Yes you can I’m currently working on making a frontal knotless braids and I’d be making use of this method It would come out beautifully well as long as you are going in with 2-3 strands of hair

It’s not really heat friendly If you want to use a straightener it must be on very low heat unless you are using boiled water Do you mean the synthetic fiber(xpression)? Or just normal fiber hairs?
Yeah But i advise the pattern more on frontal for braiding If you want a natural looking scalp on your frontal , you can go check out the method i posted on 13x 4 frontal ventilation It’s on my channel🥰
Ventilate with the length 14 because you would be folding in by 2 inches when ventilating. Ventilating with the 14 inches length would give you a length of 12 inches in the end for the closure

You shoul use 1- 2 strands for the front/side. Double knotting will put the knot on the hair and not on the lace.
