Dear Lydia, I have just one input for you. I'm sure many of your friends have already told you this. Stop answering/commenting on negative comments. These comments are not meant to be informative or constructive criticism. They are aimed to bait you, and you take the bait many times. Your compulsion to try and explain yourself makes you take the bait. No amount of explaining is going to change the mind of the person making that comment. Because it has not been written to clear the air, the comment is there to pull you down. If you feel the overwhelming need to clarify or justify anything, just write an independent comment and pin it. Don't feed the negative. Peace.

I agree with this..plus whatever you are focusing on you just keep attracting more of it. I know it can probably be hard to leave it and then some people keep going on if people delete negative messages but I am a pure believer to either ignore it or cut it fully. It is your space and if you would go the delete way somebody mentioned below...you have a right...it is your space, your choice so why not!!
I am an older lady that lives in U.S. I found you on youtube and you inspire me so much. My dear Mother was from England, and it like listening to her or my grandmother when I listen to your beautiful accent. I love how you are so real. Please keep doing what you are doing.

Your pantry is getting there, that’s awesome; I’m giving you some unsolicited advice: clear containers. Baskets are cute, love them myself. However, they are not practical. I’ve used them... and then clear containers made their way into my life. They also look very clean and sleek. Give them a try!

I use fabric baskets for my closet. Such a great storage system!
Baskets in the kitchen pantry don’t work. I just removed mine and reused in other places like the laundry room. You need see through containers like wire baskets. You will see...
You need shallow baskets or clear boxes in your pantry! The idea of organisation is for it to be organised but you can see at a glance what is in there.
Tat E yes. Those baskets were a hot mess.
Clutterbug on RUclips explains that there are different types of organization personalities. Some of us need to see through the bins, while others of us prefer our things out of sight.
You don't really need to see where things are. I mean if everything has a place (in this case baskets, it wouldn't be my option though), you know exactly where things are, so you don't need to see them. Although that depends on how organized some is.

Baskets are a gamechanger! I swear I put everything in them...EVERYTHING!!! It's so easy to find what you're looking for, it's pleasing to the eye and it makes cleaning so quick.

Dear Lydia, I love and watch all of your videos. I just wanted to tell you, that ketchup, or any pickles, brine things that come in a jar, should always be stored in the fridge once open. If you find yourself confused about it, just read the label :)

i know you're really into your baskets but... drawers would be much better in those cupboards, especially for the lower shelves. There are companies in australia (so i would assume in the UK) that can retrofit drawers into your kitchen cupboards.
Are you also staining dark the stairs railing like ur doing the doors? It would look amazing.

It’s never kept in the fridge in restaurants or in the shops so the thought has never really crossed our mind, probably because it’s not around long enough to go off 🙊🐷

I just sat down at my desk at home to start work (8am in Australia) and I remembered you mentioning time blocking, so I thought, GREAT. I'LL DO THAT. and I opened youtube about to search a video on time blocking and saw this! Fingers crossed you talk about it, I'm only 1 minute in, haha. Love you and your videos so much! xx

just a question... but how will you remember the due dates of the food you are putting in the jars? ?????
clotjlde xo it’s all dry food, it really doesn’t matter.
Sky Walker that’s an air tight storage issue not a date issue. Things like chia and flour have a BEST before date, not a USE by, which literally means they’re at their best before the date, but not harmful after the date just not as enjoyable/high quality.
I organize my pantry the same way and I cut out the date on the packaging and either place it inside or stick it on the jar... or just write the date.
I really love your pantries! I need to do mine in a similar way. I think I will use clear acrylic baskets though, so that I can see into them without pulling them out.
l get a little bit of thinking that you live too disciplined. I am afraid that at some point the pressure on yourself will be too great and unfortunately it will drive you to burn out one day. Please be careful Lydia. You are so sincere, that's why I'm a bit worried, and because I'm older, my experience shapes me. Best wishes for you.
Jolanta Bezjak totally agree. I have a friend that’s similar and she’s 50 next year and she’s constantly exhausted from pressure of habit. Causes stress and then stress causes illnesses. It’s great to be organised as I’m one of those too but there’s a limit to everything especially as you get older.

Couldn't agree more! By nature, I am quite disciplined and organised, but over time, I've had to just allow myself to relax and let things go otherwise I'd have a mental breakdown. It used to affect my sleep too - so making peace with that side of myself has made life in my 30s so much easier!
@@annajames1065 how did you learn to let things go? I'm as organized as Lydia, if not more (probably). I do feel that sometimes I should just let things go, but feel guilty if I do... tips?
If you do a little Google you’ll find refillable coffee pods! It takes a few moments to scoop your coffee into the pod - but it means you aren’t dumping non recyclable material in the trash and wrecking the planet every time you want a caffeine fix :) ❤️ they really changed the way I enjoy Nespresso and took away my morning guilt - they’ve also allowed me to explore some of the great roasteries out there and bring boutique coffee to my Nespresso. I ordered a whole heap of the refillable metal pods and just fill a week’s worth and keep them in a glass jar. X

I like to write the expiration dates on my jars too 🙃 ( I learnt that that hard way when I did my first proper spring clean and realised Id thrown away all the Packets and didn't know when things were going to expire)

Can you please. Leave the link for upur glass jars from Amazon. I was really impress with those. Im also doing some reorganization and decluttering. It takes me much longer. Since im not able to do too much at one time because of my Lupus. Lots and lots of pain.
I do think baskets is good for pantry organisation however i do thinl that if they were a little shorter in height.. by a third or half you could see into them more if you wanted to know what was i side .. incase you fancy changing again lol x
