I love that you moved for the safety of you and your family! More people should take your lead. 1. How do you make a living, Merida doesn't appear to be cheap. 2. You are are not fluent in Spanish so how did you find your house and sign a lease? 3. You loved how nice people are and are meeting people, but how are you doing that...are you in expat groups or have you signed up for meetups how are you growing your community. 4. How are you finding out where to go for activities? 5. You appear to be acclimating very well in a short period of how are you figuring out things so easily what is your secret?
@@tracylindsey4199 1.) Disabled veteran who hopefully be able to earn more as a content creator 🤗2. We consulted with Merry Misadventures Family (they are under our featured channels), and they found our house bcz their landlord had a property available that fit all our wants! However there are plenty of places for rent here!!! I see plenty of signs everywhere. 3) We are in expat groups but we also just to outside and walk and run into people and use Google translate or just make weird hand signs and facial expressions to communicate 😆 I do plan on doing immersion Spanish starting in January that will be 4-6 hours/day! 4)Also I find local events online by going to Merida’s website, I’m a travel guru at heart lol and will find stuff to do so we are having new experiences. As well as Facebook groups and events can be found there as well! 5) I have tried to really eliminate expectations bcz this is new for us all and most times I’ve found in life my biggest disappointments have been due to having unrealistic expectations or people or places. If you come with a crap happens attitude and not be super sensitive or easily offended you will find it’s not hard to get along. I generally love good people so when you can be surrounded by them it’s such a breath of life I’ve been longing for for years. Thank you for stopping by and chatting with me, I hope you’ll join our tribe and watch us make all the mistakes with grace to let ourselves do it. Best of the day to you.
Thanks for sharing! I love hearing the little peoples perspective. School is a topic I’m curious about. You mentioned tuition is fairly affordable, that’s amazing.
@@ALH22 I will start looking at schools next month and will document it all to share. I am interested in a school that I’ve heard of that has swimming lessons included in tuition (the rumor costs I heard was less than $150 for the month), if that’s true and it fits what I need for my kids I will definitely be enrolling them there. Will let you know for sure though once I visit.
I’ve joined a few on Facebook (some expat specific and few local meetup/event groups/and the English Library does some events weekly it seems, we haven’t made it to one just yet but we’ve only been here 40 days! Thanks for swinging by.
I commend you guys for giving your children the ability to see other parts of the world. That's great parenting!
Thanks for the supportive words! We are definitely trying to break a lot of family curses by living our lives without borders. Thanks for stopping by.
