    My dad was a bricky and wanted me to do the same but at the time it wasn't for me. I became a hgv driver. Watching this talented man I wish Id watched and listened to my dad. Great work Stu.

    Good Job - would be beneficial to see the internal components of the wall too though, to see how it all fits together and how the finish on the inside is achieved 👌

    Looks so much more modern with the stone cills n white PVC. Brightens the property up no end. Lovely job kidda.

    I’ve had seven guys out to quote in Gosforth and was told that bricking up a doorway and putting in a window was, and I quote: “too much labour”.
    After using Stu’s vids to renovate the first floor brickwork of the same property I think I might have a go at this...what could go wrong? 😄

    I want to brick up my patio doors and fit a window instead. Can’t figure out if I need planning permission. I’m in the UK too.

    Hi stu, am building at my own house just finished the gable today it's facing brick and just wondered your opinion on the guys who say they can lay 1000 facers a day I reckon on average I'm about 5 to 6 hundred what about you.

      same as you mate, 500 correctly laid brick are better than 1000 tip and run joint roughly finished :)

    That is a rough brick to lay I've laid it many times here in the USA for me the best way to lay that brick is fast and get it out of the way

    Enjoy watching your videos, you're a good trowel. They're horrible bricks to lay but you did a good job,
    just one question.. How come you didn't use dpc under the window cill? Is there a need for it or no

    Maybe the computer doesn't bring across the mortar color correctly. Appears that you used brown mortar vs the grey mortar on the original joints?

    I've just bricked up a pvc door for a window, I've brought a new glazed window from Facebook makert place. What do we do to the bricked area to prepare to install the window? Any tips and must do advice please!?

    While I realize everyone has their own reasons, I never understood the logic of bricking up a door. If you don't need that door, then just use it as a wall and the door can serve almost just as effectively as a window.
