever try to show them that they're wrong.) In fact, when Blackpink officially debuted, their company only announced that the members had certain specialties in the group, exactly like this: Jisoo - Vocals; Jennie - Vocals/Rap; Rose - Vocals; Lisa - Rap/Dance. There literally is no ranking. The vocal line mostly do vocals. The rap line mostly do rap. Jennie splits between vocals and rap. Lisa mainly raps (and was NEVER ranked lower than Jennie as a rapper in the group). They also can do other things (Lisa also sings sometimes. Jisoo sometimes raps, etc. And of course they all dance.) What they actually do as a group makes more sense when you know what their company actually said about their specialties. Their company (and the group) has never said anything different. Of course, like I said, there are millions of fans who think the "main" this and "lead" that positions are real (just because of constant repetition by other fans and Kpop media that does no research), so the confusion will continue forever. (The "main" and "lead" designations themselves don't even make any sense, since traditionally they have meant the same thing when talking about bands and groups, e.g. the "lead singer" means the same thing as the "main singer".)

It's not that anymore. It used to be that way before but after D4 everyone saw how she draws in attention even with her short 15 seconds of rap in D4. After that, Most of the people prefer Lisa's raps that's why producers tend to give her more raps.
Jennie is the main rapper but over time as BP has gained popularity in the western part of the world YG has grown to realize Lisa is the type of rapper we prefer and enjoy with her just OOZING swag so I’m not remotely surprised on an all English song that Lisa has the rap over Jennie just because of that. Jennie is the main rapper, but Lisa raps the most cause Jennie is also a lead singer and kind of the center of the group, so she sings almost all chorus and usually starts the songs to give the vibe so that leaves Lisa to do the rap parts. Lisa also has the american swag, so international people tend to like her rapping style the most, but Jennie has the korean style of rapping (fast and fierce with complicated play of words), so korean like Jennie the most (and the group is from korea, so that's why she's the main rapper, but Jenlisa has equal abilities, but different styles for different publics)
The live acoustic version is good, very stripped back, but the album version goes a lot more hard. They changed it up for their online show, but I feel it doesn't have the same kick.
Anyway check out Pretty Savage - colour coded lyrics next. One of their best songs, it has similar vibe as How You Like That and Dudududu but the superior version.

Jennie has her kind of rapping style. skill-wise, TBH lisa got more advantage...she can RAP slow, fast, on beat, steady voice, steady breathing, she can hold quite a long breath when she's rapping, so her flow is great, her pronunciation were very clear (slow or fast rap), she also can rap in many different style, different changing beat and most of all... she got swag. Jennie also good...but she is not yet as versatile as lisa. But still she's much much more better than most korean girl group's rapper. They both are the best actually as compared to other korean gg.
Jennie's singing voice is really good and more importantly, her singing tone and pitch can match with rosé in their songs. jisoo got more deep rich tone...but she can pull high notes, which makes the three of them really suitable to alternate each other in a song. whilst lisa's voice is more deep and low tone, so normally her singing voice were used when there's a change in beat or parts. every single one of them has role in each and every blackpink songs. Thats why BP songs are all dope. Lisa got lease singing part because in most BP's song structure, the singing part more suitable with jennie, jisoo and rosé's voice while rapping part more suitable with lisa's voice. But that doesn't mean lisa can't sing! 🙄its just meant her vocal range and tone is different! GET THAT!? she has proved time and again...that she can sing! we can hear her sweet, melodic and powerful singing voice in many BP songs and her single and her collabs. why can't you hear that?
Of course when recording their song....the producer, composer and all production team has tried every combinations and different approach for every part to see who's the most suitable for each part so the whole song sounds good. its not because lisa "is not really a singer"!!!!
