Thanks Sebuwa, very nice review indeed. I especially enjoyed the fact that this was for me such a local review, as I live and work in Pretoria North and the dealership is just up the road from me (usually reviews are in far off exotic locations like the Cape). Just a point on Haval, Haval grew out of the GWM stable and the GWM M4 and Haval H1 are essentially the same car. A few years ago I purchased a basic GWM Steed 5 Workhorse bakkie and has immensely impressed with the vehicle, the quality of materials, workmanship, features (even for a bottom of the range vehicle), the warranty and service were all exceptional. Sadly the vehicle was stolen. Also, the old Cherry Tiggo was in fact quite a good vehicle (I have a friend who had one and was very happy with it - sadly it too was stolen). In my experience Chinese vehicles are just as good as more established vehicle brands, and in some instances even better. There should be no hesitation in considering the Chinese brands if one is in the market for a new car, especially SUV or bakkie. The Cherry Tiggo 4 is a really exciting and good looking vehicle, and I will be taking a drive (or maybe a short walk) up to the Cherry Dealership here in Pretoria North in the not too distant future. Keep up the good work.
Thanks a lot Nick, truly appreciate the warm words and great to see that you checked out the video even when you could have just walked to the dealership 🙂🙂🙂. Congratulations Thapelo. Have many happy kilometres. It will probably go lower and settle with time. That's how cars are generally, just that with Chery/Haval they are starting quite high than normal and over time you need to go easy on the throttle to get good consumption.
Yeah, I heard they will be returning to Australia. They came back here directly through establishing a South African office, hope they will do the same for Australia as they seem to be on the right track. The price here is R360,000 for a top spec Elite SE equivalent to $31,300 that side.

What is cylinder capacity is and how much is the price of asset 4 pro I am from South America and if you could have when the Braca is for Bolivia most of all
Hi, normally DRLs go off once you put on main projectors, I am honestly not sure if Chery allows you to turn them on. Unless if you talking about fog lights which will be on the light switch showing some lines in front.
Hi Tinashe, the DR brand was born out of Chinese components made to meet "European Standard" at the time when it started. My little research tells me it even started out of a Tiggo Chasis as the owner got into an agreement with Chery. I guess that is still continuing to this day🤔
Well, Jolion and H6 (Lux to Lux) seem to have almost similar sound systems, they are okay but the higher you go (I mean towards the end kind of high), it gets to lose a little bit of quality. They are not that much different to the Tiggo 4pro in that sense but I find the Tiggo's sound system a little better in terms of balance and quality.
Jeroen, why are you punishing me? 🤣 Honestly, there is no straight answer to that. Jolion wins the comfort and spec battle and this wins the driveability battle. I am talking Jolion Lux and Elite SE this side.
Hi Sebuwa Nice review. I'm buying the elite manual. I'm old school and like to drive. Auto cars are boring. Car comes from PE and I blevieve I'm the first to buy one in George. I had a long chat with another owner of the manual. Economy is about 7.5 to 9.0 per 100. This is ok for 1.5 turbo. I think it's the best buy in the class. Jolion very nice but this car more agile and nippier. Also guys Jolion is heavier on fuel. 10 to 12 km per 100. Tiggo drive train better. Jolion feels like driving a ship. Most important for me is warrantee is better on Chery 5 years 150 000 km. Jolion only 100 000km. Also 1m 10 year on engine says a lot. Chery opening in George early next year.
@@KnightArno Hi Arno, I don't see why you should not take it. Glad that you will be able to get a dealership close by as that is important on new models, incase of system updates and any snags you may need to deal with. I see you truly are old school, manual is a lot of work yoh...🙂 Congratulations on the purchase though, hope you have many happy kilometres.👏🏾
@@sebuwam hallo sir, I just wanted to find out is this Chery tiggo is the same price range and a Renault Kiger, what is the monthly installment on this one?
You know its the 1st question I got when I returned the car to the dealership, like it was in my head, it was also in their head🤣. I have to say Jolion still takes the comfort one but performance wise, this feels a little quicker, not sure if its the additional wind noise over the Jolion or what as the numbers are not necessarily far off with Jolion only 3kw less.
Suprisingly the average fuel kept saying 5L/100km, I don't know how real is that but I am thinking people who drive it are not pushing it, I've seen another video where it was doing around 8L to 100km. Chery is claiming 5.7L/100km extra urban which is possible if you are easy on it based on what I've seen.
Are the parts easily available, and what's your take on its longevity? Do you see it holding it together for 5 years+ without to many faults...with good handling from my side that is??? I would really like to hear your input
Hi, its fairly new to know about parts availability but they have many dealerships to handle problems across the country. I don't doubt it can hold for long as it feels well screwed. What I can't vouch for is mechanical and electrical faults because there is no enough history for me to rely on it.
I traded 2020 Polo TSI for Sonet mid August. Drove it like 3 000km and changed it for Chery mid September 😂. Petrol wise, Sonet is good. But in terms of modification, technology and Power (Chery) takes the cup.
@@koketsomatlakala869 I agree there. The Chery will edge the Sonet on tech and power! I am yet to drive the Sonet turbo but numbers agree with this sentiment so far. I can imagine how much you were blown away to change it after only 3000km😅
Good review and great to see Chinese vehicles exceeding expectations 😀. How was the average fuel economy on your test run? Other publications indicate 9 to 10 litres per 100km which is still quite high...
They really are working hard to turn the tables and so far they are coming alright. Suprisingly it was 5L/100km. I think people who test it are not pushing it as hard hence the low figures but I have seen somewhere it was just above 8L. Thanks a lot for the warm words🙂
@@sebuwam Thank you so much for the information. If you were getting between 5 and 8 litres per 100 than it's more or less average for the class of car it competes in. Keep up the great work with your reviews.👍 👏 . Hope you can get us a review of the Toyota Urban Cruiser sometime...
Hi Sebu, Just had a look at the video again and the fuel consumption. It is 5km per litre which is shocking. Surprisingly none of your other subscribers picked up on this. If 5km per litre is the cas, it's a no no from me. Thanks for the review.
Hi Amanda, without a doubt. It will surely fit for a female driver. Big enough to carry extra people and intimate enough when you drive alone. Easy to drive (especially in CVT variants) and comfortable.
@@sebuwam thank you . I heard there is not a real tire but a dummy tire what is a dummy tire and can it be used in the case of a tire puncture . Does one have to buy a new spare tire , and how much would that be
@@amandakwela6463 Hi Amanda. I would assume that you are referring go the spare wheel. What that would mean is a space saver spare wheel which is smaller than the tyres the car is running on. Spare wheel is never recommended to be used for too long. For a 225/60/R17 tyre it can range between +/-R1.4K and +/-R2.5K depending on the brand you choose.
@@amandakwela6463 They are made so that you can carry on with your journey and get a new tyre wherever you get to. They are called "space savers" because they save space in the boot, had they put a full tyre it was gonna affect boot space. So the issue with it is that since its smaller the car will not be balanced, some people drive with it for longer, I would assume its for financial reasons but you will be limited in how you drive the car as it has recommended speed limit and so in.
🤣. You throwing the spanner in the works. Especially because 1st time buyers may choose this car over the Polo based on the recent shift to SUVs/Crosses. You making me to think of cross segment competition which is very much possible🤔
Yeah, bottom of the range 2022 polo R312 000 VS bottom of the range tiggo R269000 with much better specs and warranty. Entry level buyers are spoilt for choice with the new entries into the market and those who aren't stuck on a badge will reap the rewards.
I live right next to this dealership. I'm shocked that I didn't make it into the video in the background at all. 🤭🤭 Also I'm thinking of getting the CVT Comfort. Seems like it's all the car I need right now. This or the Kia Sonet seem to be a good idea for my little family of two soon to be 3. Great review as usual.

As I said before, they are now changing the narrative. The world is actually shaking. If you look into electric cars and see how much they are doing, the West is surely scared.
I feel challenged🤣. Simply because I did not see Polo customers thinking again because of this and you are the 2nd person to raise this. I am also thinking actually people who are looking for something intimate like a Polo would still look at this and think "you know what, I think I can take it"

Hi Tinashe, the DR brand was born out of Chinese components made to meet "European Standard" at the time when it started. My little research tells me it even started out of a Tiggo Chasis as the owner got into an agreement with Chery. I guess that is still continuing to this day🤔

very good, your video, but I repeat again, when would I make a video with whip 4 Pro mechanical mechanical box
Please rephrase, I am losing you on the mechanical box🤔
I would like to know, how's the Jolion or H6's sound system compared to this(Tiggo 4 pro) one's?
Well, Jolion and H6 (Lux to Lux) seem to have almost similar sound systems, they are okay but the higher you go (I mean towards the end kind of high), it gets to lose a little bit of quality. They are not that much different to the Tiggo 4pro in that sense but I find the Tiggo's sound system a little better in terms of balance and quality.
Thanks too u this was top review i drove one recently I agree brand perception r changing
Its only the beginning and there is still room for improvement but they are way further than many expect. Especially at the price👌🏾
One conclusion for me: I might just buy this 🤔👍🏼
I have to say its a great vehicle and quite spacious suprisingly.🤔
The question is: is it better than the Jolion?
Jeroen, why are you punishing me? 🤣
Honestly, there is no straight answer to that. Jolion wins the comfort and spec battle and this wins the driveability battle. I am talking Jolion Lux and Elite SE this side.
The dashboard does not have a rev counter? I use that all the time!
It does on the right side of the speedometer circle, check when he accelerate it goes up

Or is it just the elite se?
Thanks
Hi Noorani, the Elite Model has voice control. The only difference between Elite and SE is the Ambient lighting.
@@sebuwam thanks a lot Brother!
Hi Sebuwa
Nice review.
Its a seriously a close one between this and the Jolion and its those little things that will eventually help decide which one to take.
Hi..NYC layout of your video..thinks for a great review..now I'm interested
🙂🙂... Thank you very much🙏🏾. It is indeed worth a check!
Wow it’s not bad at all!
It really is not bad at all🙂
So you'd say the jolion is slightly ahead? Or within same range?
And how's fuel economy on the 4 pro?
I think it's a great suv👌👌👌
They surely worked hard to give us a good product👏🏾
Are the parts easily available, and what's your take on its longevity? Do you see it holding it together for 5 years+ without to many faults...with good handling from my side that is??? I would really like to hear your input
Hi, its fairly new to know about parts availability but they have many dealerships to handle problems across the country. I don't doubt it can hold for long as it feels well screwed. What I can't vouch for is mechanical and electrical faults because there is no enough history for me to rely on it.
Longevity .i think that 10 year 1mln kms shows they are confident about their cars
Just bought mine today collecting tomorrow
@@sebuwamhows the car now? Any faults so far?
@@lakshitikki7778 Hi, I did not buy it. I was just reviewing it
Hi, how bad would you rate the wind noise?
I can put it with Audi Q2 in one bracket. Not as quite as a Corolla Cross/ Haval Jolion but much much better than a lot of cars similarly priced.
@@sebuwam Many thanks for the reply, and the review. I am definitely interested in the Chery. How would you rate it?
@@johanmsc At R360K for the top spec one, I'd buy it myself. The closest to it in terms of value for money is the Haval Jolion Lux.
Pity we had to wait so much for this detail when we needed it sooner😪
True. Actually waited for so long to finally manage to get one on the dealership floor. Otherwise, Thanks for being here Nobuhle 🙂
Technology in Chery made me to trade in my top of the range Kia Sonet 1.0 EX+.
So fast, that car just came out. When did you buy it? How much value did it retain?
I traded 2020 Polo TSI for Sonet mid August. Drove it like 3 000km and changed it for Chery mid September 😂. Petrol wise, Sonet is good. But in terms of modification, technology and Power (Chery) takes the cup.
In terms of the value, it was still high. Didn't lose at all.
@@koketsomatlakala869 I agree there. The Chery will edge the Sonet on tech and power! I am yet to drive the Sonet turbo but numbers agree with this sentiment so far. I can imagine how much you were blown away to change it after only 3000km😅
@@koketsomatlakala869 I guess that's a win for Kia then🤔😉
Why dont you say the price?
I thought I did somewhere in there but definitely in the description🙂
Hi Sebu,
Just had a look at the video again and the fuel consumption. It is 5km per litre which is shocking. Surprisingly none of your other subscribers picked up on this. If 5km per litre is the cas, it's a no no from me. Thanks for the review.
Would you recommend for female drivers
@@sebuwam if I'm understanding correctly a space saver wheel can't be used in the space of a real spare wheel Tyre.
Thank you for the response
@@amandakwela6463 They are made so that you can carry on with your journey and get a new tyre wherever you get to. They are called "space savers" because they save space in the boot, had they put a full tyre it was gonna affect boot space. So the issue with it is that since its smaller the car will not be balanced, some people drive with it for longer, I would assume its for financial reasons but you will be limited in how you drive the car as it has recommended speed limit and so in.
Nice vehicle indeed.chiness are on another level.they mean business this time around

Vw polo you are in trouble!
