Those kids are awesome, stunning, amazing. Literally chills. It can be seen that those kids have a lot of potential and let’s face it Les Mis is hard as hell to sing properly and hit every note. It’s obvious that their voices are not yet fully developed and we can’t expect teenagers to have voices of fully grown adults. Anyway their performance was stunning and I absolutely loved the dancing additions. The idea to make Javert and Valjean reconcile after their deaths is something I always missed in the original show and I am glad that someone finally did it. The Grantaire part during the ABC Cafe pure comedic gold. I am surprised no one has really done such things before. Whoever directed this show made a lot of amazing decisions which made watching this musical different than every other high school edition… I wish all the best to the actors and everyone involved in the production of this musical ❤
Hi! I just stumbled into this. I'd like to say that Fantine's progression on I dreamed a Dream is *chef's kiss* EVEN with the pre-recorded songs and speacilly with their teens (they look like teens, at least) Val Jean has a powerful voice and I lowkey wanted to see him as Javert (stars would be interesting) Master of the House is a banger, always a banger (idk about the tiktok dances, though). Highlight to Ms. Thenadier that got a bit metal by the end of it, I liked the female rage of having a sub-par husband, fits. Eponine is awesome, that's all. Perfect casting Marius and Cosette are love, they are life. Congrats to everyone involved, great job!!
Thank you so much! It's comments like this that warm my heart. Even though it wasn't perfect you were able to see talent and beauty in the show. Thank you!
Oh my goodness!!! Bring him home was outstanding! That young man definitely has a future in musical theatre! Can’t wait to see him in other productions!
@@jonathanloh1634 Yes you are correct. I was thinking about a different character. The director specifically wanted Javert and Valjean to reconcile. I was a beautiful moment at the end of the show.
That would be so fun! Dylan Bradford, who played Valjean, graduated last year though. He ended up winning best actor for the Utah High School Music Theater Awards and competed in New York over the summer with all the winners from each state.
The school has an amazing dance company and the director of the show wanted to utilize them in a way that hasn’t been done in Les Mis before. It was her creative take on a show that’s been done a million and one times. It’s a little out of the box but it was well received and I think it was a beautiful addition.
I am a big fan of Les Misérables and have seen it professionally staged four times, viewed the 10th and 25 anniversary concert productions as recorded at the Royal Albert Hall, London, and watched the movie version plus videos of at least 25 school productions. It is a huge project for a school to mount and most, as as one would expect, are like curates egg's, a mixture of good and bad. I regret having to say I found this one absolutely awful, with almost no redeeming features. So let me point to one of the very best school productions, albeit available only in fairly low quality video. It was produced in 2013 by the Royal Grammar School, Wycombe, England (tuition free, as is your school). It is an all-boys high school and included girls from three other schools in the surrounding area. The video is easily found on RUclips. To illustrate just one example of superior acting and singing, take a look at the fine performance of "On My Own", which carries genuine emotion. In my view the failure of the ALA production rests primarily with the direction rather than the students.
I could go on a rant about how ridiculous this comment is. But I won't. All I can say is that you have unrealistic expectations and you have almost no redeeming features. Good day sir!
I'll assume since you don't have any content on your channel that you don't know what you're talking about so I'll just give you a pass. But since you seem to think you know what you're talking about I'll go ahead and respond to your ignorant comment. First of all, we are a small school and we don't have the student population to take on such a musical with a live band. And even if we did there's no way a high school band would be able to do this justice. It would have been far worse than the pre-recorded music. Second, we don't have the money to afford a professional band. And third, and most important, when we purchased the rights to perform the musical, which is a stripped down school version by the way, we are given the script with the cuts and the prerecorded music. So the music is from the OWNERS OF THE MUSICAL! If you don't like the pre-recorded music then go talk to Les Miserable themselves. Good luck with that. And finally, how about you recognize the effort that these CHILDREN put into one of the hardest musicals of all time and quit your keyboard warrior comments and go back to playing your video games or whatever else you do. These kids did an incredible job and I'm proud of them even with pre-recorded music. Go troll someone else.
@@bellis1999everyone has a right to their opinion even if you don’t agree with it and that includes me. I never said anything about the kids performances so don’t get mad at me about that. Ever heard of a fundraiser? You and your lazy school can get an orchestra if you hold one.
Lots of small theaters use canned music, especially for new works. Without it, many good musicals would never get performed and there'd never be a chance for them to become something bigger.
Going falsetto at 58:50 is a super creative idea and it worked so well! I never seen it done before, congrats!
Thank you. He wanted to make that part a little more comedic. I think it worked really well!
The dynamic of Les Amis de l’Abc was so good ! They were all so fun and the Grantaire was really drunk

Truly an amazing performance by everyone , a well deserved bravo to everyone
Thank yo so much! This was a special show for all of us.
wait this is MINDBLOWINGLY good
Cosette use to be the Villain she did played Ursula from Disney the Little mermaid
She sounded amazing
Drøn well done by amateurs, that of the most difficult theater pieces to make, Hats off to the whole group SUPER.
Thank you so much. That means a lot. They put in so much work on a really difficult production. Thank you!
@@bellis1999Hello. Could you send me the backing tracks?
There are parts that i thought could be better....
But keeping in mind this is done by children.
I must congratulate them!
They did a wonderfull job
Thank you. It wasn't perfect by any means but for a show that has 5th-12th grades I think it was pretty amazing. Thanks for watching!
so pretty !
Bring him home was absolutely beautiful
Right?! We all cried every performance!
i like the key stars is in!
That musical is very beautifully made but I want the one with Nick Jones's in it that one was magical
Cosette actually was the creepiest character of Les Miserables
The young Cosette made just give me chills
I almost can't hear actor/actress voice clearly before they sang that song at finale part.
Someone remind me, who was the person that came to Jean after he died?
That's Fantine who is Cosette's mother. She died while he was taking care of her.

Pretty kool
Enjorlas sings Let others rise in Victory
Government official is waving the white flag in final Battle
Wondering if Dylan Bradford (Valjean) and Liliana Bradford (Fantine) are siblings. ??
No but they are cousins.
Thanks. I found that out watching another video. Beautiful voices run in the family!
Enjorals sings Let others rise that means Revolution has won the final Battle
Government sings you have no chance they betrayed anyone at the barricade
lmao the tik tok dances😂😂
Is it too much to ask for this cast to be a part of Sweeney Todd? Especially the one who played Jean Valjean as Sweeney Todd...
