Appreciate everyone’s kind comments on this today, it’s been hard as hell for me this year but being a little open and vulnerable about it is refreshing.
Speaking as a pretty much perma-burnt out creator, I don't think "a few months of rest" is a realistic timeframe to heal from burnout. Sometimes you gotta take the droughts as they come, even when they last years...
(Especially, _especially_ considering the personal circumstances you speak about. I don't wanna belittle them or anything, I just don't have insight on that specific aspect of your troubled year!)
Personally I'm pretty excited to see you pick DD back up. It is by far my favorite in the AA series, but I also wouldn't feel sad if next week's scheduled stream ended up falling through at the last minute. I've been there and I'd get it.
I am devouring your Umineko series. I think you’re underselling how much your streams feel like your scheduled videos. You def have a knack for it and wouldn’t mind if you continue to primarily stream. I commute 1h30m for work every day, and umineko…and YOU have been keeping me sane 💕 Don’t feel taking time to regain your own sanity
I lost someone i loved to pancreatic cancer at the start of this year, so I completely understand where you're at. Take all the time you need, make sure you're taking care of your mental and physical health, and know that we'll be here when you're ready. Much love to you 💚💚💚
Imma say it til I lose my voice, *TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF*. Even if you revert to shorter form content, Imma watch it. You're an incredibly talented individual, and your retrospectives got me through some rough patches when I was strickened with burnout. Never apologize for doing self-care. Can't wait for the new stuff. And have an awesome day!!
Good lord ... after hearing what you went through, a hiatus is needed and don't be ashamed ig you need more time in the future. We can wait, you health, physical or mental take priority.
The Umineko streams have been a highlight for me this year, helping me though a tough year too, Thank you for your openess and looking forward to seeing what you do next :)
As someone who found you because of your Umineko streams and then fell down a rabbit hole of binging your other content, I just want to thank you for bringing my partners and I so much joy through a rough year. You have brought so much joy and fun to us through what is one of the hardest things anyone can go through. Here's to a much less turbulent year for you and yours! Can't wait for more Higurashi and Ace Attorny!
Cant say I wasn't disappointed when you stopped the DR:A streams but I understand that this has been a rough year and I've enjoyed everything else you've put out, you were actually the one who got me to play dr:a and eventually the sequel too so I'm grateful for that. You were also the one who introduced me to Umineko too and that I cannot thank you for enough lol. Glad to see that you are in a place where you can upload more and whatever you make I'm excited to see it :)
I was so occupied with the Umineko streams I didn't realise there was less output this year, but I'm glad you're feeling well enough to do more. Much love 💜
Hey Nezumi! As a longtime fan of your Ace Attorney and Danganronpa videos, I’m very happy that you feel well enough to come back now, and I’m glad that you were able to have a break! Losing family members to cancer is heartbreaking, and I can empathize with you on that. Let alone your dad, I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope you know that none of us wanted to rush your recovery, and we’ll still be here no matter what videos you put out! We’re all here for you, Nezumi!!!
On the bright side shadow gens is an excellent way to jump back into video land. Also oh no only a 50 minute video "Now I'm Gonna Starve". For real though hope things get better, you got this
I think we all understand and wish you the best, Nezumi. We're here because we love your content- and as they say, peak takes time. Your health and wellbeing is the most important thing, and I hope you have a much better 2025!
Whenever and whatever it is you're prepared to create, I've no doubt it shall be excellent as always. As many others have said before me, take all the time you require to heal and reconcile, and apologizing for absence in the face of such adversity and heartbreak is sincerely not necessary in the least. The creation of art proves one of the most persistently meticulous and emotionally-taxing processes a human being could conceivably undertake, and so accommodating whichever schedule you require truly is a simple matter, particularly considering the factors pertinent to your present creative endeavors. Do take care, I eagerly anticipate your future work.
*I presently find myself embroiled within some insurmountable creative burnout and whatnot, so I do unequivocally empathize with the struggle lol. However, perhaps that very struggle shall itself prove wholly conducive to crafting something of true resonance, the archetypal and subjective ideas such expression innately epitomizes constructing a sentiment with which others can empathize.
Your voice, both in your writing and your actual voice acting, is fantastic! And however long of a break you need, it will be worth the wait to hear you dive into the things you're passionate about!! Really looking forward to the Perfect Blue-ish video! 🙌🙌
take as much time as you need Nezumi. video's and content should never be a primary focus over your mental health. we aren't going anywhere. stay strong.🤗
Even having followed the community posts, it is very good to hear your own voice talk about what's going on. Obviously you aren't be obligated to explain what's happening- this is your creative space and we come here for you- but it's good to hear from you regardless. Don't feel any pressure to be working or producing at the rate you were prior, please do what you can to make it by. I am still incredibly sorry for your unimaginable loss. It's okay to hold on to more of yourself if you need to. That being said, concerning easy to stream games, what about Sonic X Shadow Generations? I know you have the longer-form analysis incoming, but relearning Generations as well as speedrunning the Shadow stages go the best of my ability, replaying them over and over, had been a good way to distract myself from The Horrors persisting more virulently than ever. It might just be a fun "brain off" chatting game right now. Regardless, we love and appreciate you Nezumi, and wish for you to take care of yourself. Things getting better doesn't always tend to be a linear progress bar and I'm sure that the world at large is going to be creating even more problems to go through than the tragedy that you're already facing, but know you have my utmost faith and support throughout it
Glad to hear you’re doing better, it really seemed like the world was determined to hurt you specifically this year. Try not to push yourself too hard and burn out, your emotional/physical/mental health is more important than content (ofc money being connected muddles that, hopefully you have friends and family who can help when needed) Excited to see more from you :)
Take all the time you need. Nothing is more important than your mental health, please focus on that before making videos. I say this but it sounds like you've already done that. If you need anymore time please take it, I'm sure everyone will understand. And if they don't, screw em. Hope everything works out and can't wait for your next video regardless of its length. Sidenote love the Rena Ryuugu inspired avatar!
I’m really happy you’re streaming Higurashi! I believe it was you who introduced me to that 6 hour long retrospective on Gou, and, despite absolutely not being the target audience for that video, I’ve been interested in the series ever since, even watching through multiple times. I grew to love the story despite never really knowing it. So, seeing you stream it, I finally got to experience the thing I’ve loved for so long. It also got me to watch your Umineko streams, I’m still really early on in them, only just got done the 5th stream, but, now I love this story as well. Idk, it’s just, I really appreciate the things you do, and the love and joy they have been able to give me. I wish I could say something more related to the video at hand, but I just got finished an 8 hour night shift and I’m all out of think. Still, I wanted to at least try and show how much what you do, and what you create means to me, and I’m sure countless others
Damn, sounds like you've been going the fuck through it. Take your time. Everything is a mess, and it's not on you to act like it's all fine. Hopefully I'll be able to catch ya live sometime, and looking forward to what you've got coming up next! And FWIW, coming off the heels of your SIGNALIS vid, I am very excited to see what "really weird" looks like in the context of your work.
Thank you for this video, both as a means to lay some of these things off your chest, and a means to keep us posted. I hope you recover from the cold soon, and feel at least somewhat more stable, just for your own sake. Your work is always worth the wait, and we're all just glad you're not actively harming yourself for the sake of consistent top-tier videos all the time forever. Sending you all the hope and strength a comment can produce, and hoping you're a little kinder to yourself, even when you're not following the plan you've got to a T. Stay safe, and take your time. 🌺
Take as much time as you need nezumi! There's enough content from you to watch for at least a year. Rest is the most important thing. I'll always support you when you're ready to come back!
Your DRA streams reignited my love for that series and inspired me to start work on a cosplay- I’m glad to hear you’re feeling better, and your Perfect Blue concept sounds interesting! Please take your time, we’re here and we appreciate you!
why do you always do these typa videos when youre sick😭 anyways i hope you get well soon remember this is a job but you arent obligated to dedicate your entire life to it take a while to give yourself a breather i commend you for pushing yourself for your fans
Don’t have many words that haven’t already been expressed by so many others, but I will echo the sentiment: whatever you need in order to heal, recover, and/or continue on, take it - even if that means slower video production or continuing the streams. Sometimes disappearing from the pressure of your channel (no matter how much you enjoy what you do) is healthy, and it’s wonderful you’ve found joy in streaming. Take care Marcie 💚
Sending all the love to your family 💜 I totally understand the reasons for wanting/needing to continue working on videos and such, but I hope you're able to take health breaks whenever you can. I hope life is kinder to you in the future ^^
I remember when I lost my gran to cancer a good few years ago now, and it destroyed me as we were very close, and I lost my other gran earlier this year too, so I completely understand how you feel, and I'm sure the rest of us do too. Please take any more time you need, we don't want you to push yourself to release content when you're unable to for a multitude of reasons. We love you, Marcie, and we hope you're okay. We'll still be here when you're ready to come back.
One of my favorite moments from the Boondocks is “What do you do when you can’t do nothing, but there’s nothing you can do?” “You do what you can.” So thank you for doing what you could. We supported you during these trying times and will continue to do so
You’ve had a fucking awful year, I’m so sorry for everything you and yours went through this year. We’re here and we love what you make and share, and we’ll still be here while you take the time you need to recover. (Also I think the Umineko crew’s gonna be rewatching the VODs over and over again like I have to pick the story and its themes apart so that should help with watch-time hopefully :3c )
My condolences on your loss I know how it's like to lose a father it's always hurts but I promise it gets easier with time play wish you the best of luck on your grieving process I must have an a lot
I'm so sorry to hear about everything that happened, that's so much to go through. I hope you're doing a bit better at least. For what it's worth, I am excited for a shadow gens video! Be safe!
Considering my own struggles with burnout the last couple years as an artist, I feel ya a lot. I haven't had the same earth changing struggles as you have, but I know how it feels trying to keep yourself going through a tsunami of misfortune and the inability to just pick up your tool of choice and work on what you want/need to. Take the time you can to recompose. God knows whatever you'll cook is gonna be quality, Marcie~
I definitely feel that on only being able to do one thing at once. When you have no energy to give it can really be just that. Whenever you get back to DRA1, I'll be excited to see more. Even if it took a year or years. Same goes for your other stuff as well. You always have interesting thoughts to share. I hope things get better for you. I know a lot of us are hurting or exhausted. But we do what we can. I hope you are able to rest and recover still as you get back into things, but i know sometimes what we have to do doesnt line up with the spoons we have available. Hang in there, glad you shared a bit of what had/is going on.
I've really been loving your stream series! Thanks for continuing to share the things you have had the energy to make. Please take your time and I wish you the best!
my dad passed this year as well and me and him bonded over your danganronpa another streams. thank you for giving me the opportunity to spend that time with him ❤️ please take as much time as you need and remember that your content is a gift for us, not a requirement.
Nezumi- I just wanna say, youve been a boon and a blessing this past year or so that Ive found your channel. Please- take the time you need and continue to keep your health in mind. I’ll happily wait for your next stream or video :D
I know this is just some random comment, but loss sucks genuinely so much. Your essays are genuinely so fun to watch and I just love listening to your voice, I do hope you get better soon
I'll be as patient as I need to be for your videos. It takes an extremely talented creator to get me to sit through tens of hours of series I've never even touched before. (also, thank you for getting me into Higurashi)
I'm excited to see what you have in store, but your mental well-being comes first. Take all the time you need, what you do is more than enough for all of us.
So here's the thing.I absolutely adore your videos. I have watched the 11 hour ace Attorney video 3 times and I am on my 4th rewatch now. Take as long as you need. I also am really struggling mentally and 2022 was my version of your 2024. I lost everything in that year and haven't fully gotten my stride back even now when I have so much positivity around me. So please prioritize yourself and your mental health. Wishing you the best.
You are truly one of my favorite content creators. I have been rewatching your retrospectives nightly to wind down and fall asleep. Enjoyed the Umineko streams. And so enjoying the Higurashi read through. Take your time, you have so much great content that I find very rewatchable. Thanks for all your efforts and hoping you feel better!
I ran across your content through your DR retrospectives and the that cascaded into your AA retrospectives. I love your content, but i also recognize there is a person behind it. I am so sorry to hear about your father. The fact you only took 2 weeks is insane but i also understand this is your financial source. The burn out as well is just soooo real. Either way whatever you wish to do, myself, and i imagine this community, will be behind you 1000%
your praise for umineko was one of the things that pushed me toward giving it a shot and, now that i'm nearing the end of that journey (midway through episode 8 as i'm writing this), it's already become one of those works of fiction that will stay with me as long as i live. to me it's a profoundly flawed work, but one whose flaws i'm more than willing to forgive because it's made me feel thoughts and think feelings that i didn't realise were possible, and one that's willing to bare its heart to the reader. thank you for being a part of the reason i got to go on this journey. i'll probably be having your streams of umineko in the background while i work in the coming months, so thank you for that too. hope everything gets better for you.
I wish you nothing but the best! ❤ If you need a break, take it. If you post something, I'll be there! It's been a lot for you, and yeah, adult life sucks. So I guess we should try our best to make them good memories or at least, funny! I'm not the best at this, but I really wish you the best of the best. ☆
As many have said, you don't have to apologize for anything! It's been a rough year, and you've been through way too much. I want to say take as much time as you need to rest and recover, but I also understand the pressures of adult life getting in the way of that. But be assured, you got people who understand and will stick by your side to help provide support when possible, as best as we can.
Marcie, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Please give yourself some grace; you have nothing to apologize for; your Umineko streams were incredible. I am enjoying your Higurashi streams as well. I will donate to you as soon as I can. Please take good care of yourself.
Oh yea I forgor this channel even existed 😭 But that aside I hope you do make a full recovery. Take as much time as you need. I have the bell on here so Im gonna be back even in a few years tbh.
Subscribed to your channel a few days ago. I love long video essays about media & pop culture & your channel is really good. You're also an awesome voice actor & I think you are a very cute & funny person. I hope you will be ok. You go, girl!
Sending you so much love, you've been through a lot and I feel a lot for you. I'm sadly in a similar position right now; my dad is diagnosed with bowel cancer and I feel the same about feeling guilty for wanting independence while your family is sick (my dad is doing okay right now, but the thought of the worst can linger....). It breaks my heart you've had such a difficult year, and I really hope that you are taking as much time as you need to look after yourself and don't feel pressured to churn content out. On a more positive note, excited to hear what you've got in the works! As soon as I heard about Shadow Generations, I was hoping you'd provide thoughts on it ;w; again, sending you all my love and hoping you feel better soon
Take as much time as you need, health should come first ❤ Maybe you can shout out your Patreon and kofi a bit more, trust me, people wouldnt mind, and it would maybe take some pressure of the financial situation
I feel bad not watching your streams (as your long form scripted media has kept me going through my art and my own analysis) But I genuinely hope you find rest and solace, when I get any chance to have money I will toss it your way because you honestly deserve it.
Oh my God, Nezumi... For me, it's like you never left, seeing as you've been streaming so consistently (even if I haven't had the time to watch them), and releases were spaced out already, but no wonder videos have been scarce... I am so sorry this year's been so rough on you. This, of all years... 😮💨 By all rights, considering what you've had to endure... I think you're doing pretty well, making it this far. Take whatever time you need for everything, girl. You always put out quality content; whenever and however often you upload, a lot of us aren't going anywhere. So take care of yourself, and... I hope it goes well! 🩷
I don’t wanna sound edgy but I definitely get being emotionally tired and unable to really put effort into things because of death. For me I feel like I’m getting tired of death and having to feel those emotions. Not in the sense that I’m numb to it but more like having to feel it over and over again in what feels like so little time. In the past 10 years, I’ve lost 3 cats, my great grandfather died, my grandfather’s sister died. I didn’t even have much attachment to those specific family members but I felt my father and my mother’s sadness. And through all that I’ve had to come to terms with the fact that with me being the youngest of my family I’ll be the last one left. It’s really depressing and mentally draining but I try not to let it get to me and I was able to finally put it into words and sort of purge that sadness thanks to my brother. I still feel those emotions but I’ve learned the best we can do is accept that life that we have and the life we got to witness and keep living.
I just want to say that I didn't notice the slowing of uploads at ALL, and 5 videos a year still feels like a LOT with the length and quality that they are. Seeing the title of this video originally had me genuinely confused because to me, you seemed active as ever. Maybe all the streams you've been doing recently contributed to that, but I don't think anyone will be disappointed in you if you take an extended break, because your content is long & in-depth enough to tide plenty of people over. Hope you're doing well
My gran passed away back in February. I wouldn’t say it was sudden, she was in her late 80s and had been in a nursing home for about 7 years by that point. It felt like more a question if “when” than “if” for all that time, and probably some time before, too. Even then… somehow, the prospect didn’t feel *real* until well after it was. I guess grief can be like that, huh? Couple months later, my brother in law’s father(one of my favorite people’s favorite person) also passed away. Also at a pretty advanced age, but far less expected. 2024 really has been just the absolute worst, hasn’t it? I don’t know how much words from a virtual stranger mean, but I’m sorry life’s sucked this year, and from the bottom of my heart I hope things continue to improve. On a professional level I respect you wanting to give your YT base an update, but on an emotional level I hope you don’t feel like you owe us anything. Take as long as you need to heal, girl. We understand.
Holy crap dude, take care of yourself as best you can and take all the time you need. We'll be here when you come back, and we'll be rewatching everything til then 🫶🫶
Damn, I had no idea you had so much happen within the past year. It's completely understandable that you'd slow down on here. Take care of yourself first
As most people are saying, you do what you need to do first! Mental health comes first and if that means you make shorter stuff along the lines of the Dollhouse video as opposed to the nearly 13 hours of Ace Attourney stuff then thats what that means! What matters most is that you're not miserable making it. Side note, that Dollhouse video is peak.
I wouldn't say disappeared, you still posted pretty regularly ! Please take care of your mental and physical health, even if it involves actually "disappearing" and not posting for a while. We'll still be there whenever you come back, the most important thing is living your life well and resting as much as you need !!
Appreciate everyone’s kind comments on this today, it’s been hard as hell for me this year but being a little open and vulnerable about it is refreshing.

Always loved your content and I'm excited for more,
But your own mental health and well being is way more important ❤
Your ace attorney videos are the best around. I love them and will wait however long you need to make them. Keep it up.
Take as much time as you need nezumi! There's enough content from you to watch for at least a year. Rest is the most important thing. I'll always support you when you're ready to come back!
Hope youll get better
It's ok we understand. I'm glad to know that you're doing better now. And yeah depression sucks.
Your content is so rewatchable and each video is so high quality that taking a few months or even a year to rest is expected and recommended.
Take all the time you need. Don't feel pressured to come back so quickly. Take time and rest your mind. ❤❤
Take as much time as you need and take good care of yourself! ❤❤
Take your time, burnout is a tough one and rest is important as much as it can be afforded
One of my favorite moments from the Boondocks is
“What do you do when you can’t do nothing, but there’s nothing you can do?”
“You do what you can.”
So thank you for doing what you could.
Take your time to heal and don’t worry about us! I love rewatching your videos
it's all good, don't worry :3
Also, make sure to take care of your mental health, there are tons of people who care about you🫂
I've really been loving your stream series!
Thank you so much for your generosity! And I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm really glad to hear you both could enjoy that together.
@ thank you for being an awesome creator!
Take all the time you need, we luv you 🖤
Nezumi- I just wanna say, youve been a boon and a blessing this past year or so that Ive found your channel. Please- take the time you need and continue to keep your health in mind. I’ll happily wait for your next stream or video :D
Very very excited for the Perfect Blue vid! Sending lots of love for whatever that’s worth ❤️
You have no idea how many times I've rewatched your Danganronpa videos, I love them so much! Keep up the great work and take care of yourself! ^^
Don't worry about it, we'll still be here when you come back! take all the time you need, and hope you feel better :3
Please take good care of yourself.
i really dont know the feeling of any of that but i really hope things will get better. take your time. im so sorry for you loss
Oh yea I forgor this channel even existed 😭
But that aside I hope you do make a full recovery.
Don't worry, take as much time as you need. I'll be back right away when you return, and your stuff is very rewatchable anyway! 😊
Hope you’re doing good and staying safe. If you need to talk to someone or need help, there are people who care. Sending support and hearts. ❤️❤️❤️
Mental health is always the most important, take as much as you need to recuperate. I pray for your healing!❤❤❤ We love you
Nice to see you are at least alright, I was such a huge fan since I saw the SATAM video, do look after yourself.
i love the streams, but not enough to mess up my sleep schedule to catch them live
Take as much time as you need, health should come first ❤
Maybe you can shout out your Patreon and kofi a bit more, trust me, people wouldnt mind, and it would maybe take some pressure of the financial situation
I feel bad not watching your streams (as your long form scripted media has kept me going through my art and my own analysis)
But I genuinely hope you find rest and solace, when I get any chance to have money I will toss it your way because you honestly deserve it.
take your time nezumi! dont force yourself to do anything if you dont feel up to it, we'll still be here :)
Oh my God, Nezumi... For me, it's like you never left, seeing as you've been streaming so consistently (even if I haven't had the time to watch them), and releases were spaced out already, but no wonder videos have been scarce... I am so sorry this year's been so rough on you. This, of all years... 😮💨
By all rights, considering what you've had to endure...
We understand.
take as much time you need
Holy crap dude, take care of yourself as best you can and take all the time you need. We'll be here when you come back, and we'll be rewatching everything til then 🫶🫶
Also lost my dad this year, held vigil as he passed. no question one of the most difficult things i've gone through. ❤❤❤❤❤
the Rena fit on the avatar is so cute !!!
Damn, I had no idea you had so much happen within the past year. It's completely understandable that you'd slow down on here. Take care of yourself first
Being an adult sucks. I want a refund.
*hugs* I'm so sorry to hear about your family situation, that had to have been super rough.
we're happy to just see you :)
I follow you for Ace Attorney stuff and watch other vids like Higuashi or Umineko. Please take care of yourself
Take the time you need to take care of your mental health, your health is most important and we wish you the best
I'm sorry to hear about your Dad, Marcie. :(
>"shorter videos"
>shadow gens video is 40-50 minutes long
you are a graceful goddess
yeah my 2024 was pretty bad too, seems to be a tough year for everyone
I wouldn't say disappeared, you still posted pretty regularly !
Please take care of your mental and physical health, even if it involves actually "disappearing" and not posting for a while.
We'll still be there whenever you come back, the most important thing is living your life well and resting as much as you need !!
Take all the time you need to recover.
