Can anyone please explain why the winds blowing in north west direction from southern hemisphere turn towards north east when it crosses equator. Is the topography at africa the only reason?

Winds turn left in southern hemisphere and right in the northern hemisphere because the earth is rotating at a constant speed from West to east

Yes sir but the winds are coming from south and turning towards east to give us monsoons. So they are turning right. A bit confused. M sorry!
