Oh my gods! I am in love with fairy houses! 🧚♀️ It takes me back about 10 years ago when my granddaughter and I made a fairy garden in a big planter I had outside. ❤️ I have a feeling I am going to end up with A LOT of fairy houses! Thank you for the inspiration!
I so enjoyed the ride tonight, as I watched your video; my first time on your channel. I’m new to pottery, and clays in general…. When you mentioned not being perfect and organic, I knew I like the way you think; perfection is overrated.. I hope your knees are on their way to healing….
Thank you for sharing good luck with your knee waiting myself for an appointmet to get my knee done. I just watched a videos from a potter from Bonair NU kua ceramics i think, she loves your videos too,
They are so stinkin’ adorable! OMG!! It’s amazing how fast 45 minutes goes when you’re having fun!! Thank you for the great demos! Best of luck on your surgery!
Love it, you are great teacher. Yes I will make a few for Christmas presents, you are an inspiration. I will send positive thoughts for your surgery to go well. Thanks so much.
We are new potters and I'm learning sooo much fm you! I love your style of teaching, you are very real, very comfortable to watch! I've made three fairy houses to date, they are so cool,,waiting to be fired. 🎉❤😊
I agree that you can add or subtract whatever you like more or less. I did love this video. this was just so easy to expand on this video and not take it away from you. I have so many ideas from this very " simple" video. And thank you for making this video, My mind is thinking 2023 as I am too late for this year. I live in Australia and we do not as yet put much into Halloween or Guy Fawkes but I can think of other uses for this tree house. but again thank you for making this video
That was such fun to watch and learn. You are so very creative. The time just flew by. Love all your beautiful work behind you. I am excited to watch more of your videos.
I always get so much from your tutorials and just loved the little tree house! Good luck sweetheart with your knees .....wishing you a speedy recovery :)
I love watching your videos, have made some ghosts that are in the kiln right now! Love making gnomes. Gonna try a fairy house next! Thanks for the inspiration!
Hi Tiffinie! These are so adorable!! I might have to make some for our Caribbean fairies, with a sunroof maybe? 😆😃I totally understand making these (and the gnomes) can take you on a trip in your mind..... better not peek into my mind either.... 😅🤣😂 I will be sending you good vibes on the 12th! I am sure you will be up and about sooner than you think, good luck! Monique
Best wishes & speedy recovery on you’re up coming surgeries! I just love the fairy houses, so cute! I love watching your tutorials, and the learning process, you have so many fun projects. Thank you for sharing your skills and techniques with us! I made some of your witches and ghosts to display at one of our activity centers, they’re in the kiln firing as I write this! ❤❤❤
I love watching you make things, it gives me the urge to make them also. Certainly will make a fairy house or 2. I am also going to give your chip 'n' dip platter a go also.
Hi, loved watching this video. I didn't know you could get wood texture mats. What a great idea. I'm only a hobby potter, so I watch videos to learn different techniques. I think I'm going to have a go at making one of these 🙂
Never been into fairy houses TILL I started watching you and became a subscriber. I also have Michael Harbridge sphere's. When I watched that video I was hooked🤦🏾♀️. I just ordered my silicone molds. 💙 Are you going to Claycon in January? I'll be there.
Your molds were delivered in Utah today. Hope they made it there safely. On your fairy houses, are you using stoneware ? Also on using Mayco stroke n coat are you putting it on greenware or bisque? If you're putting the Stroke n Coat on bisque are you clear glazing on top of it and does the stroke n coat smear when clear glazing. One last question how many weeks are you letting them dry. Sorry for all the questions? Making these at the last minute. Thank you, Sandi😊
Yes! Just unpacked them! Thank you sooo much. I can't wait to play with them. I treat stroke and coat life underglazes. When I glaze I fairy house, they are a mix of stroke and coat and underglazes. I use a zinc free clear that I mix up and I've never had issues glazing over stroke and coat. I do the glazing on bisque ware as they are so fragile. I let them dry for a few weeks, checking on them. In winter, I don't worry about slowing the drying, but here in Utah, the summers are dry and hot. Hardly any humidity. If I missed a question let me know and thank you so much for the molds. ❤️
@hobblecreekpottery2921 Was the clay stoneware? Thanks for all the help!!! I will send you another small mold. In mid-September. What's a fairy box without a mailbox! Your friend will have to buy the new version of your fairy houses for Christmas presents when you start accessorizing them. Thank you again! Sandi
@@SP-zb2fx Ahh, thank you! This is so fun. I get to learn slip casting. Woohoo! I just love pottery. I've already got her order for this year and plan to surprise her with the birdies and butterflies. 😀
@hobblecreekpottery2921 Was the clay stoneware on the fairy houses. Make the slip thin. You want to cast those birds and butterflies solid. I have slipped cast I hate to say this over 20 years
That would be a 4 hour video, lol. It takes me hours to carefully brush glaze on these pieces. Do I haven't made a video yet. It's just a dlow, careful process. I wish I could figure out how to speed it up.
@@hobblecreekpottery Heh. Looking to see about what happens when one paints one layer and covers it with another "color". Bleeding? Mixing? I guess I will find out!🤗
Hello hello, i looove so much this cute fairy house, thank you so much for this video, also i learned how to make a ladybug since my first one a friend of mine said it looks like a Schnauzer hahahahah can't wait to make my fairy house
Made my first fairy house - this is so fun. Question, do you cover your houses to dry slowly? Also if I use a little cooking spray in silicone molds can I still reclaim leftover clay that might have residual oil on it? Thank you so much! I love your videos. I live in Utah too. 😊
I'm sorry, I don't know the name of it or even where I got it. I've had it forever. I did get it from a pottery shop, so it is a pottery tool. I wish I could be of more help.
@@theresepye4298 Yes, but you might need an armature like a bottle or something. I've seen some youtube channels that make fairy houses using air dry clay over plastic bottles. You wouldn't be able to put them outside though. Good luck making one!

What kind of clay is that and how long does it stay wet and pliable? I know nothing about this kind of art except I love it lol.
It's bmix stoneware from Aardvark and does need to be fired in a kiln. It stays pliable depending on the weather. Dries out pretty fast right now.

Yes, the cooking spray won't hurt anything. I do cover them, especially since everything drys out so fast here as you know. 😀
Can I ask how much you sell these adorable houses?
@vickiekrause5331 Depends on the house but the smaller ones are $35 to $65.
What kind of clay do you use and does it have to be fired in a kiln?
Yes, I use stoneware clay that is fired up to 2167 degrees Fahrenheit.
Do you fire or bake the pottery, I love clay ,
I fire in a kiln.
hahaha! My Chocolate Stash is much bigger than a Fairy House! 😉
