I love this response! So true, and if you try to eat them while driving, count on losing at least 25 calories due to crumbs that get lost in your lap! I have a removable seat cushion I shake out every now and then, someone laughed when a couple of gummy bears fell out and they said, "kids are so messy!"
My 60 year old self (who has no grandchildren) just smiled and said, "Aren't they?"
I loves me some gummy bears!

As an actual paraplegic, I am disgusted with those who pretend to be handicapped. They make it harder for those of us with real handicaps to get what we need. Definitely use the slipper on them. They should be glad they are able bodied and use their abilities. They may not always have the option. All it takes is one accident. I would hate to have the karma they must be getting.

Happy new baby, Momma! You will never regret giving your child a healthy boost by feeding how nature intended. I'm proud of you and your love for your family.
Breastfeeding is absolutely the best thing you can do for your child, and it's worth whatever loss of fullness happens afterwards.
My son got very sick right after he was born in 1992, it was group B strep and he was immediately put in NICU and given a 25% chance of surviving his first day. I wasn't allowed to hold him, but I insisted they give him my pumped breast milk (colostrum) instead of formula. One male doctor told me it would make no difference (idiot!), but EVERY nurse in the NICU told me I was giving my baby his best chance to fight that infection! I was so glad I bought a pump before he was born, it likely saved his life.
"For the first few days after your baby's birth, your body will make colostrum, a nutrient-rich "pre-milk." Colostrum (kuh-LOSS-trum) has many benefits, including nutrients that boost a baby's immune system and help fight infection."

I never understood that whole new mom shaming thing. Maybe because I grew up with my brother, cousins, and friend’s siblings being breastfed and having been breastfed myself it was the norm. Plus when my ex was breastfeeding our kids, she was never more idyllic and beautiful. Maybe it’s a bonding thing for the hubby/dad to enjoy that visual but loving family (and hating what has happened to mine), I really enjoy (not in a creepy/sexual way) seeing natural love, care, and affection and it doesn’t get more pure than a breastfeeding mother. Every single person who’s ever gotten married has taken a personal moment at their wedding. Whether they were scrolling Instagram or staring off into the distance, they weren’t “in the moment”. Let people enjoy whatever the fuck they want to enjoy 🤷🏽‍♀️ that’s my rule of thumb. For the granola bar thing I think I have a guess. Measuring "calories" is not an accurate , or even precise, thing to do. They probably round up, or down the numbers averaged over several experiments ... so 1 bar might average to 96 calories and they rounded to 100 .... but 2 bars would be 192, in this case, so they rounded to 190.

@Tammy Fontenot Well done. I drove to a late night shop a few years back. Standing outside was a young woman, and she had a baby in a stroller. She asked for money to buy milk. I took her into the shop where we picked up some milk and a few other grocery items for her. I then drove her to her home. She was due to get benefits the following day. I have her a little money and she cried. It was humbling. I actually admired her for having the courage to put her babies needs ahead of her obvious embarrassment. I was fortunate to be financially secure. I suspect she was a very loving mom.

"It really doesn't look good, does it?" Okay, but why do people have to be so concerned all the time about how things look when they're doing something innocent like checking their phones? There's a Internet famous photo of a group of teenagers at the Louvre (I think) all sitting on a bench checking their phones while in the presence of great art. The caption, of course, is something about what a disgrace it is that they have this once in a lifetime experience and they're looking at their phones. The thing is that they were on a school trip accessing an interactive website setup by the Louvre because their teacher told them to. You might say, "Yeah, but it looks bad." And who decided to shine a light on how it looked? Not the kids, but the asshat who took the picture. No one but that couple has any idea why they were looking at their phones. Who even took the picture and posted it? Was it staged? Or was that just an incredible invasion of their privacy? What if their car had broken down and they were both contacting people to let them know. Should they have framed it better so that 'it looked good'?

Social media would have encouraged you to line the walls with photos in your house. The sheer amount of 'sharing' does make it seem like you're getting a peek into someone's life... but of course all anyone is doing is fabricating the story of their life to smooth out the rough edges. Pictures in a hallway are snapshots in time that persist.. they may spark a happy event or conceal an awful day of studio photography, but social media is vapid and discardable. You exist to someone else as a fleeting acknowledgment and this happens thousands of times to billions of people. So if you present your life as a series of carefully crafted pictures or videos, despite your life being a hot mess, no one has the time or the desire to call you out on your bullshit. We 'like' and let the app move us along to the next carefully crafted series of pictures.
There are stories behind the framed pictures in the hallway. But social media just wants engagement - it doesn't care how you do it and encourages you to be as vapid as the platform itself.

I could eat anything, and not gain weight. Almost every day after school in grade 10, I'd make a pound cake, and I'd eat the pound cake. I didn't puke after, or run on a treadmill, I didn't see my body in a distorted way. I was naturally very slender, and my doctor said I was healthy. And please no one ever accost someone in a parking lot for using the disabled parking and "don't look disabled". If they have a sticker/placard, leave them alone. Not all disabilities are visible. Absolutely! Mom bods are beautiful! Breastfeeding is absolutely the best thing you can do for your child, and it's worth whatever loss of fullness happens afterwards.
My son got very sick right after he was born, it was group B strep and he was immediately put in NICU and given a 25% chance of surviving his first day.

With the nature bar thing: it’s a matter of rounding on nutritional labels. The calorie counts on food are rounded individually. The calculation for calories per serving is done separately from calories per bar, and sometimes when it’s rounded up in the initial count per bar (more than 50 calories is rounded to the nearest ten) it comes out uneven in comparison to the second calculation. So like 96 becomes 100 per bar but 96+96 is 192, which rounds to 190 instead of 200.

My kid is 23 - as soon as they hit adulthood, I apparently turned into someone's Grandma. Cause nowadays, when I see a handsome young man who looks close to my kid's age. I don't think "wow, he's gorgeous". I think "what a nice young man".
I said this to a friend about Timohée Chalamet recently. My friend was like "how old ARE you?". I don't care. All I know is he looks like a nice young man, and still possibly not old enough to be drinking :-D

Ok the nail tech gagging over that girl's feet is NOT a professional 😑
When I was a student, we had a bus load of senior citizens come in every week from different nursing homes throughout the city.
And old peoples feet are narly af!
I couldn't cut one guy's toenails with clippers because they were too thick to fit!
I had to use scissors for cutting acrylic nails!
And I did it all with a smile and great conversations because they're PEOPLE who need and deserve kindness!❤
I've had to file down corns, peel several layers of dead skin off heels, and file toe nails that grow UP instead of straight!
Never once complained or made the customer feel ashamed of the condition of their feet!!!
    I'm pissed off!
    That B shouldn't have a job!!!🤬

Thank you so much for being the person you are and allowing your customers to retain their dignity. I take care of my mother's toenails. She is 93 (I am 66) and completely unable to take care of them herself. It's not my favorite thing to do but it's worth it. I would be very upset if she was treated this way by a professional. If I can control myself then surely someone who does this for a living can do the same. No tip for her.

Bless you, Kyla! I've never had a pedicure but I have 60 year-old feet that I use pumice stone on every time I shower just to keep them from looking like I traded feet with a T-Rex!
The older I get, it seems the ruder and meaner people can be with their "observations" and unwanted comments. My hair is very thin now, so I like to wear hats I make myself to keep my head warm. I don't want to wear wigs, as some suggest. I have a ranch and spend most of my time hanging out with goats and chickens who couldn't care less about my hair!
People who are nice to me get some farm fresh eggs from my happy chickens.

Definitely agree with most of that, but if your feet smell awful when you’ve gone to a place knowing they will be around your feet, that’s a bit different than coming in with your calluses or ingrown toenails. The latter are not easy for people to prevent, while it’s a matter of basic respect to make sure your feet don’t smell like trash when you get them done.
I see a podiatrist every other month and I would never show up with stinky feet. It’s disrespectful and something we generally can control.

with the nature valley one there are other brands that do that too like for soda. My partner explained that companies can make the calorie intake within ~5% margin of error for calories so you could have it be 190 without it actually being wrong (most things you may need to add 5% to the calories because companies want it to seem like there are less calories and its legal within the FDA)
