Great track, Yoko Shimomura is one of the best composers we have right now in videogame, all her works are amazing. Talking about Final Fantasy, nobody talks about Final Fantasy Type-0 OST which is one of the best and most epic. Just listen to the very first 2 tracks, Tempus Bellum and The Beginning of the End, I would like to hear what you have to say about it.
The Final Fantasy franchise is filled with great music. If you’re going to continue with the reactions, then I would highly recommend these tracks from Final Fantasy X “To Zanarkand”, “Fleeting Dream”, “Assault”, “Via Purifico”, “Fight with Seymour”, “Contest of Aeons”, “Final Battle”, “Ending Theme”, “Otherworld”, “Suteki da ne (Orchestrated)”. I know it seems like a lot, but these are some of the absolute standouts among the soundtrack. It may take a few videos to fully react and experience them.
@@AtlasBenighted I'd add clash on the big bridge (ffxii, xiv and xv) I'd also say react to all the music in final fantasy 14 after the other FF because the songs like to make call backs to older songs and mixes them with new stuff.
You've gotta react to the Nier and Nier Automata soundtracks! Keichii Okabe is woefully overlooked. And the soundtrack for Nier Automata won the 2017 game awards award for best OST I recommend "A Beautiful Song - Nier Automata" "Bipolar Nightmare - Nier Automata" "Grandma - Nier" "Grandma (destruction) - Nier Automata" and "Song of the Ancients" from both. You wont regret it!
@@AtlasBenighted yeah, it was. This is my favorite video game theme and the night I heard it in game is imprinted in my mind, seeing someone else getting blown away by this piece was amazing to watch.
its interesting how u bring up how some parts sound almost programed and others sound like they were preformed, as i believe the vibe they (square enix, the developers) were going with XV's setting was a semi-more-futuristic version of our world. u have lands that remind u of deserts and such, kinda like arizona, and then u have kingdoms out of a futuristic fantasy. kinda cool this was pointed out
well, it is an actual boss music, and it does have a section where it loops, it is seamless, meaning that it has an intro, a looping section, and an ending. Music now in games are programmed to seamlessly transition when battle ends or start, etc.
For me. Apocalyptis nocris is my favorite video game moment ever. I'd collected everything this this moment went hard for me. Along with ifrit and bahamut moment.
I went to a Distant Worlds concert a few years ago, and I heard a number of my favorites from the franchise there. Apocalypsis Noctis was one I enjoyed without playing one bit of Final Fantasy XV. There’s one piece from the Final Fantasy series I’d like to get your take on: “Heavensward” from Final Fantasy XIV. This was one I absolutely fell in love with when I heard it live at Distant Worlds, and again, I’ve not played one bit of Final Fantasy XIV. This is the title track that accompanies the trailer for the first expansion for this MMORPG.
Spoiler Alert: Usage of Apocalypsis Noctis inside the game This track is used as a battle theme for one specific battle, namely where your objective is to kill the god Titan. A similar, yet different version called "Apocalypsis Aquarius" is played at the battle with Leviathan (Goddess of the Sea). For the latter: as the track starts to play you enter kind of a god-mode yourself where you are flying and unlimited combos are possible. The intro sequence of both these tracks plays once and after that the rest of these two songs loop with the end sequence cut off. Funfact: The chants in Apocalypsis Noctis are in Latin and, as far as I know, all chants in Final Fantasy OSTs are.
Nope, not all of them, FFX are scrambled japanese syllabes (they did something like read the left to right, or top to bottom or some shit) . I know theres a pattern and when you put them back together and it turna into actual japanese. FFXI also uses esperanto, a language invented in the 19th century.
Wonderful video dude! Another great track is Possessed By a Disease from Nier Automata (and if you listen, YES the singer is actually doing it herself! I thought it was manipulated!!)
can you react to ifrit's battle theme in final fantasy xv please? there are four parts total. i promise you, you will not be disappointed when hearing this music.
@@AtlasBenighted i would recommend more but i just really want to see your reaction to final fantasy xv ifrit's full battle theme because i read many comments about how well praised it is.
That's a percussive hit just processed through effects to make it sound like that. In a live setting that would be very hard to achieve unless of course you are running in through the same FX chain you used in the mix, or you are playing it in a room that has tons of reverb!
This is personally my favorite song from the franchise. I've heards many from FF series but nothing even remotely similar to this. Also it seems most of the supposed "best" songs by fans are biased due to nostalgia. I haven't played the games so just from music standpoint this is the best song I have heard from the series followed by hollow from ff7 remake ending.
"The title is like a black metal song" oh my that suits Noctis ✨ "Sounds super epic" -- that I can agree, yes! Its my favorite piece in FFXV soundtrack. Still gave me goosebumps. Thanks for making this video. Good reaction.
More constructive comment rather than request here. I think the European aesthetic is spot on. The Tribal drums I thought could be akin maybe to medieval knights and soldiers perhaps that had war drums which is kinda still European. The piece is truly wonderful though. With regards to the looping since it is a game and this is boss music. I think the looping is so mild that you kinda don't notice it. I think if you watch someone playing the leviathan boss fight you get so into the fight and the intensity of the music that you don't pick up the loop that easily. It's like the song is just going and going and every now and then you hear something different or spectacular and you just get more eager and the moment just intensifies. Well done
FF 15 will always be scarred in my life....I was listening to the song Hydraean´s Wrath ..when I received a phone call from my brother informing my father just passed away with only 59 years of age from a liver cancer
