It is exciting to see in the comments gratitude from the Ukrainians to the American people for their help. Just think about it, Ukrainians watch a video of an American's reaction to the speech of their president and thank him for it! This shows that Ukrainians are really united, and fight for one cause, and are ready to give thanks.
For some time now, I have been monitoring how something that explodes our information space then falls to the west and explodes the information space there. Like Dr. Livesey's fonk walk. And yes, this is not only one of the best New Year's speeches of the year, but even decades. This speech and its construction should be studied by political technologists all over the world. How not to say a single superfluous word, not to divide the population into their voters and "the rest", how to inspire people more than the Pope and any of the world leaders.

А також він сказав, що може мати тільки свою думку (тому що він знаходиться у себе вдома в Америці, війна не у нього під вікнами), що він сподівається на те що війна закінчиться якнайшвидше, що це одна з найпотужніших промов у всьому світі і що він би пишався, якщо така людина була б Президентом його країни. Що для вас тут здалося неправильним?
It's a curious thing: for many years, top Russian officers (including you-know-who) have supported the cult of masculinity in its worst. I mean, "manly" things like martial arts? Always. Behaving like king bees? Totally. "There are only two opinions: mine and wrong"? Psshh. However, Zelensky showed himself to be more of a man (moreover, of a HUMAN) despite being calm and respectful - and being good at "girly" things like dancing... One thing for sure: a comedian who became a president is much better than a president who became a joke

I was born in Kyiv. I have lived in Kyiv my whole life. I did not run away from the beginning of the war, and lived under siege until the invaders fled. And this video... I remember almost every single word: "Лідер фракції тут, голова Офісу Президента тут, прем'єр-міністр Шмигаль тут, Подоляк тут, Президент тут. Всі ми тут"... It was like a breath of air in a great night terror that I could not believe...

I’m a Ukrainian American living in the Czech Republic. This broke and also inspired my heart. My 2023 dream is to go home…on the border between Russia and Ukraine. My family fled Donbas believing that the fascists would never leave, but I really hope they’re wrong. It will happen. We will win.
You will win. There is no question. Ukraine fights hard, it fights intelligently and it will not ever quit. Now the West knows Ukraine can win and therefore Ukraine will have all the West’s industrial power behind it.
Russia cannot beat that combination. It’s just a matter of time and you will be able to return home.

Thank you for your reaction, I am glad I had a reason to watch this great speech again :) Just to say that the speech definitely must have been written- it would be difficult to keep its structure if he just spoke out of his head. Volodymyr Zelenskiy is an actor and in one of his old videos he said he had a very good logical memory and found it easy to learn long texts by heart. But he would not be able to speak with such conviction, if he did not speak from with his nature, from his heart. I watched most of his speeches and he is very coherent and authentic. It is not just his acting skills. And he was such a good and popular actor because people just naturally trusted him, because he does not just play a role but he is in line with his nature, his heart, his mind. And that makes him such a strong leader who was in the right place at the right time for Ukraine and whole world. That what the real Leo Heart looks like. Slava Ukrajine 🇺🇦 ❤🇺🇦.

I went to study renewable energy but the alternative would have been to do the officer-education in the Dutch military. I know for a fact that if I would have joined the Dutch army in 2017, I would have resigned in 2022 and would have been there in Ukraine to fight. All I do now is donate to United24, but it feels like it's not enough.

My friends in the USA - we are only 1200 km away from Kiev here in Germany- does not feel so far. Driving a Mercedes and skiing in Switzerland - we had a normal live. Just taking care of my mom with cancer who is 84 and was a refugee in the second worldwide herself and we just today took in a daughter and her 71 year old mother from Ukraine in our house who lost all. I take care of my mom and it is all we can do but pay your bills, but let us win this together for the good people of the world. You have been with us then, please be with us now. Thank you ❤

Грустно, что среди нас все ещё есть очень много нехороших людей, глупых, раскольников, воров, подлецов, трусов. Когда таких встречаешь, узнаешь о них, слушаешь, могут опуститься руки и сломаться вера в человечность, правду и справедливость в нашем обществе. Это больно. Но надо верить в хороших людей, равняться на них, поддерживать их. А плохие люди, глупые, ленивые, трусы - они всегда будут, они везде есть. Просто - "защищать страну от врагов внешних и внутренних" - каждый, кто и как может.
Вы, видимо, не знаете английского, или не прослушали до конца!!

Так, він зумів підібрати чудових спітчрайтерів, не гірших за спітчрайтерів Вашингтона і Черчілля. Вміння зформувати потужну команду з талановитих людей - це менеджерський талант, а президент - це головний менеджер країни.
@@V.Zakomirnyi Я думаю, що він сам написав цю промову. По-перше, коли сам щось пишеш - легше запам'ятовуєш, а як ми бачимо - він не читав. По-друге, ще з часів "Кварталу" пан Зеленський сам писав сценарії, жарти, ідеї і тому подібне...
Тому навіть якщо він не сам писав це звернення, він брав у написанні активну участь, в цьому я впевнений.

А президент Зеленський - менеджер країни, яка веде екзестенційну війну, Верховний головнокомандувач ЗСУ. І прекрасний, слід підкреслити, менеджер! Президент, якого, як сказав Олександр Поворознюк, "не було й не буде"!
У нього банально немає часу, аби писати, навіть якби з якогось дива він того дуже захотів 😊.
Ефективність менеджера вимірюється його лідерськими якостями, вмінням створювати команду, формулювати місію, розробляти стратегію, визначати цілі, ставити задачі і щоденно керувати процесами, необхідними задля їхнього виконання.
Авжеж він розробляє або, принаймні, погоджує план своїх промов, найбільш важливі вичитує і редагує. Він доводить до колективу спітчрайтерів свої вимоги, стиль, глосарій, т. ін. Щодо англомовних текстів, то у їхньому написанні обов'язково беруть участь кваліфіковані мовознавці, бо там білінгва не годиться, там треба знати тонкощі і мови, і традицій, і історії. Це, знаєте, тільки поганий голова колгоспу у старому совєтському фільмі сам приймав отелення у корови😊.
Володимир Олександрович, як відомо з його чисельних інтерв'ю, формулює думки українською мовою, якою він раніше не послуговувався, вкрай невиразно - не оратор він. Зате він чудово промовляє гарно написані тексти, а там не всі такі досконалі, доречі. Інколи трапляються такі кострубаті, що їх важко читати. Там працює ціла група спітчрайтерів, і не всі вони пишуть однаково добре.
You have every right to check this out, the english subtitles are there for a reason. And thank you so much for doing so, for helping to spread the message which is aimed at the ukrainian people, yet also important for the whole world to understand - don't doubt us, we are strong and we will win. For Mr. Zelensky it's "a speech", to the world it's "the speech".
I don't think he memorized it but I think he said more than they put in the video, cut it to fit and all that.
It's a great speech and video that will go down in history.

There's one really good part in this speech which was unfortunately lost in translation, and I'd like to point it out:
"strength" and "force" is the same word in Ukrainian, so when he says about trusting in own strength - is basically sounds as "We believed in our strength. The Armed Strength of Ukraine".
Speechwriters did a crazy good job with the speech
I would love to know who the speech writers are. Awesome.
