    I always wondered why in the 80’s some broadcasts would split the 3 main pro classes & the alcohol classes into 2 broadcasts. Was it to try and get attention on the sportsman? Cause I think after this they started giving the sportsman broadcasts a lot more (saw ‘83 Gatornationals was the earliest of the sportsman coverage from a national event when you exclude the ‘78 sportsnationals)

    Before John Force dominated funny cars,there was Pete Austin in the Castrol GTX motor oil repped funny car 💪🏼

      It's Pat. John Force in a Nitro Car, Pat Austin in the Alcohol car.

      🫡 I never thought about your exactly right on that. I knew Pat Austin’s car ran on alcohol,matter of fact they mention in the video how much cooler alcohol cars versus nitromethane top fuel/funny cars ran.
      Not until reading the comment did I ever realize the difference between the two. Thank you
