    I bought one of these. I use it on a 41hp tractor, and it runs it no problem. It does the best on pine trees and other soft woods. On hard woods it chatters a bit and you obviously have to watch that and slow down, other then that, for the price to own a stump grinder it's a great thing to have. I couldn't believe the price of stump grinders in general when i looked for one, this a great option if you already have a tractor.

    Wow! A company that actually shows uncut videos of their product being used! Think I may buy one!

    Dang. I need to show my boss this. I cut down so many trees that grow under fences. This would sure help a ton getting the trees to not grow back.

    In the manual it states you should grind right to left looking from the rear of the grinder. This is left to right. Which is correct?

      Hi Fred, Grinding from the right to the left as shown in the manual will yield a smoother operation.

    Will this thing work on one of those old red and gray Ford Red Belly tractors? Or one of the old blue and white Ford tractors from probably the 60s or 70s? I know thats not a lot of info. Thinking of buying one of my buddys tractors he has for sale and getting this stump grinder. Its the most bang for the buck that I have found so far if they will work together. Also, does it hurt them to run them through the dirt? I know you dont wanna run a chainsaw in the dirt or it will ruin the blade. How do the teeth wear when running them through the dirt on either side of the stump? Thanks for any info!

    Would a john deere 3025e run this?

    • @woodlandmills
      @woodlandmills  5 лет назад

      Hi Jeff, we recommend 20-45 HP at the PTO. Slightly less could still work. It's best to confirm your HP at the PTO and give us a call. 1-855-476-6455

    I need one of these in my life. my 3038e has 30pto hp so should run easy then?

    • @woodlandmills
      @woodlandmills  8 лет назад +1

      Yes, that will be plenty of horsepower for the stump grinder to work well.

    Hi I was wondering if that stump grinder has a 540 PTO shaft size?

    • @woodlandmills
      @woodlandmills  6 лет назад +2

      The stump grinder is designed to work off of a tractor PTO that rotates at 540RPM.
      The shaft on the stump grinder is a standard 6 spline.

    So what model would be best for 90 PTO hp like kubota M5-111-1? Also is it 540 or 1000 rpm?

    • @woodlandmills
      @woodlandmills  5 лет назад

      The WG24 stump grinder is to be operated at 540RPM and is rated for tractors with up to 45HP, therefore unfortunately, your Kubota M5 would be outside of this range and not recommended.

    Can you run this on a shuttle shift without destroying your clutch?

    • @woodlandmills
      @woodlandmills  6 лет назад

      Hi Brady, Hydrostatic transmissions are ideal, but many customers have used the stump grinder with manual transmissions. Just check to see if your tractor utilizes a two-stage clutch. This means that when the clutch is depressed halfway, it will disengage the transmission and allow the operator to control or vary the travel speed, but still allow the PTO to operate independently of the transmission and at full operating speed of 540 RPM during the grinder usage.

    2 questions related to my subcompact 19 PTO HP (25 HP engine) Massey GC1720:
    1) will the Subcompact power this well enough?
    2) What is typical service life of the cutting blade?

    • @woodlandmills
      @woodlandmills  7 лет назад +2

      Hi Larry, 1) The WG24 will work fine for a tractor with 19HP @ the PTO. Depending on what you are grinding will determine how much of a cut you can take in one pass. You can visit our website for more information or call us with any other questions.
      2) With the teeth it will depend on what type of ground you are grinding into. With sandy ground your teeth will last quite awhile and if you are cutting through rocky ground the teeth will wear out faster. There are too many variables to provide a life span on the teeth such as Ground conditions, weather condition (summer vs winter) and hardwood vs softwood
