Peugoet wanted to bring the 306 for they WRC entry in 1999. But Peugoet Sport wanted the 206, but it was to short for FIA WRC length regulations. So they just made huge front and back bumpers to get the length they needed. And as we now, IT WAS THE RIGHT DESICISION TO USE THE 206 INSTEAD OF THE LONGER 306!!! Peugoet Sport was so genius, one of my favourite WRC cars ever. Great tribute, great video and great sound, usual BOZZY quality :D
This car was the World Champion WRC car 3 times following in 2000 & 2001 & 2002!!! This is one of the greatest Rally car ever and again a French Rally car in the TOP of History of the WRC ^_^

its normal in a 206 shooting like that. i have a 206 1.6 16v stock, i just removed cathalitic converter, central muffler and put a flowmaster 40series in the back, and also i installed a k&n conic intake filter, and its just enough to hear and see those backfires !! its crazy !!
lupus caelum anti-lag & turbo has nothing to do with popping. even old cars pop. the popping is the result of fuel after burn. The gases in your exhaust are still flammable before it go's into a catalytic converter. with the correct timing, you can get the popping and gurgeling. Tough popping indicates a bad timing in the engine. Race/rally cars dont have catalytic converters. Turbo anti-lag is just as it says, the negate the lag the turbo has. You could say that a race car's engine never stops burning fuel and because of that you have fuel over flow, the ignition flames exit the cylinder chamber to ignite the over flow. resulting in you hearing the pop that actually only should be in the cylinder chamber. As f your cylinder chamber is never closed. For a race car its fine, for a street car it isnt. Race cars aren't there to last and usually only last a day or 2(with out maintenance). Now i dont care if the comment is months old, im just putting it out there.

I own a 206 GTI 180 (same engine as WRC model, mostly detuned and unmodified though), even without a turbo, with the stock exhaust, it pops and bangs
