I remember back when you were asking us whether you should rent or buy and a lot of us commented to buy. But, you decided to rent. That was back when you were looking for the apartment that you now have to leave due to the owners getting ready to sell it. And as far as holding out to find the so-called perfect place, well in reality, I have never found the perfect place, but still own a property.
If I wanted the perfect place, then I'd need to buy a plot of land, design the residence, and have it built from the ground up of which is not going to happen in this very upscale housing market. I realistically bought what I liked overall and what had good bones, so to speak, and then made some changes to suit more of my personal style and likes. And life moves on.

I remember this as well but back then, the reason for them not wanting to own a property was due to commitment as there were talks of them living outside the U.K which they still mentioned in this vlog. But then at the end of the day, they would do what is best for them and we can can only wish them the best of luck.
@@AlwaysNnenna I realize that that was a reason for them not buying, but then again the question was presented to all of us as to whether to rent or buy and many of us gave our opinions. In that original vlog, I also commented that even if they bought a place, they could rent it out if they decided to live in another country for a while. Folks commonly do it. Plus, the price of real estate is not going down anytime soon and there could be a point when one might not be able to afford a good place due to the price increases. Also with family that is obviously in the country where they presently live, I would assume that they would never totally leave their country. I've been traveling for five decades, but always come home. And I wasn't always a property owner, but when I decided to buy, I was still traveling overseas. However, I personally chose to not rent out my residence as I needed to come back in order to work.

Having to move when you weren’t expecting it is such an inconvenience! But you are blessed in the many options you have, namely family to stay with and money to rent or buy a new home. If these things are so upsetting that you have a negative physical reaction you should seriously find a therapist to learn better coping mechanisms. It will enrich your life to be able to better roll with life’s ups and downs. There are people in much worse situations who will never find redress.

Our reason for not buying is not due to lack of savings more so the commitment - but it is something we’re considering now because we’re struggling to find a rental we like :)
There was a documentary recently where they interviewed very wealthy women. These women are talking about how they no longer buy authentic wallets, but instead choose to buy really good wallets *condup* designer bags they love. They then invest the money they save in other things such as real estate, stocks, etc.

Unfortunately that's one of the many problems with renting. Why not consider buying a house? You can always rent it out as and when you need to? The £500+ Hermes horid horse, im sorry to say, was a waste of money. It looks very childish and certainly does not add to the bag (in fact it does the opposite).

Id love a range rover but my uncle has one and its constantly breaking and hes spent god knows how much getting it fixed and hes even had one broken into and stolen

I faced the same issue as my landlord was selling. If I’m going to be honest , you need a place to live and you can only rent what is available at the time. I would get a decent place to keep you going and focus on what you want to buy as your dream home in the next year
I feel exactly the same as you about where l live… the same thing happened to us at the start of the year.. it’s distressing…. I was in a panic … it will work out ❤

Yes but it’s not a property I’d like to buy and live in permanently, I would’ve loved to been able to rent it for another year and then buy a house rather than a flat

Hi Noorie, I’m sure you guys have thought about this but will the new owners of the flat be renting out the space again? Maybe a conversation can be had with the buyers if they are not planning to live there themselves. Something to consider
That was the first thing we asked when our landlord told us he’s sold the flat, unfortunately (for us) the new owners have bought the flat to live there themselves
