Instead of explaining Future Trunks Super Sayian Rage, they plain just don’t give him it at all so he gets sidelined in his own arc. Mastered SSB makes sense written down, but actually being drawn makes it confusing as the only visual difference is the lack of Aura. So now we have to question whether or not if a character is mastered blue or just doesn’t have an Aura at the moment. Plus I still have a hard time buying it was enough to fight a fusion. Also merged Zamasu having a time limit and somehow changing the way his regeneration abilities was lame compared to having his soul survive alone. For the T.O.P my main problem is that the other universes get treated with way less respect then anime ever did, at that point why even have them. I think Goku not fighting Black, while maybe disappointing, leads to more interesting fights than just a mirror match. Blacks body may be older but he also has a Kaioshin spirit and is adapting to Goku's body as time goes on. I don't remember it being the act, just that keeping it on for long periods of time quickly drains strength, so just flaring it for a hit is more effective. Rage was anime only, so them explaining it wouldn't make much sense. Plus he still gets the final hit on Zamasu pre his evolution. Mastered Blue is pretty much the default after a character acquires it, so there's no point in making it more distinct. Plus Zamasu was raging while Goku had perfect ki control, which is proven to affect the power of someone. Merged Zamasu's spirit surviving in the anime was super silly, he became a nothing character.
A few things: I largely disagree with goku black. I think the arc isnt great in either iteration, but its definetly better in the manga, and the anime did alot of it purely for coolness factor instead of what makes sense. Goku vs Goku black, while a matchup that wouldve been sick, also makes sense why it didnt happen. You wouldnt want goku fighting black because black is using gokus body. The 2 people who know how goku fights the best are goku and vegeta, and you wouldnt want the guy whos trying to learn how to most effectively use his body fighting the person who has the body, you want him fighting the person who knows all of gokus tricks, yet also doenst use the ones that black doesnt know yet. Rage, while a nice concept to bring trunks up to speed, doesnt make much sense at all. Its a rage boost on top of ssj2, yet its somehow not like the rage boosts weve seen before? Its an anime form, theres no reason to include it if theres no real concept to its existence. I agree with the zenkai boost limit though, that wasnt all too great, but zenkais are pretty broken so I understand that they dont want the "get beaten up, permenant boost, get healed, get beaten up, permenant boost, get healed" thing to come into play ever for goku and vegeta. For god and blue, I thought it was explained that it wasnt the act of switching to blue, but maintaining blue that makes it so energy draining, so vegeta coulnt maintain it. But there are a few different translations done by different teams. As for the lack of aura with mssb, I find it to be a pretty good difference and consistient with how mastered forms are drawn by toyoutaro. It shows how no energy is being wasted, its the form in its peak, all the power in it flowing well. But I do agree, it shouldnt rival a fusion at all. Its apparently a leap at least as big if not bigger from ssg to ssb, because the full power of ssb is only shown in the first instant its transformed, then it begins to drop down, till eventually it falls off too much in stats and is too hard to maintain. This also ties in to why the ssg->ssb was so effective, it only used the instant that ssb was at its strongest, the instant where it is powered up into, and dodnt stay in to form which would just be diminishing returns as it gets weaker as time goes on. So mssb makes sense that its way strobger than normal ssb because ssb falls off as time goes on while mssb is always in that "transformation power" state, but keeping up with a fusion is crazy. As for zamasus end, neither version makes much sense to me, but his soul surviving fits with how both souls are kai soul, yet the body is an immortal and a mortal one, so that didnt survive. The point of zamasu is that everything he does is contradictory, from his beliefs, his body, his plans, hes a paradox in ever sense of it, and the anime does that better for sure. TOP, I thinks its 50/50. I liked uis goku fighting kefla, but I like how gohan is shown to keep up with an ssj2/zerker fusion(even if individualky theyre far weaker than the u7 saiyans), because it shows how hard he trained before the top. His fights in the anime and small details added were great, showing how he also had empathy for fighters with families. Dyspo was def cooler in the anime. And yeah, the anime definitely did the other universes more justice in terms of fighters, while in the manga most were done it quicker. The manga did u7 better as it didnt feel as much like goku time but had a bit more of everyone, but the anime def did the other universes better if we ignore the gods of destruction fight, evry univers had at least one fighter who even if thy didnt do much, did something.
Generally I agree that the DBS manga is better than the anime. The Only thing I’m 100% confident that was done better in the anime was the finale of the TOP with Goku & Freeza fighting Jiren (and Jiren’s fight with 17/Freeza and the resolve from Toppo)
I’d like to see that reverse too! I know there are flaws, but that’s the one I latched onto, since it premiered on RUclips (with some dubious legality) and the games follow it, mostly! I personally like the slice-o-life scenes and even the straight up filler! Some cheesy, some sweet, all very nice additions to the story!
Smugstick I have a suggestion you know the video that you made what if caulifla was Goku’s sister I was wondering if you could make something similar to that like what if kale was Broly’s sister and what if cabba was Vegeta’s brother, I know Vegeta has a brother somewhere in the universe, but how Vegeta treats cabba I honestly think that it would be interesting
I'd love to see you tackle OGDB and Z And do some Heroes contents damniiiiit :)))) especially now that it's been announced Toyo's finishing Victory Mission?!!
Roshis power level was so low that Jiren had to lower his own just to not kill him, that includes his speed so when roshi exceeded jirens estimated power level of Roshi then Roshi was able to outperform him briefly but Jiren didn't take damage. People get way too worked up about that and it makes 0 sense as to why because we literally have always had power adjusting lore in Dragonball.
11:27 but they immediately follow it up with the dumbest line about Broly, Jiren, Moro, and Gas about keen disciplined martial artist or something along those lines.
I read the manga after the anime, dear god. The differences are insane. One has what the other doesn't.... and it kinda hurts tbh. On the anime, we have SSB goku.... and Vegeta, that's weird. On the champa tournament, they DID mastered the form, thats why goku could stack up KK, up to the black saga SSB is solid, but it still bugs me how vegeta obtained it, but i can't say much since goku didn't used ssg until TOP On the manga, we have both with both forms, that's better... but when we get to champa, they "supposedly " mastered the form, but it still has downsides (heavy ones i must say)... really? On mastered? I get that the scaling this, scaling that, but at least keep it co sistent. The damage was already done since BoG. Another example, but this one is on your face... Anime goku black has character, but he's too broken (which i personally think that's better) On the manga, we have just another evil goku... but he's not THAT broken, and neither has power ups that are THAT high.
Honestly, the GREATLY rushed schedule of releases for both the anime and manga really made biggest money-hungry stains on Dragonball as an IP to me personally. But man, the different takes on the arcs are genuinely great sometimes.
The truth is that although part of me mostly prefers anime, the manga always seemed to me to be an essential and very amazing part of everything that is Super in general and I will always feel grateful to have read along with the anime all this time
Everyone knows that the DBS manga is better than the anime. In the anime MUI Goku gave the Multiverse's strongest THE BUSINESS while in the manga Jiren kept up with and almost surpassed MUI Goku. In the anime Zeno erased Zamasu. In the manga Goku used an imperfect HAKAI to halfway erase him!! Same storyline two slightly different outcomes😆🤏
me personnaly the goku black arc in the manga was way better the anime version, 1 trunks does not get rage 2 vegeta used ssg and ssjb , and goku using perfected super sayain blue.
The manga does better in some parts; with utilising the supreme Kai better and making it clearer as to what’s happening but the anime has better character stuff. With Trunks and Gohan for example.
I'm still prefer the anime version more overall for offering a more complete and epic experience for the arcs with stake and slightly more thematic than the manga version of the 1st 4 arcs. I do find characterizations, even Goku's, more preferable than manga characterization as well.
The reason for why is simple. The manga feels like it’s written like an actual story, where the anime feels like it was written like Episode of Bardock.
Its all fun and games till Dragon Ball Daima comes in, a arc is made for the super manga, anime follows a different story and a new manga called Dragon Ball Super Daima follows its own story
I will never ever forgive the manga for not giving us a Goku vs Goku Black fight. What's even the point of having an evil Goku then? And don't even get me started on UI Roshi (But Toyo at least tried to explain UI, sadly he took the worst way possible).
i always hated the DBS anime for being so utterly trash despite having a myriad of people working on it. started off rushed, and when they got in the groove to be making it good, they turned it into something i can't even describe... but alas the fanbase should have seen it coming when we had GT to show us the difference in quality between toriyama's work and toei's work. the manga version may not be perfect, but it did so much that the anime messed up badly. i mean look at the first arc, adapted well, introduced champa to segue into his tournament arc, gave SSG time to shine and be unique, the plot for the black arc was not a jumbled up mess and actually made sense timeline wise, the brief adaptation of future trunks vs babidi and dabura was fantastic, you could tell toyotaro is a fan. and as much as people hated on moro and granolah, i think those arcs showed that he was capable of writing a coherent storyline. Moro was a combination of what made all of toriyama's iconic villains great, and the granolah arc was a successful experiment of new storywriting beyond the scope of what dragonball ever touched, same goes for his interpretation of the zamasu arc. hell, even the DBS Superhero arc in the manga is superior to the movie in my opinion simply by including more backstory and trunks and goten. the biggest sadness with this manga is that he skipped the golden freeza arc and the broly movie, which we KNOW the script for that one was about 3 hours long and had to be cut down for cinema release, toei still keeps the original script away from fans and i doubt it'll ever see the light of day, so we'll never know what toriyama had written, which we know was primarily to do with the first half set in the past on planet vegeta. all in all i always felt the anime was an overglorified ad for toys and merch that clearly targeted children (if zenou in the ToP isn't what toei thinks DB fans are like then i'll sell both my kidneys) i was always willing to die on this hill and i don't care about being called a hater, i call out crap when i see it, and DBS was nothing more than DragonBullShit. forget about the animation being bad and forgive the poor animators who had to crunch like crazy for the higher ups' greed, but look at the writing... - absolutely no sense of powerscaling, SSB was overused and underutilized,. - they forgot SSG existed after the first arc, made the RoF arc, which was arguably toriyama's worst writing, somehow worse than the movie version. and you could see the poison start leaking when they ripped off piccolo's sacrifice with 0 buildup, 0 consequence, 0 emotion, just a scene to fill the 20 minute timeslot if you ask me. - illogically treated hit's timeskip as both a jump to the future and as Za Warudo at once (really, go watch that arc again and tell me it's consistent, i dare you) - SSB Kaioken was absolute BS, looked ugly, and although they had goku say it's too dangerous to ever use again (after illogically jumping to 10x from first use) they had him use it like it's nothing at 20x times in the ToP arc, and somehow forgot about it in the zamasu arc save for one scene where it made -1 sense... really? you just broke your arms winning a beam clash, somehow being stronger than trunks and vegeta combined (when vegeta was established to be loads stronger than goku at that point in the arc after the beatdown he gave black) and now you're using kaioken for a freaking kick combo? WHAT? - the potaefu filler arc was the worst and i am already committing a cardinal sin even remembering it exists or mention it. - goku black had nothing to do with zamasu personality wise the entire time, and when they fused it was like he disappeared... either make him the character he's supposed to be, or have him influence the fused version like goku's body supposedly influenced the zamasu inside it, pick a freaking lane! the ending was trash, vegito was shoehorned in for fake-ass hype and yeeted out with the absolute worst retcon imagineable. and don't get me started on the time travel shenanigans and how none of it made any sense no matter how you tried to crack it - the tournament of power literally had different writers cycling their role on different episodes, clearly did not bother reading each others' scripts to keep the story consistent, and the worst of all is the amount of beloved moments from DBZ that they plagiarized in that arc (looking at you, vegeta), longest freaking 48 minutes of my life. the only good things about that arc were ultra instinct, which they abused to the ground by having goku tap into it 3 separate times, then completely forgot how it functions (calm heart and no emotion) BY MAKING GOKU GET MAD IN THE CLIMAX OF THE FIGHT AND IT NOT BEING THE REASON HE LOST THE FORM A FEW SECONDS LATER. Jiren was literally just right click>new folder, nothing interesting, sasuke-head-aah backstory that was better off not being there. and i could go on and on with specifics. meanwhile toyotaro did his best and had toriyama's direct feedback on the writing, so really the manga was the closest we'd get to toriyama writing the full story. it wasn't perfect nor anything better than a 6.5/10 in my book, but at least it didn't make me feel like someone beat my favorite childhood show to an inch of its life and the murdered it in cold blood for freaking money in front of my eyes. but the worst of all? the fans, hating on the manga cause it's not animated or full of flashy colors. mfs can't read, and i doubt any will have read this comment lmao thanks for coming to my tedtalk, and if you think i'm capping or wrong, then you're mentally disabled, sorry not sorry
It’s so weird how back when the anime was airing and people were hoping for the anime to return, they (not you) called the manga trash, only for the fanbase 2024 to show the manga some love for once XD

Beautiful pause 😂
LMAO
Generally I agree that the DBS manga is better than the anime. The Only thing I’m 100% confident that was done better in the anime was the finale of the TOP with Goku & Freeza fighting Jiren (and Jiren’s fight with 17/Freeza and the resolve from Toppo)
I agree for sure, the last rush is so great
I’d like to see that reverse too! I know there are flaws, but that’s the one I latched onto, since it premiered on RUclips (with some dubious legality) and the games follow it, mostly!
I personally like the slice-o-life scenes and even the straight up filler! Some cheesy, some sweet, all very nice additions to the story!
I def agree that the super anime shines in the smaller moments like that
Your most legendary video yet
Thank you brother!
Great video!
Thanks very much!
Amazing video!! Less cooks but worse pacing beecausemonthly just doesn't fit lol
Smugstick I have a suggestion you know the video that you made what if caulifla was Goku’s sister I was wondering if you could make something similar to that like what if kale was Broly’s sister and what if cabba was Vegeta’s brother, I know Vegeta has a brother somewhere in the universe, but how Vegeta treats cabba I honestly think that it would be interesting
this video changed my life, truly cinema.
I’m hoping DBS continues is loved my many
Same
Damn, you put that pin right through Oatmeel.
I'd love to see you tackle OGDB and Z
And do some Heroes contents damniiiiit :)))) especially now that it's been announced Toyo's finishing Victory Mission?!!
I like dragon ball
Correction, I love dragon ball
On the champa tournament, they DID mastered the form, thats why goku could stack up KK, up to the black saga SSB is solid, but it still bugs me how vegeta obtained it, but i can't say much since goku didn't used ssg until TOP
On the manga, we have both with both forms, that's better... but when we get to champa, they "supposedly " mastered the form, but it still has downsides (heavy ones i must say)... really? On mastered? I get that the scaling this, scaling that, but at least keep it co sistent. The damage was already done since BoG.
Another example, but this one is on your face...
Anime goku black has character, but he's too broken (which i personally think that's better)
On the manga, we have just another evil goku... but he's not THAT broken, and neither has power ups that are THAT high.
i wish the universe 7 spirit bomb was made in the manga imagine that
Awesome and informative video!
Glad you liked it!!
SmugStick, awesome video keep up the amazing work
Honestly, the GREATLY rushed schedule of releases for both the anime and manga really made biggest money-hungry stains on Dragonball as an IP to me personally.
But man, the different takes on the arcs are genuinely great sometimes.
They should do an audiobook of DBS and have Kyle Hubert narrate
The anime just made sequel for the OG canon... The TFS version..... PECKING ORDER
the legit only thing holding the manga back is originally jkust being a promotional and its monthly schedule
i never had a problem with krilen getting beat by the bee since if hedo can make the gammas im sure his bee is op also i think its hella funny
The truth is that although part of me mostly prefers anime, the manga always seemed to me to be an essential and very amazing part of everything that is Super in general and I will always feel grateful to have read along with the anime all this time
Me personally id like to see gohan train goten and trunks if the dbs manga ever continues
Now do the opposite: When the Dragon Ball Super Anime is BETTER Than the Manga
Almost never happens, but there are some gems
@@gabrielmachado1247 just another manga only reader, the same ones that crave for the anime to be back
Yeah if people enjoy this video then I definitely want to tackle that idea in the future
I've always perfer the Manga's take on Zamasu where he splits into multiple versions of himself instead of him becoming faces in the sky.
Never really been a fan of manga but honestly I might just try the DBS manga from the start. The anime just messes up too many things for me. 😮
The manga does better in some parts; with utilising the supreme Kai better and making it clearer as to what’s happening but the anime has better character stuff. With Trunks and Gohan for example.
now i wonder how many small or big differenece between the english and japanese manga if there are any
I'm still prefer the anime version more overall for offering a more complete and epic experience for the arcs with stake and slightly more thematic than the manga version of the 1st 4 arcs. I do find characterizations, even Goku's, more preferable than manga characterization as well.
The reason for why is simple. The manga feels like it’s written like an actual story, where the anime feels like it was written like Episode of Bardock.
The anime had 5 writers
Its all fun and games till Dragon Ball Daima comes in, a arc is made for the super manga, anime follows a different story and a new manga called Dragon Ball Super Daima follows its own story

I gotta give it a third read through
You should!!
@@SmugStick Right after I finish my 4th run of Dragon Ball manga
I will never ever forgive the manga for not giving us a Goku vs Goku Black fight. What's even the point of having an evil Goku then? And don't even get me started on UI Roshi (But Toyo at least tried to explain UI, sadly he took the worst way possible).
I have bought most of the Super Manga, I’m loving the Manga more than the anime, but anime is good
i always hated the DBS anime for being so utterly trash despite having a myriad of people working on it. started off rushed, and when they got in the groove to be making it good, they turned it into something i can't even describe... but alas the fanbase should have seen it coming when we had GT to show us the difference in quality between toriyama's work and toei's work.
the manga version may not be perfect, but it did so much that the anime messed up badly. i mean look at the first arc, adapted well, introduced champa to segue into his tournament arc, gave SSG time to shine and be unique, the plot for the black arc was not a jumbled up mess and actually made sense timeline wise, the brief adaptation of future trunks vs babidi and dabura was fantastic, you could tell toyotaro is a fan. and as much as people hated on moro and granolah, i think those arcs showed that he was capable of writing a coherent storyline. Moro was a combination of what made all of toriyama's iconic villains great, and the granolah arc was a successful experiment of new storywriting beyond the scope of what dragonball ever touched, same goes for his interpretation of the zamasu arc. hell, even the DBS Superhero arc in the manga is superior to the movie in my opinion simply by including more backstory and trunks and goten. the biggest sadness with this manga is that he skipped the golden freeza arc and the broly movie, which we KNOW the script for that one was about 3 hours long and had to be cut down for cinema release, toei still keeps the original script away from fans and i doubt it'll ever see the light of day, so we'll never know what toriyama had written, which we know was primarily to do with the first half set in the past on planet vegeta.
all in all i always felt the anime was an overglorified ad for toys and merch that clearly targeted children (if zenou in the ToP isn't what toei thinks DB fans are like then i'll sell both my kidneys)
i was always willing to die on this hill and i don't care about being called a hater, i call out crap when i see it, and DBS was nothing more than DragonBullShit. forget about the animation being bad and forgive the poor animators who had to crunch like crazy for the higher ups' greed, but look at the writing...
- illogically treated hit's timeskip as both a jump to the future and as Za Warudo at once (really, go watch that arc again and tell me it's consistent, i dare you)
- SSB Kaioken was absolute BS, looked ugly, and although they had goku say it's too dangerous to ever use again (after illogically jumping to 10x from first use) they had him use it like it's nothing at 20x times in the ToP arc, and somehow forgot about it in the zamasu arc save for one scene where it made -1 sense... really? you just broke your arms winning a beam clash, somehow being stronger than trunks and vegeta combined (when vegeta was established to be loads stronger than goku at that point in the arc after the beatdown he gave black) and now you're using kaioken for a freaking kick combo? WHAT?
- the potaefu filler arc was the worst and i am already committing a cardinal sin even remembering it exists or mention it.
- goku black had nothing to do with zamasu personality wise the entire time, and when they fused it was like he disappeared... either make him the character he's supposed to be, or have him influence the fused version like goku's body supposedly influenced the zamasu inside it, pick a freaking lane! the ending was trash, vegito was shoehorned in for fake-ass hype and yeeted out with the absolute worst retcon imagineable. and don't get me started on the time travel shenanigans and how none of it made any sense no matter how you tried to crack it
- the tournament of power literally had different writers cycling their role on different episodes, clearly did not bother reading each others' scripts to keep the story consistent, and the worst of all is the amount of beloved moments from DBZ that they plagiarized in that arc (looking at you, vegeta), longest freaking 48 minutes of my life. the only good things about that arc were ultra instinct, which they abused to the ground by having goku tap into it 3 separate times, then completely forgot how it functions (calm heart and no emotion) BY MAKING GOKU GET MAD IN THE CLIMAX OF THE FIGHT AND IT NOT BEING THE REASON HE LOST THE FORM A FEW SECONDS LATER. Jiren was literally just right click>new folder, nothing interesting, sasuke-head-aah backstory that was better off not being there.
and i could go on and on with specifics.
meanwhile toyotaro did his best and had toriyama's direct feedback on the writing, so really the manga was the closest we'd get to toriyama writing the full story. it wasn't perfect nor anything better than a 6.5/10 in my book, but at least it didn't make me feel like someone beat my favorite childhood show to an inch of its life and the murdered it in cold blood for freaking money in front of my eyes.
but the worst of all? the fans, hating on the manga cause it's not animated or full of flashy colors. mfs can't read, and i doubt any will have read this comment lmao
thanks for coming to my tedtalk, and if you think i'm capping or wrong, then you're mentally disabled, sorry not sorry
Algorithm fuel ⛽
I hope the manga gets an official animated adaptation in the future.
I sorta doubt it currently but it would be interesting to see
if we get 2 more arcs/sagas
9:48 and it should have been this fight it was SOOOOO much better
Tbh anime Kefla absolutely destroys gohan easily, and we wouldn't have gotten that awesome slide Kamehameha
@@JC_616 I do agree, the kamehameha slide makes the anime fight worth it for me

As much as I don’t like U.I Gokou, I got admit, he is an absolute beast.
Kale in the manga was pretty cool
Yo, you're like the one other person who remembers the Infinite World credits song
7:05 now that's funny
Yup. I prefer the manga to the anime in a lot of ways.
10:54 🥰
Uni 6 Sadala Arc please
RIGHT
That’s honestly a shame that they decide to cut the destroyers fighting against one another from the anime.🐱
12:45 hold on dragon ball is a jojo reference 😭
Thanks for respecting Akira Toriyama work.
Nice
12:46 Next you'll say "Is that a JoJo Reference?" right?
12:46 was that a jojos reference?!!
NIigerundayooooooo
I still can't get over how incomplete the manga feels. Why mention the events of the Broly movie if you don't cover it in the manga?
Yay😊
I miss super 😢
Dragon ball super kai!!
It’s so weird how back when the anime was airing and people were hoping for the anime to return, they (not you) called the manga trash, only for the fanbase 2024 to show the manga some love for once XD
There’s stuff to love in both sides! I just wish it all had more planing
bro posted it the day Toyotaro confirmed the manga is coming back soon
6:12 😂
7:10 cay someone explain me in details
The ending of the Black arc is still terrible in the manga though.
Do i have too watch DBS anime ??
I only watch God and broly Movie , Tournament of power .
It’s more “complete” than the manga, but if you want you could watch battle of gods, res F, then read the manga, and watch broly
But what is his name
The manga is peak!!
Okay, fanboy.
It is
Hi
Why do you try to imitate the mannerisms of an anime kid
even though dbs sucks the manga is a bit better i admit
I just wish *_they sometimes told vaguely the same story sometimes....._*
