7:45 I was REALLY disappointed with how they handled the RIP mod. They simply added one life and an Adventure+ mode with one lawnmower. The game is easy enough to beat with the RIP mod on the first try without any special skills, but damn, it's SO BORING TO PLAY
the worst part is how literally EVERY single one of the original creators of PVZ were 100% open to working on replanted and making the definitive version of PVZ once and for all, and yet, not even a single one was contacted to help with the new game. but hey dont worry! they hired 3 guys to help work on the game that probably didnt even know what PVZ was until they were asked about it! how awesome of popcap!
Not to mention that RIP mode doesn't spawn the Yeti zombie for some reason, so you have to play adventure mode AGAIN (for a third time at least) to get that achievement

8:24 fun? fact!: they also cut costs on the chinese level, I'm not kidding so there's an old chinese pvz1 mobile port with exclusive content called pvz great wall edition and one of the more notable changes there are the completely replaced, brand new survival levels unlike in the original mobile port where there's 5 survivals and 1 endless version, here you got one regular and 5 endless ones (tho one of them is the more og endless survival pool level, also correct me if I'm wrong on the number of them) and each one of those survivals, unlike the og ones, had a more consistent group of zombies showing showing up, separate for each one in fact there were even brand new zombies to fight against for example the talizman zombie who's based on a chinese zombie thing that's the same ones you see at the bottom of the achievements menu but basically their health is in the middle of a bucket and a football and at around half health they would, kinda like a newspaper zombie but no newspaper so you can't obliterate them with pults or something, enrage and speed up but first they would take their hat off and throw it's talizman at one of the plants in its lane, stunning that plant for a few seconds by putting it to sleep oh wait that's the zombie used in the first survival level the one you can actually complete and the one with uses the exact same zombies other than talizman as the replanted chinese level that also happens to use the same lawn that's only used in three of great wall editions survival levels yeah you get what I mean here they either didn't bother with making plants get stuck on a frame of their blink animation while being stunned or just didn't bother with making a brand new zombie so they just cut it and chipped the 5 flag survival level to a 2 flag regular where half of the zombie types in it have a chance of just not spawning and I have further proof of this as in some of the beta footage that we've seen before the games lunch, a level called china was seen in the survival section and what level was originally survival yup great remaster also I had to remake this comment cause youtube shit itself
the talisman zombie is a Jiangshi, basically a chinese folklore version of a zombie where talisman is basically their "counter" that only subdues them. It’s so sad to see what happened to both Pop Cap and their magnum opis, PvZ. Both had such great potential but were overtaken by such greed that basically turned them into a one-hit wonder milking their cash-cow for all its worth and neglecting the literal hundreds of other games they made. PvZ had such infinite potential for minigames and alternative game modes like a hard mode or zombotany playthrough of the normal campaign but instead of focusing on simple ways to make it more fun they just kept adding bells and whistles and on mobile they just spam ads and have basically run this franchise into the ground. The OG PvZ is still a masterpiece but once you’ve done everything it’s easy to lose interest. They could have fixed this easily with just adding/modding in more content; I wish PopCap never sold the rights to EA.
