C S Lewis wrote that our reliance upon God must begin again each day, as if nothing had yet been done. Often I find it necessary to do that again each hour, or each minute. To be dead to sin and risen to newness of life is harder than we can imagine. Putting it into to practice proves it. Thank God for new beginnings. Thanks for reminding us of that.
It's quoted in a collection of Lewis' letters, entitled The Collected Letters of C S Lewis. Perhaps Lewis' best know book is Mere Christianity. @@adenmccarthy
One thing I have noted about Paul is he shows no self-esteem, yet his joy is unmatched; not something the world teaches is possible. He rids himself of self-esteem so all his esteem can belong to Jesus, one way to die to one's self. By his joy, we know he got something very right, making him worth imitating.
When we are truly and fully dead with Christ, temptations will not affect us so there is no excuse to fall into temptations easily. This truth seems obvious but to fully understand and obey it, we need the power of the Holy Spirt to work in us. Amen.

How do we know he actually said that? The bible is a book written by men who never even met the people they wrote about (many many years after). It is also heavily edited by a church that had a power and politics agenda, eliminating a number of chapters. In addition, there isn't just one Christian bible - there are at least three with different numbers of chapters. There exists no provable, fact-based evidence to support any of the supernatural (spiritual) events in it.
