i dont understand why new gen groups don't take risks in their concept like this anymore. Nowadays they're more about labels like "cute" concept or "sexy" concept. No one is putting in effort towards creating iconic, avant-garde concepts like this anymore. Junsu's makeup, dancing, the entire concept of the video was so ahead of its time compared to what artists today are making. The only person I can think of who's constantly pushing boundaries is Taemin.
You are wrong, BTS actually took a lot of risk. I don't care if you like them or not, i personally don't but i can't deny their works and creativity as well as the risk they take
Omg same!! First I was like Wtfish is going on, then I was like OMG this video is awesome and this is like the 10th time I have watched this video. His voice is so amazing, sexy, and mind blowing. TOTAL NOSE BLEED!!!❤️
Junsu looks like a vamp in this mv. His mvs are so original and artistic that if he was still with SM, I don't think SM would let him do these types of concepts. most kpop mvs are the typical concepts about love and dances in btwn. Junsu's mv has this zealous fantastical theme that not many korean singers have the guts or the idea to venture into
Toni Diaz IKR! I just really hope one day he and the guys can perform on stage. It gives us more variety and more chances to see them perform.I don't live in Asia so I don't get to go to their concerts, so I'm restricted to watching them on the screen
This song deserve more views, Junsu is the best idol singer, i don't know why people don't know him, people are just focused on the new era of younger idols...
jyj's blocked on all the shows in korea so they arent able to promote themselves there but they're pretty popular in Japan if im not wrong. if sm isnt such a cockblocker than there would be much more views on their mvs and they would have more fans with them. but many new fans are unaware of this or choose to ignore it so they're siding with sm and boom. u have jyj blocked forever and their views cant go up.ㅠ.ㅠ
태성김 actually in korea he is much much more popular than the majority if not all of the new idols, he's really respected bc of his work in musicals the past few years. I think its only the new international fans that dont know him
+태성김 (Kim Tae Seong) most people follow whats happening in big companies :D Xia Junsu is the result of trying to destroy the corruption in Kpop industry , dont let me go there its a sad truth D: but his a hero to every Korean idol and its a fact
A lot of people think this song is related to Junsu's own life and the SM company and I agree this time, not because every sad song of his has to do with SM, but the MV and lyrics together actually make me think of that. Ok here's my interpretation upon watching this MV for several times. I believe that the ‘king-Junsu’ who sits on the throne represents SM (or SM's leaders) with great power and superior status. He’s surrounded by dancers (0:57) wearing fancy stage outfits who may represent the current idols in SM. The savage-looking group of men represent the former idols who have been banished from SM (the all-mighty dream-fulfilling temple viewed by the naive public). They, including the JYJ members, were viewed by the public as the ‘wrong’ ‘guilty’ ones, the ungrateful traitors. SM forced ugly masks on them and sealed their mouths 0:37, silencing them while making up lies to ruin their reputation, ruin their lives. And just before they leave, they throw the gold robot head on the ground 0:46. This head may represent Junsu’s past life as an SM idol who appears to be covered by fame and fortune (gold) but inside is more like a machine/robot. Now this machine is broken, this idol life is destroyed and gone. At 1:16, the gold head on the ground shakes its mouth while the song goes "all the dreams are crashed between the lips" (sorry if my translation’s not spot-on). An angry masked man shouts something to the king while the lyric goes “lies can’t kill the truth” 0:52. After this big amount of symbolism at the beginning, Junsu sings “take me out from those rotten memories” 1:22, again meaning that the first part is a recall of his past history with SM. Then there goes this interesting little girl (1:55) who, I think, represents truth, goodness and justice. She's looking at ‘king-Junsu’ (SM) and what he's doing but stays silent (for now). King-Junsu stares back at her and tilts his head, not knowing who she is, what she’s thinking or what she’ll do to him, which he will find out one day. At 2:05, the broken robot head sinks down a pool of liquid and goes into some kind of a factory 2:08 which extracts gold coffee 2:17 from it to be drunk by king-Junsu (SM) . This can relate to how SM not only exploited Junsu and other former idols when they were in the company, but endlessly sue them and do all other kinds of things to extract every last drop of benefit and profit from them, even after their idol lives are already ruined. Meanwhile the song goes ‘the cruelly trampled flower...the countless scars that imprison me…’ The 2:55 part where ‘savage-Junsu’ dances in the dark forest may represent that for a long time, he was exiled from SM and deeply wounded, struggling to recover, to not be judged as the villain, to regain his career and basically to rise above and bloom into a ‘flower’. The lyrics at 3:28 go “you become the world’s hot topic and turn to ashes, they take every piece of you like meat”, while king-Junsu is eating a dish of raw fish meat (the destroyed Junsu in real life). The MV’s last part is where the table turns, as Junsu sings “your life your soul your world, they cannot kill it. I died and reborn, I killed it”, etc. These lyrics and the whole song may also be a shout-out to encourage the SM idols (like EXO, SNSD, f(x) and more) who currently face so many hardships. Junsu becomes a golden warrior at 3:37, as the song goes ‘the darkness swallowed me but now I’m swallowing you’. Then the little girl shows up again 3:41, laughing as king-Junsu falls sick from eating the fish (maybe after he’s eaten too many of them for years and years...) and collapses to the ground. The time has finally come for her to witness truth and justice being restored, and the cruel king being punished. The black-Junsu at the end is a dark knight who rises from the dead and now has the power to fight the powerful. I think Junsu is making a statement in this song and video that SM may still be laughing for now, but things are slowly changing these days, and the time will come for truth/justice to bring back the laughter of those, including Junsu, who never give up the fight.
neknarf1973 thank u! I spent an hour writing that lol upon watching and pausing another subtitled version to find more evidence. also some people say it's about Greek gods but I'm not familiar about that area...and in an interview Junsu said (when answering the question of why naming the song 'flower') something like "you may wanna become a flower via some channels but, even if you work really hard, you may not be able to become one easily..." and the way he said it just makes me feel that this song's more about personal experiences and reflections rather than mythological stories.
Some people may think that Junsu is playing 'SM' role in the MV, but I think he won't do that, he would rather portray himself as the JYJ king on the throne, and the three slaves coming in are like the opponents from SM who against the lawsuit.
Hannahjqd I can tell you put a lot of effort into this.....thanks again !!! No....I don't think either it's about mythology. I have a strong feeling this is very personal for Junsu. Actually it's heartbreaking : (
cassie lie At first I also felt that he didn't have to play SM's role himself when he could hire some other actors for it. But then again, it's his own song and Junsu's usually the main actor in his solo MVs. After finding all those evidence (as in my previous comment) in the MV and lyrics though, king-junsu representing SM (or at least some 'bad guy' who's poisoned and killed at the end) is the only result I can get to.
this is not common kpop... THIS IS PURE ART! I can't say in words how brilliant is it. Xia never does less tan perfection. Great to hear Tablo, I'm his numberonefan :D I'll looking forward lyrics, sure it's epic! So great! So much! XIA fighting!
Diana Stephania I think there is many of people who appreciate his voice, not just fans but he (also JYJ) are pretty popular among kpop idols and singers, there are tone of them who mention Junsu is their favourite singer, role model, etc....also he is important figure in musicals problem is just SM, corruption system in SKorea and unable to fight against "power" - its really sad, there could be so many more people to listen to this amazing music and amazing singer, but his voice is highly appreciate by people who know it :)
Lucy Ara well you are right! :) It's just that he inspires me so much with his talent so I get mad but anyway the views doesn't mean anything.. he is still so talented
Diana Stephania the views don't say if one person have talent or not, so, don't worried ;) Junsu is a GREAT artist, the best korean male singer until now, to the kop singers and to the professional, he sing, dance, writes, compose...he is amazing... don't matters the views in the mv, the song and the video are spectacular with Tablo and the soprano. Always JYJ-Junsu-JaeJoong and before in DBSK era, they have a little of views, (only with Mirotic) but that was deleted :v i agree with you, so many persons needs see this cool MV :)
why the HELL IS THIS MV SO UNDERRATED???? Such classy and extravagant videos are so hard to find nowadays and when one is released it becomes underrated...-_- this is definitely a masterpiece and deserves so much more attention than what it is receiving at the moment.
People, i think, only pays attention to the new acts these days and not to the veteran ones -even if the latter are exceptionally good and is the real deal. Or maybe kpop fans only want the teeny bopper kind of music and not Junsu's style. More for us tho hahaha ;)
Yza Jinon I think it's about being blocked on TV. New fans got into Bigbang easily but they will never know JYJ or they will find it hard to be a fan of them because there block from music shows, variety shows, talk shows, awards, music festivals, promotions, even articles are getting deleted about them. They only have concerts, musicals and acting to rely on. But there originally musicians, there performers, there artist, singers for god sake and there's unfairly being blocked from shows and promoting their albums/songs on TV. It's been going on for 6years :(
not to be dramatic or something but this is on a whole different level. the song, music video. everything about this is brilliant. such a shame that a work of art like this song is so unappreciated, i wish i had been into k-pop when this came out.
New generations need to learn and listen to this masterpiece. Junsu's music style is always so unique that I'm kinda sad cause all of them are missing his talent ♥
read this. its more than just that. but it relates to that in a different story length kpoponmymind.wordpress.com/2015/05/11/xias-flower-story-analysis/
yuta step on me Hi! There's a reactor channel that reacted to this song and MV. The reactors didn't really understood the message of the MV and its meaning. I'd like to copy this url and share it to them since they had a hard time looking for a more precise interpretation of the MV. Thanks in advance! 😊
Memon G. people judge from youtube views like if junsu is just an ordinary kpop idol who promote freely 3 times a week at least in music shows, if they look at junsu's concert attendance I think they'd stop talking. if junsu was able to compete also in music shows he'd gain more teen fans from one hand, and from the other hand junsu current fans were going to keep watching the MV several times a day to raise his points in the competitions like how all typical kpop fans do for their idols.
Memon G. That's not the case at all. Every single concert of his sells out in no time. A singers popularity is not only measured by RUclips views and TV appearance. If you can sell out every single concert and you have to throw in extra concerts because of the high demand.....that's when you know you are doing well. Junsu is doing really well.
Memon G. no no pls don't think that way. fading away??? believe me or not, he's one of a kind that is rare in Kpop. tbh, i don't view him and his members as an idol anymore. they all beyond that. he himself is incredibly amazing! this come out from a B2uty.
Memon G. Long time Db5k fan too and it's so depressing reading the comments.. it's really sad especially for JYJ, 6years and counting from getting blocked on shows and one members already left for the army. 2 will follow this year or next year but it'll be another waiting period for us. And once they will all come back from the army, we wouldn't even be sure if they will have to be blocked again from shows and programs. Just have faith everyone
+Memon G. I know and he is one of the best and talented singers. Even though Junsu has always been my favorite I never know when his songs come out and always hear them really late.
I love Junsu's style he really doesn't play around, he's a very serious and talented artist as you can clearly see in this mv. His voice is truly heavenly and he never does anything mainstream. Junsu always strives towards being different and omg he sure is ! Watching this mv I really felt like I was seeing the greek empire and it made me think of tallentalegra because it's quite similar although with tallentalegra it felt more like the roman empire. But I don't mean that them being similar is a bad thing that's just his style and I frickin love it !!! Junsu is seriously amazing and is in my top 3 favourite male artsits along with JaeJoong who also has his own original style. Originality is what I love to see in music and kpop brings it all the time. It's different to American music, very different but after listening to it for a while you get used to it and you realise that there is also a "mainstream" trend in kpop. But Junsu and JaeJoong especially have very original styles and that is what makes people look at them and think, "wow these guys are amazing" they have a sort of "professional" aura about them like they are kings which is why even though the 3 of them aren't part of TVXQ anymore the rising gods of the east still fits them perfectly as a title because when you watch them either together or individually they really are amazing and have a stage presence unlike any other kpop artist or group out there, literally !
neknarf1973 lol I don't think there's a kpop fan who doesn't know about junsu's existence but yeah 6 years with no promotions in Kpop world has its effect.
neknarf1973 #waitingForJaejoong is #waitingForJYJ yeah it's sad tbh :( there are loads of new kpop fans now but they don't really know the idols from the 1st gen like TVXQ for example. It's something I've come to notice. It's like the old gen is slowly dying out and it makes me sad :( I myself only got into kpop in 2013 but I love a lot of the old gen music and groups. I wish the new gen kpop fans would look into more of the older gen stuff and not just all the new groups and rookies...
***** what I meant is they sure know their names (so their existence) but yeah just the name because now it's 3rd/4th generation time, but still the no-TV appearance of junsu for a very long time also has an impact because for me junsu is the kind of singers a person will like no matter how is his age.
5 years later and I still find myself extremely intrigued with this MV and this song! This is a whole vibe and concept, Junsu is such a fucking legend!
Xia Junsu wrote and composed this masterpiece. He is freaking talented. His talents are unmatched. No idols from past or present can come close to Junsu's talents.
So I know there have already been quite a few analysis’s of this music video, but here is what I think the music video is symbolizing. So in the beginning we see Junsu essentially in a palace, where he appears to be the king, a god if you will. This, I think, is a hint at his past with DBSK. The full name: DongBangShinKi, in traditional Chinese translates to “the rising gods of the east.” At this point a group of masked men come in and throw the severed head of a mechanical skull to the floor, with golden eyes. The way I see it, the group of men could symbolize either one of two things: first, they are the general public that are below him in all his glory, or second, they represent idols past. I am inclined to believe the latter, as I think that the skull represents the “ugly” side of fame that these failed idols furiously throw before him, in their attempt to unveil what goes on “underneath it all.” One achieves, the external beauty (the gold eyes), but underneath one is but a machine, controlled, with the inability to make their own choices. At this point Junsu’s eyes are still brown. However, after the head is thrown to the floor, a seemingly innocent girl appears off to the left as he examines the severed head. It is only after his encounter with the girl that you see the melting down of the mechanical head and Junsu then consuming the molten remnants. The significance here lies within the little girl. She, I believe, is the representation of SM Entertainment: appearing pleasant and innocent and encouraging him to consume the head, or the “fame,” in order to achieve his dream. At this point we see his eyes change color to the same gold that the skull had. A part of the lyrics I think represent this theory: “you’ve become the world’s hot topic then you turn into ash, then they take away each piece of you, your life, your soul, your world.” The dystopian scenes I believe are actually a flash forward, but I will explain that momentarily. We then witness a very zoned out Junsu, about to eat his meal. He appears to snap out of his trance when he sees the deformed fish before him. This represents him realizing the deformity of his current situation, finally comprehending the unbalanced reality of what has happened, and ultimately realizing his mistake to trust this little girl before him. We then see junsu throwing up blue liquid, as the little girl looks on in glee, laughing at his pain. Ultimately, I believe this to be a representation of Junsu’s past with SM entertainment. Now going back to the dystopian scenes, in which he is dressed in black and his eyes are back to brown. Like I said before, I think this was a flash forward to what became of him after his encounter with the little girl, and after he threw up the blue liquid and appeared to be consumed in flames. Then finally we see him, in the last scene, mounted on a warped perception of a horse and dressed in what looks like a warriors uniform, appearing to be ready for battle. This I think is a representation of who he is now, his “current form” so to speak, ready to conquer, a flower rising from the ashes (thus the title). Here is the part of the lyrics that make me believe my interpretation to be correct: “Look at me, I’ve died but I opened my eyes again, I killed it. The darkness swallowed me but now I’m swallowing you. Piercing through the storm of snow, a deeply rooted flower blossoms. This is the truth.”
If this song doesn't become #1 I WOULD BE SO PISSED. Its very emotional and Junsu looks so handsome. However, I know that non-kpop people would judge him or call him gay and other bad things - YOU HAVE TO EXPLORE YOUR ABILITIES AND OTHER ASPECTS AS A GROWING ARTIST:) MUCH LOVE
Don't you think that making 'gay' an insult and lumping it in the category of 'other bad things' kind of ignorant and immature...I don't want to start a fight, just pointing out a fact that you might not be aware of
Well Im sorry if my explanation was not clear enough. I'll rephrase it, ITS NOT OTHER BAD THINGS RATHER OTHER INSULTS TOWARD HIM. Okay? Are we okay now?
Coleen Singson their minds are closed! especially american culture. I'm glad i learned to appreciate all kinds of culture. unlike most people who only want one thing.
The fact I didn't realized this was all about his suffering on being an Idol gave me the chills. I definitely was not prepared when this got released...
OMG !!!! It's Tablo rapping !!!! Fuck yes ! YG and CJES collab right there ! The song was GREAT !! The dance was AWSOME !! The mv... Best mv so far in 2015. Though I don't understand what's going on, hopefully I'll understand after reading the lyrics translation and watching the mv a few more time.. I wonder how much they spent on the music video.. DAEBAK !!!! 👍👍👍👍
Is it weird that I would like to live in whatever universe is being portrayed in Junsu's videos? Like as long as he is the ruler I would love to be in his kingdom.
I'm naming this my favorite mv of all time and no one can stop me. The concept, the song, the dance, the make up, the outfits.....seriously I think I've died and gone to pure and blissful heaven
OMG !!!!! I had to watch this mv multiple times to catch everything. This MV gave me all sorts of unknown chills, and can we talk about the song , like damn !!!! the meaning, tablo featuring ... everything. I'm so MAD that he cannot promote this on ANY music program on TV. I'M SO MAD. this would have been so epic !!!!
To say he slayed is the biggest understatement of the millennia. He eviscerated the game with this one. This was his "Thiller." This was literal artistic beauty. This is what music videos are meant to be. And then to have one of the best lyricists (Tablo) Korea has ever had to offer as a collab is just genius. And now we play the waiting game to see which "artist" (looking at you SM) will be the first to bite at the King's heels. And I'll be right there to call them out. #LongLiveTheKing
You, I love you. I could not agree more. Tablo being the awesome friend he is and helping Junsu make another killer track was the best. I cannot wait for this whole album
Xia is creative too, he is unique when compared to other pop stars, I think he is number one, he can cross all the hurdles with his talent. this song is awesome, the music is speechless
I think the video portrays the story of the god Cronus, king of the Titans. He overthrew his father Uranus and ascended the throne as king of the gods. The time of the reign of Cronus was called the golden age and is represented by the scene where Junsu (playing Cronus) and dancers (the other gods, brothers of Cronus) are dressed in gold. But he found that he was destined to be overcome by their children (as he did with his father Uranus) and to prevent it, he ate them when they were born. The little girl representing a Titanide called Metis, she did not agree with what Cronus did and she decided to help Zeus (youngest son of Cronus and the only one that was not eaten at birth because his mother tricked him and handed him a stone instead) to free their brothers and overthrow his father Cronus, giving it a potion that would make him vomit all his children. With the children of Cronus released, comes the end of the golden age, represented by the scene in which the mens in the mask (play the giants who helped Zeus because he freed from his imprisonment) pulls the robot's head of gold against Cronus (Junsu) and the other gods. At the end Cronus is locked with the other Titans in Tartarus, a chasm that was below the underworld (represented by the scene where Junsu and dancers are dressed as cavemen). And at the end of the video you can hear the sound of a baby, representing the children of Cronus who have been released. You can also watch Junsu (Cronus) is dressed in armor ready for fight against his sons (at first I did not understand what made Junsu on that rare horse), this represents the beginning of the Battle of the Titans or Titanomachy which lasted ten years and that ended up winning the Olympians guided by Zeus. Well, that's what I think...
Priscila Jackson girl hahaha It's the first thing I thought when I saw the video, although I must admit that the scene where are gold dresses made me remember the Knights of the Zodiac (loved this anime) and therefore remembered the story of Cronus.
Priscila Jackson yeah, I did not know the whole story. At first the little girl puzzled me, but investigate and I discovered that could be Metis or Gaia (the mother of Cronus) that helped Zeus. That part of the story did not know, I thought Zeus did everything alone (there are several versions of this part of Greek mythology).
abimatt100 with this story it sounds A LOT like a story about SM. like my interpretation of what you said (sorry no way I can remember the names ) the CEO is the king guy and has all his children (idols) but he's afraid of them ruining the company (idols suing etc.) So he eats them (kicks them out or sues them) but then the idols (the little girl) fights back and eventually take down the CEO (the little girl could represent other agencies helping to take down SM) and then a better company taking over and setting the idols free
Fucking love the nails lol and I just discovered this guy I didn't know he was apart of JYJ or DBSK(TVXQ) I only pay attention to DBSK. BUT I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SONG AND MV!! Best of luck with this amazing song of yours!
I feel both happy and sad by your comment! Happy for enjoying JunSu's song and MV and well JunSu in general and sad that you didn't know he was part of the original DB5K... but no blame of course! you learned about him now! Please keep supporting him ne? ^_^
Holy crap. Man. This was artistic af. Like I had no previous expectations for him since I had no idea who he was and I was like " oh god silver fingernails " BUT HOLY CRAP. I DID NOT EXPECT SUCH A POWERFUL SONG AND VIDEO. Like wtf. Seriously.
Wish he could promote this properly! It deserves proper promotion! I'm so hyped about this MV and title track, and yet I'm finding it so hard to find like.... ANYTHING about this comeback ykwim. Most comebacks = variety show schedules, music broadcast schedules, and just STUFF. But like, all I see are fan cams from his Osaka Concert or Japanese stuff which isn't as fun as Korean promotions! Also, they should totally have it in the title that Tablo is featuring, it would add views imo. Edit: Fancams of FLOWER are AMAZING - THE DANCE IS JUST WOW. Again, IT SHOULD BE PROMOTED UGH.
Their promotions aren't going to be like common idol promotions, because JYJ are no longer idols. I don't know about what the one above me said about SM not allowing them, I highly doubt they can't promote something if they can produce, release and then tour with it.
Harry Albanis when they left sm had banned them from appearing on Korean shows to promote e.g varietys and music shows etc. I think they won the case tho? they went back to court and won their rights back
Clarification: I suppose what I meant by promoting "properly" are appearances on variety shows and music broadcasts on national TV. Of course they can 'promote' whatever they want online and tour with it. Basically, I'd love to see him on a Korean variety show or at the end year award ceremonies like MAMA, performing full stages with Tablo or even other YG family artistes. He was on a Japanese variety show recently, but its just not the same as a Korean variety show and I think thats a pity. Because I personally enjoy JYJ on varieties.
To be very honest, if Junsu perform this song on music shows that time, it will slap all performers. Bcause this song is supposed to be perform on huge stage, with huge audience. Not only on music show stages. I just couldnt imagine it's energy on music shows. This song's energy is beyond that
I think i read it somewhere. But his songs was meant for concerts scale. They cater it that way due to the restrictions on tv broadcast if I'm not mistaken. I'm not sure about nowadays, but their songs in the earlier days...do sounds theatrical and dramatic most of the time. I love it tho. It's not hard to imagine him performing all out with all the orchestra and props. Mindblown.
I discovered this song and completely fell in love with it, but never really paid attention to junsu himself, then a few days ago I found some clips from his musical Dracula, and I am now in love with this multitalented man. Now I understand why he and JYJ are one of the highest paid kpop stars in the industry. HaNi is so lucky.
+KPop “asoulmate4every1” CurlyTop Junsu is a treasure in the kpop n musical industry. no bottom n no end. so talented ! u will get surprised if u know him more ! ^^
It turns out it’s never too late to discover such an amazing artist like Junsu. This MV is definitely one of a kind. I have immediately added it to my playlist!
Just found my comment from 5 years ago and damn, still coming back to watch and listen to this masterpiece in 2021. I remember staying up late for the release of this mv and it's still one of my favourite music videos in general. So beautifully done
2024?
Yes

tbh "XIA JUNSU - FLOWER" is so similar to "SISTAR - BAD GUY"
and both JUNSU and SISTAR are legends
That's because most of them don't have a say in their concept, it's all decided, just as when Junsu was in dbsk.
Go and listen mamamoo new song
You are wrong, BTS actually took a lot of risk. I don't care if you like them or not, i personally don't but i can't deny their works and creativity as well as the risk they take
BTS and Monsta X
My face: *confused expression*
My mind: *blown*
My heart: *filled with love*
This. Exactly my reaction! oh Junsu...
ditto that
This is really impressive and gorgeous! :) (y)

Junsu's mv has this zealous fantastical theme that not many korean singers have the guts or the idea to venture into
Gotta agree with you. I'm just happy Junsu can make music that he wants w/o being held back (creativity-wise).
Toni Diaz IKR! I just really hope one day he and the guys can perform on stage. It gives us more variety and more chances to see them perform.I don't live in Asia so I don't get to go to their concerts, so I'm restricted to watching them on the screen
Most SM MVs are just heaps of close up singing, dancing in different formations and just slow motion jumps.
I don't want to overreact but HE IS A VAMPIRE.
hyunntps says hi do you know that he really is? Dracula-Xia
진짜 꽃은 방송탔어야 했다고 ㅠㅠ
개띵곡....
I think its only the new international fans that dont know him
dankoya yeah I think that too
+태성김 (Kim Tae Seong) Old ones tend to be forgotten. *sigh*
+태성김 (Kim Tae Seong) most people follow whats happening in big companies :D Xia Junsu is the result of trying to destroy the corruption in Kpop industry , dont let me go there its a sad truth D: but his a hero to every Korean idol and its a fact
7 years later and I still come back and still get chills. Xia is a Master of his craft.
Meanwhile the song goes ‘the cruelly trampled flower...the countless scars that imprison me…’
The 2:55 part where ‘savage-Junsu’ dances in the dark forest may represent that for a long time, he was exiled from SM and deeply wounded, struggling to recover, to not be judged as the villain, to regain his career and basically to rise above and bloom into a ‘flower’.
OMG....I love your message. Exactly how I see it but didn't know how to put it into words. Thank youuuu !!!!!
neknarf1973 thank u!
Great to hear Tablo, I'm his numberonefan :D
I'll looking forward lyrics, sure it's epic! So great! So much! XIA fighting!
Absolutely!!
Definitely !!!!! Freaking Perfect!!!
Agreed! He slayed, i love him so much
Ikr the lyrics gotta slay so bad
Tally agree with you!!!
It sucks because this deserves tons of views but people don't appreciate his talent
Diana Stephania
I think there is many of people who appreciate his voice, not just fans but he (also JYJ) are pretty popular among kpop idols and singers, there are tone of them who mention Junsu is their favourite singer, role model, etc....also he is important figure in musicals
problem is just SM, corruption system in SKorea and unable to fight against "power" - its really sad, there could be so many more people to listen to this amazing music and amazing singer, but his voice is highly appreciate by people who know it :)
Always JYJ-Junsu-JaeJoong and before in DBSK era, they have a little of views, (only with Mirotic) but that was deleted :v
i agree with you, so many persons needs see this cool MV :)
Camila Moreno yes you are right! :) I was just so mad at the moment but I'm not the kind of person who cares about views..
Diana Stephania you got it! xD
5 years later and I’m still obsessed with this art 😍
me too
why the HELL IS THIS MV SO UNDERRATED???? Such classy and extravagant videos are so hard to find nowadays and when one is released it becomes underrated...-_- this is definitely a masterpiece and deserves so much more attention than what it is receiving at the moment.
People, i think, only pays attention to the new acts these days and not to the veteran ones -even if the latter are exceptionally good and is the real deal. Or maybe kpop fans only want the teeny bopper kind of music and not Junsu's style. More for us tho hahaha ;)
Yza Jinon well, i think that the JYJ fans aren't so much young and don't be all the day in youtube playing the MV xD so many of they works
Yza Jinon yup I think you are totally right..its sad though :(
Yza Jinon I think it's about being blocked on TV.
It's been going on for 6years :(
I know right
What is this? Did I die? Did I just have a religious experience? Oh my god....Xia has the absolute best dances and concepts!
Jellybeannose yeah! This is pure perfection 😍
SO GOOD....I have no words.....
sakare Ayyyyy what's up Sarah! haha
You planning to cover this?
Mary m I'd like to! I'm working on like 78 covers right now haha so if I have the time then yes!
not to be dramatic or something but this is on a whole different level. the song, music video. everything about this is brilliant. such a shame that a work of art like this song is so unappreciated, i wish i had been into k-pop when this came out.
Welcome to the best era of K-pop.. I miss those days so bad
My exact feeling, this is an another level, Hollywood cannot even DREAM to produce at this level.
Watching this video is a spiritual experience. It feels like the meaning of everything has been explained!
Yeah...me too!
I wish i was an adult during this era
이런곡이 대중들에게 소개되지 못해 안타깝다. 팬들만 품기에는 김준수라는 아티스트가 너무 큰 존재.
존경합니다.
remember when Changmin said that Junsu was his religion bc same
doyouwannabshowtime same thought
Xiahnism lol
When changmin following that junsu said : Besimikaaa....bisimikaaaa....
😁 i miss them
omg the memories and his dolphin laugh afterwards
😭😭
Damn I don't think Junsu and Tablo have worked together since their AnyBand days.
Amber Liu It blew my mind how they formed it for a commercial. TPL is still in my playlists.
Amber Liu how can I forget Promise U total opposite feel from TPL. And the mv I still remember it...I'm going to go watch it right now actually haha
i love all this TPL thing in this MV.. hahahahahhhahaha!! Promise U still in my playlist too! ^____^
I got a tattoo from this song, the " Lies can't kill the truth " line
Amélie B. Awesome
Amélie B. That’s a great line, and would make a great tattoo. Well done 👍🏼 awesome idea 💡
Wow glad junsu is a decent guy and is not criminal like seungri, because I've got a tattoo a line from seungri song 😂😂😂
Woah that's cool
@@letsgetit_jungkook3717 oof 😂
New generations need to learn and listen to this masterpiece. Junsu's music style is always so unique that I'm kinda sad cause all of them are missing his talent ♥
Damn such nostalgia, I remember when this song came out such a masterpiece! He needs another comeback!
He did a while ago. Now he is busy with his musicals

Sacó un video nuevo hace 3 meses , esta genial muy colorido y muy buena música como siempre 👌
Maybe he's singing about the true cruel world of SM or being a Kpop idol in general it's not rainbows and butterflies like they say
read this. its more than just that. but it relates to that in a different story length
kpoponmymind.wordpress.com/2015/05/11/xias-flower-story-analysis/
yuta step on me Hi! There's a reactor channel that reacted to this song and MV. The reactors didn't really understood the message of the MV and its meaning. I'd like to copy this url and share it to them since they had a hard time looking for a more precise interpretation of the MV. Thanks in advance! 😊
Helena thankyou, that was an awesome/amazing interpretation
give that MAN a Grammy!!!
He completely deserves a Grammy I would gladly vote for him better then most of the "music" that wins

Seeing the comments about Junsu being underrated/forgotten and slowly fading away are depressing the hell out of me as a longtime Junsu fan.
Memon G. people judge from youtube views like if junsu is just an ordinary kpop idol who promote freely 3 times a week at least in music shows, if they look at junsu's concert attendance I think they'd stop talking. if junsu was able to compete also in music shows he'd gain more teen fans from one hand, and from the other hand junsu current fans were going to keep watching the MV several times a day to raise his points in the competitions like how all typical kpop fans do for their idols.
꽃이 벌써 5년 전 곡인가요?! 지금 들어도 개 쩌는 명곡. 공연 또 보고싶네요
Agreed, junsu slayed!
Totally agree with you, you said what I want to say^^
You said everything I wanted, I can only add Junsu is a complete artist lacks nothing and instead has plenty of talent
Put my feelings into words will ya! I so agree
#XIA his music is always perfection
This song is soooo good! His company should promote him more!
+melissitavera96 His comapny cant promote him or the rest of JYJ Cuz of SM's law.
gina puzz Oh! is he from JYJ?? I didnt know that, this is so sad :/
It's sad, but they do really great ^-^
+melissitavera96 SM's fault :(
In 2009 DBSK filled a lawsuiet agains SM. And they got "kicked" out and they cant promote on music bank etc. U can read more about it if u look it up
randomly thought about this song today, still as good as when it came out
진짜 이건 명곡, 지금들어도 앞으로도 쭉 최고에요
방송타지못한게 아쉽네요
I can't believe this is only at 2 million views... what is wrong with people
***** I guess lots of people don't even know he exists.
neknarf1973 lol I don't think there's a kpop fan who doesn't know about junsu's existence but yeah 6 years with no promotions in Kpop world has its effect.
neknarf1973 #waitingForJaejoong is #waitingForJYJ yeah it's sad tbh :( there are loads of new kpop fans now but they don't really know the idols from the 1st gen like TVXQ for example.
***** Yeah....I think the new K-Pop fans only get to know the new generation : (
***** what I meant is they sure know their names (so their existence) but yeah just the name because now it's 3rd/4th generation time, but still the no-TV appearance of junsu for a very long time also has an impact because for me junsu is the kind of singers a person will like no matter how is his age.
이거 늦었더라도 언젠가 꼭 한번 방송에서 라이브하는거 보고싶다
5 years later and I still find myself extremely intrigued with this MV and this song! This is a whole vibe and concept, Junsu is such a fucking legend!
For real!!
Xia Junsu wrote and composed this masterpiece. He is freaking talented.
His talents are unmatched. No idols from past or present can come close to Junsu's talents.
I CAN NEVER MISS OUT TABLO'S VOICE
WHEN HE STARTED RAPPING I WAS LIKE "YEP. DUCKING YEP IT'S HIM."
lol "ducking"
dude his vibrato slays my life
So I know there have already been quite a few analysis’s of this music video, but here is what I think the music video is symbolizing.
A part of the lyrics I think represent this theory: “you’ve become the world’s hot topic then you turn into ash, then they take away each piece of you, your life, your soul, your world.”
The dystopian scenes I believe are actually a flash forward, but I will explain that momentarily.
This is the truth.”
best interpretation until now. this might be the right one!!
great interpretation! i kinda thought about this too
Yep. Very apt interpretation.
you are awesome! Thanks a million!
for me is a perfect interpretacion, thanks! :D

Mv and the song.
***** I doubt it too because every time JYJ or the solos come out they top the charts & albums ect. You never know though
Coleen Singson there are people calling him gay?? that's the first time i've heard of this...
Coleen Singson their minds are closed! especially american culture. I'm glad i learned to appreciate all kinds of culture. unlike most people who only want one thing.
The fact I didn't realized this was all about his suffering on being an Idol gave me the chills.
I definitely was not prepared when this got released...

Is it weird that I would like to live in whatever universe is being portrayed in Junsu's videos? Like as long as he is the ruler I would love to be in his kingdom.
Not at all. I'm right there with you
Not weird around all
Man who wouldn't love being ruled by #XIA ? Lol for real though that's one trip of a universe
omg yes! and then there should be another MV of how this ruler falls in love with a human girl OW!

Yes!! i love everything about it!
Omg, I totally just named it my favorite mv too! It was so beautiful.
When Junsu said he was doing a concept we've never seen from him, I was thinking how could he change it up AGAIN? But he thankfully proved me wrong. 😊
This would have killed in Music Shows. Damn it!!! It's sooo good.
yes it would. just imagine this live with junsu dancers and tablo,,,, out of this world:))))

#LongLiveTheKing
just sat here with my mouth open cause ive got no words. but that ^ does it
May James I'm just going to say this. If Michael Jackson could call himself the King of Pop, then Kim Junsu needs to be called the King of Kpop.
Came here after watching Donghae and Eunhyuk's teaser for Growing Pains. I think we know who SM's releasing out of the dungeon for now.
Night Angel not sure about king of kpop but definitely incredible for sure
You, I love you. I could not agree more. Tablo being the awesome friend he is and helping Junsu make another killer track was the best. I cannot wait for this whole album
XIA Junsu new mini album “Pit-A-Pat” is coming on November 10, 2020! Pit-A-Pat is a dance track!
who directed this video?? it is nowhere to find... seriously, give this human being some credit!
어우씨 닭살돋아... 매번 들으러 오는데 너무 좋아요.
안녕하세요 러시아에서,나는 또한이 멋진 노래를 듣고 계속😄
Still iconic and an underrated masterpiece!
This video is a piece of art ♥
Everything with junsu's voice is piece of art hahaha xD
+Yza Jinon lol omg i love you 😂
Xia is creative too, he is unique when compared to other pop stars, I think he is number one, he can cross all the hurdles with his talent. this song is awesome, the music is speechless
컨셉 소화력 미쳤다리,,,, 분위기 신비롭고 노래랑 뮤비랑 너무나 찰떡이에요..
Well, that's what I think...
abimatt100 damn man.. or girl? you turned all my thoughts about this video ._. (y)
Priscila Jackson girl hahaha
It's the first thing I thought when I saw the video, although I must admit that the scene where are gold dresses made me remember the Knights of the Zodiac (loved this anime) and therefore remembered the story of Cronus.
abimatt100 yeah, maybe *unfortunately most of the people (including me) have no idea of that story xD
To this day I still think of this as one of the most beautiful kpop songs ever and it will never change
Yea OF COURSE I'll keep supporting him! And I'm such a fool for not knowing him he's handsome, a good singer, unique, and serious what's not to love?
ikr!!! You should seriously check the rest of JYJ too! JaeJoong and YunChun! ^_^
Of course I know those guys too there like the total package.... Soooooo HANDSOME hahaha I love it when I get along with another kpopper
they are not only handsome they are super talented too!!! And yes I do love it when I get along with other Kpopers too ^_^
Holy crap. Man. This was artistic af. Like I had no previous expectations for him since I had no idea who he was and I was like " oh god silver fingernails " BUT HOLY CRAP. I DID NOT EXPECT SUCH A POWERFUL SONG AND VIDEO. Like wtf. Seriously.
He is Junsu from JYJ and Old TVXQ. He has one of the best voices in Kpop
Have you watched "Tarantallegra" yet? teehee
Ofcourse! ! Lol love him
His ballad songs are awesome too. He is always the first in vocal ranking. 11am, 7 years old, and many drama osts. XD
We would all love to see him promote normally, but thanks to SM holding onto JYJ, we can't see nothing but their concerts.
I think they won the case tho? they went back to court and won their rights back
As I said, if they can release their own music, they can promote it however they want.
This song will always deserve more views 😭
this was ahead of its time wow
To be very honest, if Junsu perform this song on music shows that time, it will slap all performers. Bcause this song is supposed to be perform on huge stage, with huge audience. Not only on music show stages. I just couldnt imagine it's energy on music shows. This song's energy is beyond that
Imagine if he could perform this song on a year end music awards like Mama or MMA
Mindblown.
이 뮤비는 진짜 예술이다

I discovered this song and completely fell in love with it, but never really paid attention to junsu himself, then a few days ago I found some clips from his musical Dracula, and I am now in love with this multitalented man. Now I understand why he and JYJ are one of the highest paid kpop stars in the industry. HaNi is so lucky.

Just found my comment from 5 years ago and damn, still coming back to watch and listen to this masterpiece in 2021. I remember staying up late for the release of this mv and it's still one of my favourite music videos in general. So beautifully done
I found a edit about this MV on TikTok and immediately fell in love with this song.
