I’ve been taking French this semester at college and I’m struggling so hard, the semester is almost done and the speaking, reading, writing and listening exams are coming up and I will fail. So I wanna try this to maybe help improve it a little.
@@CulinarySpaceMediaI passed!! Final grade was a B-. I much needed the motivation and somewhat structure, kinda switched it up a bit from the video though.
Hi, French native speaker and polyglot here! Congrats for your challenge :) It would have been nice to try having a conversation with a French person, though. Language is about communicating after all!
Hey Nick! Please can you do a video on how you learnt to speak English fluently. Also I found it fascinating how when you were learning French, you were finding the translation of the sentences to English as oppose to Russian.
Great video Nick! I was looking for some inspiration to finally pick up a Romance language and it was great seeing your progress! (As a native Spanish speaker, I was curious about the result of the exam with 0 preparation, and I also got an A2 with 14/32 correct answers) and wow! It is amazing how much I could understand but definitely can't speak yet haha
Thank you for sharing your experience. I believe the closer the languages are, the better the understanding. However, that understanding does not necessarily correlate to whether or not we speak in the target language. This is a great insight for me.
I can speak : Kirundi 🇧🇮 perfect speaking Dutch 🇳🇱 perfect speaking and reading German 🇩🇪 perfect reading, speaking and writing Luxemburgish 🇱🇺 perfect reading, speaking and writing English 🇬🇧 perfect reading and speaking French 🇫🇷 very good speakind and reading I want to learn: Kiswahili 🇹🇿 good understanding Arabic 🇸🇦 some understanding Hebrew 🇮🇱 no understanding
With Arabic it’s better to learn formal Arabic(I’m not sure if that’s what it’s called in English)but like what Saudi’s Arabia speaks is a dialect not the language so be careful and if you want to learn a dialect I would advice you to choose based off of what country you might visit or which dialect sounds prettiest to you ig some people say to learn the Egyptian dialect because it has the largest Arab speaking population and I disagree but that’s probably because I’m Moroccan so I might be a bit bided towards my own dialect(Moroccan tho is far off from literally every other Arabic dialect so be careful$ and think that many other dialects are more useful depending on what you want
Really great and helpful video👍👍. Would you mind to put the link here where you made the level test? Thanks in advance 🙏 I just realized that this video is now three years old, never the less - really great 😊
@@NickCheld yea it is, im from norway, and im half german and a little bit swedish, i speak danish, dutch, swedish, danish, norwegian, german and english, but i still like the norwegain langvauge the most
I am a Greek and he is talking the truth I bet you loved the idea at first with the beautiful islands etc but it's not a good country if you don't have that guaranteed money otherwise it's a great place
Yeah it’s actually kinda complicated but I came here when I was younger to go to school and study here so then later I could live anywhere I wanted. Because it’s VERY difficult to leave Russia, especially when you’re older 😂 So I’ve lived here for about 2/3 of my life
I consider that an AI as chat gpt would have helped you better so you could find an schedule or best tools for your challenge and the best and correct answers
Au revoir Thanks for posting this. S’il te plaît, can you post links to the methods you’ve tried, incl where you took the test? I’ve been studying French on Duolingo for 70 long days. It’s helpful, but I agree it’s so impractical unless tu as cinq ans. Merci, bc
I'm not an expert on learning languages but what I would recommend is trying different methods you find online, like I did in this video and then find out what works best for you. You can combine methods too, be creative and good luck!
this video is so well made! and your progress in a week is amazing))
