Very impressive. I just completed all my weapon masteries and these two alone I could not simply complete, so I cheesed them by reseting runs until I had a second weapon.
With Shredder swarm you need damage more than reload, and as many drones as you can get. It's base damage is so ridiculously low. Plus you need to run BEYOND where the grenade lands to pull the bugs THROUGH it (or stand in it and have the bugs come to you). The biggest problem is that it auto-targets/prioritises the small bugs over the big ones - including bosses - so hitting elites and bosses is hard, especially Spitters who hide in swarms of little bugs and run away. Hi-Ex already has good base damage so you really need a ton of reload and only take damage if it's at least 2 rarity grades higher (i.e. Rare/blue damage vs Common/white reload). Throwing out more grenades equals better coverage and more enemies hit instead of missed. Triple split and Explosion radius are essential, or at least one of those for continuous regular damage. It's the lvl 18 "Feedback Harness" that really does the damage though when it throws out a number of grenades at once, so you CAN go the max damage route and rely upon that instead of reload speed, but you have to pump the levels as fast as possible over better (global) upgrades. With both of these grenades you want to continuously run away and pull the bugs after you INTO the grenades; standing too close to the bugs ends up with you throwing them BEYOND the bugs. Hi-Ex was almost easy compared to the Shredder Swarm, even if you follow these tactics.
congrats. both hard. managed shredder first go thanks to some nice luck, but i must have twenty runs with that fucking grenade and just get my ass kicked. rolly boys and grenade mechanics are straight hell.
the twins need a CD on how often they can heal, how many times they can heal, or make the invuln on heal a damage reduction while healing. any one of these will remove the "fish for no twins" meta that is the current.
in normal games yes, but in masteries its pretty much just a wasted upgrade slot. i really wish they'd tweak how tag mastery upgrades appear when you only have 1 weapon. i don't give a single shit about stuff like 5% damage to all weapons when i could get 10/15 for my only weapon. on the other hand, i'd really appreciate things like beam range, lifetime, or damage/potency; but those upgrades only show up if you have at least two of a kind.
why do you take the " 9% damage on all weapons" over 15% damage when you only have one weapon? isnt that just a waste? ive seen this in other one weapons challanges aswell, just curious :)
it took 3 tries to beat thunderbird and 10 tries for HE. so HE was hardest weapon for me. that thing needs major buffs. at least thunder bird rolls +1 drones and than it is relatively easy.
Did triple split in the previous attempts and wanted to simply test it. Theoretically, no triple split could possibly be better because the damage is less spread out all over the place and more concentrated, thus actually killing more consistently instead of just damaging everything.
@@idlecub i think HE grenade is hardest one. it took well over 10 tries to do this one while every single weapon besides that grenade 1 try or 2 try at most.
Do the cores spawn in specific maps and you need to do them again to get the specific core or are they just random and you can just farm and get them elsewhere?
How does the heal mechanic for twins work? Sometimes it feels like they regroup and heal every time I tickle them, and other times they hardly ever heal. I don't understand.
OMG! You did it! Hazard 5 Shredder grenade! G.G.

Guncrate is by far the best artifact in the game at the moment.

with those weapons I was just fishing for a nice weapon crate, otherwise it's a bit too painful

I manage to beat the Swarm grenades first attempt, HE grenades are just pain for me lmao, gotten so close quite a few times.
I only recently unlocked the shredder grenade and was so surprised at how garbage it was
I think the weapon balance still needs some work, tbh
Maybe, but not every weapon is supposed to be a main weapon.
I think the mastery runs are for the devs to figure out which weapons are underperforming for balance reasons.
@@zalantra4753 i agree, launching an update like this in EA will help them balance before the actual launch.
@juanstarnotip8122 I keep forgetting that this is still early access. It's my go to unwind game after work so I have about 200 hours already lol.
hello Idle, have you already increase the mastery of the bug taser TH-OR, i try so many times.. but this weapon is so weak and useless :/
The shredder swarm attacking everything but the boss because be was so low in HP is seriously really stupid.
Hello, congrats for your run ! Is there a reason to pick lower +dmg to all weapon instead of +dmg to the current weapon ?

I believe Thunderbird drones is the hardest one to beat

Shredder grenade sucks so much. At level 31 it can barely open an egg.
fun vid, how bout the boomerang...
i dunno, i found the boomerang waay easier then these two.
All other weapon are like easy mode compare to these utter garbage lol
Any status effect or d.o.t. is total cancer if it becomes a twins run
Why no triple split? Was it the -30% to damage making it bad or was it just to make it harder for you? Honest question.
He was trying something different, cuz in the stream he failed multiple times with the triple split
Did triple split in the previous attempts and wanted to simply test it.
Theoretically, no triple split could possibly be better because the damage is less spread out all over the place and more concentrated, thus actually killing more consistently instead of just damaging everything.
@@idlecub 👍 Thanks

Oh my god! That was so intense!!!! Shredder is shite))))

All masteries drop them. Just the stage and location is random.
Always map 2
And if you do a 10 stage run, 2 cores spawn; 1 in the first 5 stages and 1 in the last 5 stages
How does the heal mechanic for twins work? Sometimes it feels like they regroup and heal every time I tickle them, and other times they hardly ever heal. I don't understand.
They heal when the health difference between them gets too big. You want to spread your damage as best as possible among them
"SHREDDER SWARM GRENADE" best name, worst weapon
lol 👍👍
The Shredderswarm Grenade is the worst weapon in the entire game. Everything on it is garbage...
Sub 1 minute gang
Aww im 2 min gang 😢
