You are the absolute best! I accidentally broke my dimmer switch & the mechanic was trying to charge me $75 to fix it! I ordered my part from the same place & followed your instructions to the T. Fixed my car in 5 minutes literally! Thank you so much ☺️
Great video, thanks for sharing. Between this and another thread on a ford focus forum, I was able to diagnose that I have a bad turn signal switch that was causing no low beam headlights.
Found your video and changed the switch. Fixed the problem I was having. You did a great job explaining what to do. The only other thing I did was disconnect the battery to prevent the airbag from going off. (a suggestion I got was to wait 10 minutes after disconnecting the battery before replacing the switch as power is still present for a short time after the battery is disconnected, that could set the airbag off.)
Why would the air bag go off, is this really a thing? I might need to change this switch, but I don't want to unplug the battery because my car alarm will go off...
Oh the power of RUclips. I just lost high beams and fog lights on my o2 zx3. In fact, when I switched to high beams, it turned off all headlights. Oddly enough, my fog lights have also quit working.
I have the same problem as the below commentor..no low beams..but mine occassional come on. I'm really thinking it is the worn out switch. Ill remove the steering collumn today and see if the lever may just be gunked up. Odd that it occasionally would come on
Bro was gonna charge me 135 for it... cost $35 at oriley. Not suprised though considering most mechanics charge $100 an hour. Although this takes like 5 minutes
Did you fix it, is it really this switch? My high beams turned on without me using them for months, and can't turn them off, LOL... I don't want to disconnect the battery because my car alarm will turn on...

I just replaced it in and came in the house to leave a comment. Lol.

My mechanic is trying to charge me $250 😭

@@zlac Not sure you really need to do this. I was just nervous that I might set the airbag off in my face.
Thank you so much for this video. It made this process so easy.
Thank you sir for your post. I was able to change my switch on my zx5 confidently with your guidance. Thank you.
Hi Barry. If only all part replacement was that easy :)

Great video!
Thank you so much!!!!!
Thank you for you help
Suggestion: You should try the switch before you snap everything down, just in case it is not the switch.
Good job
Were your low beams also weak prior to the switch replacement?
They didn't appear to be weak. Just not working right.
@@JoDaddysGarage My low beams were extremely weak when my switch went out.
Will this work on a 2007? I am having the same issue
It should be very similar. Check your fuses first.
No low beams hope this fix my problem 🤢
Now whenever I turn, when I put my directions, and I finish the turn, the directions doesn’t turn off and stays on, anyone know how to fix it?
The mechanism may be faulty. Some new ones even have problems.
yet they probably charge a couple hundred bucks at the dealer lol

These cars have the shittiest switch haha. My high beams are permanently stuck on
Did you fix it, is it really this switch?

That's what I was thinking and what I'll do after I connect the new switch.
