A great FLICK CONNECTION Darren. 3 that I’ve watched several times; ‘71, Harry Brown and Starred Up; all excellent. Appreciate you sharing with us. Many thanks 👍👍👍
Watched your #1 Good Time. Uh, I don't agree but it gave me a happy childhood memory of Adventure Land in Farmingdale. My grandmother lived in Farmingdale and we would go to see her and AdventureLand.😊
What's really great about Lars and The Real Girl is that it doesn't go in any expected directions. The way his friends respond to Lars and his girlfriend is very touching.
Lot of new ones for me here ! And those I did see I definitely want to see again... I don't mind me some Tubi when Darren points out the gems. Thanks !
Thanks for another intriguing list! My taste usually aligns with yours pretty well so I now have several more movies to catch up on. I opted to watch Into The Abyss last night and it was so compelling! Thanks again!
Brilliant, thanks a lot for the recs! A lot that I don’t know yet, and the ones that I do know are all excellent picks, so looking forward to checking the rest out.
Hey Darren, thank you for another list of things to watch on Tubi. I just started looking through Tubi this week, and there are definitely movies / shows worth watching. Something I heard you say didn't sound right, though, and that was when you went from Housebound from New Zealand, to Four Lions, which you said was "also from the UK". But New Zealand has not been part of the UK for quite a few years.
Love Let the Corpses Tan! I'm a big fan of Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani's work. Highly recommend The Strange Color of Your Body's Tears for anyone who likes super trippy giallo-style horror!
Awesome list, downloading half of these. I just watched The Way of the Gun after many years. A low audience rating, but still worthy. That and Animal Kingdom, Riders of Justice and Equilibrium (some silliness, but still), great sleeper hits. And if you like Starred Up, which is my favourite movie ever, you might want to check out A Prayer Before Dawn, based on a true story. The book is a also a good read.
Looks like I need to check out Tubi. I haven't crawled through your entire history of videos, but I'm a little surprised I haven't heard you mention the movie Shot Caller; it's a bit of a slow burn, but the end hits like a truck, imo. Thank you for all of the recommendations!!!
The Best Offer is the most rewarding slow-burn movie I have ever watched. Period. If you want to enjoy it to the fullest, do not read any storyline, do not watch a trailer, start watching.
ive only seen 2 of these films- Starred Up and Four Lions- both outstanding- Four Lions is one of the best comedies of the last 20 years imho. Tubi has some fantastic classic movies on it, sadly in Canada it is missing many of these.
I love dystopian / end of the world movies. So I will have to check out "The Final Hours." I recently watched "The Rover" based off your recommendation, and it was one of the best movies of this genre I ever saw. Never would've heard of it without your channel. Keep up the great work!
About "Four Lions". In Vaudeville, the straight man always gets top billing. Because without someone serious to play against, the funny guys just aren't as funny. Another example: "Muppet Christmas Carol", Michael Caine is great.
If you like prison movies, watch this French one called “ Un Prophet”. An Arab French kid gets dealt a rotten hand from the moment he entered prison and just evolves from there… you will love it.
I loved _The Belko Experiment;_ I saw the incredible _Lars and the Real Girl_ in cinema when it was released. It's so well written and Gosling is so good in it that I _was weeping_ during the funeral scene...!
I had the amazing honour of playing drums with a bassist mate of mine with Harry sievey, the son of Chris sievey, the man in the Frank sidebottom head,,it was a day of gigs in Manchester in support of frank sidebottoms charity...we opened the gig with Harry's band, mask Both harry and frank are sadly passed away 😢
I watched Harry Brown a while back. Michael Caine did a phenomenal job. I was pleasantly surprised by how good this movie was. Thanks again for your great recommendations!!
Possessor was slow at first…but dang…it just…whoa 😳. Completely unexpected. Loved it. Standoff at sparrow creek I saw a few years ago. ❤’d it. Excellent list, as always.
What a fantastic movie, I remember as a little boy when The Troubles in that era happened, and being so confused and just couldn't understand why the Irish and the British would want to fight each other, and I remember Bobby Sands, I was about 15 when he was in the news. Now I'm 59 and have read and watched a lot about The Troubles over the years, and I still don't understand why the Irish and the British would want to kill each other, like that whole thing with The Miami Show Bamd, thing's are way out of control and has gone light years beyond making any sense of why someone would want to blow up a bunch of musicians who don't have anything to do with any of it. I'm just glad it's at least stopped, if everyone can manage to make it through an entire generation without killing each other then hopefully it'll all be over. I just know the whole thing always made me feel sad, even when I was a little boy.
I always thought Shattered Glass was a really great movie. It is one of the main reasons I've always defended Hayden, and am absolutely convinced that he could have easily brought more to the role of Anakin if he'd been given better writing. Considering what he had to work with, I think he did more than we could have asked of about anyone.
Saw harry brown. Had no idea what it was about. It was good. My older brother had me watch Lars and the doll when I was over to his house. It was wonderful how the town came together.
With the kind of British movies you've recommended, I wonder if you've seen either London To Brighton, or Kill List? Both utterly brutal, but superb movies.
These Final Hours is AMAZING. Such a bold film, truly remarkably well done, top notch acting, writing, direction. It's exciting, heavy, brave. I absolutely cannot recommend it enough. Ive never seen anything like it beore. Go watch it, you wont regret it.
ty, ok just watched housebound.... starts with a little laugh... a little slow then kind of like seen this done before then gets cool. love the last scene.
Room 237 is a joke. The only thing it changed about how I view movies is reminding me not to waste my time after a documentary shows me how empty it is.
Hey Darren love the channel. It often saves me trawling Netflix, Prime, et al looking for something to watch 👍 I also love the Tarantino t-shirt you were rockin' in this episode. I have two questions. 1. Do you/would you ship to the UK? 2. I'm a big unit and was hoping a 2XL measures 25" across the chest?
If anyone needs a little push to watch either “started up”, “housebound” or “belko experiment” . Do it,youll feel like you’ve watched a good movie by the end of any of them .
I know two of them: The Belko Experiment and Transiberian. I have about 1500 DVD’s though. TransSiberian is one I have enjoyed several times. Thanks for the info on the others!
DVD, always love your picks! Ive recently started showing my wife, who is 10 yrs younger, movies from my childhood I know she hasnt seen. We just watched people Under The Stairs! An all time fav of mine! Yes she def liked it. I forgot how much I enjoy that movie too!
@DarrenVanDam I hope to put something on your radar from 2008. Only OG Netflixers would know. Probably their first original. Felon. Val Kilmer, Stephen Dorff. If you've seen it, I think it deserves a list spot somewhere. If not... please give it a go. I hope I'm not the only person in your comments that has seen this movie. Again, this is list was such a banger, thanks for all these movies I need to watch I never knew.
Damn you man, you've given me to many movies too watch. I think I'm gonna take some vacation time to binge watch. That reminds me, I need to buy more beer and wings.
Check out, if you can find them , the two previous films by the director of Let the Corpses Tan, Amer & The Strange Color of Your Body's Tears. Both very weird and highly visual!

Shattered glass doesn’t show up on Tubi for me in the U.S. only freevee
Watched your #1 Good Time. Uh, I don't agree but it gave me a happy childhood memory of Adventure Land in Farmingdale. My grandmother lived in Farmingdale and we would go to see her and AdventureLand.😊
Check out You Were Never Really Here… and pay attention!
I always liked Emily Mortimer. Some films on here I haven't seen with her in it.
What's really great about Lars and The Real Girl is that it doesn't go in any expected directions. The way his friends respond to Lars and his girlfriend is very touching.
Lot of new ones for me here !
And those I did see I definitely want to see again...

Housebound!!! Yearly watch.
Thanks, Darren👍✌️
Great list! These Final Hours, ‘71, Standoff at Sparrow Creek, and Four Lions are all really good.
Brilliant, thanks a lot for the recs! A lot that I don’t know yet, and the ones that I do know are all excellent picks, so looking forward to checking the rest out.
Upgrade is my current "surprisingly good movie" that most people haven't heard of.
Upgrade is top-notch. It doesn't make sense to not do part 2. I hope it's in the works.
This channel has brought so much joy to me and my wife. Thank you.
Glad you enjoy it!
Dang Darren...You Nailed it on this list...Good Job..
Great video finally have something to watch.
also could you do tv show/series recommendations as well? I'll appreciate it
Hey Darren, thank you for another list of things to watch on Tubi. I just started looking through Tubi this week, and there are definitely movies / shows worth watching. Just finished watching Shattered Glass. Live Christenson. It was a greaat choice. Thanks for your suggestion.
Love Let the Corpses Tan! I'm a big fan of Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani's work. Highly recommend The Strange Color of Your Body's Tears for anyone who likes super trippy giallo-style horror!
Thanks for the new word--giallo--and that means I must try "The Strange Color of Your Body's Tears."
Elina Löwensohn too! Loved her in Nadja.
Giallos are stylized Italian thrillers the best done by Dario Argento
Just watched These Final Hours and it was so good! Thanks for the recommendation. I’m so glad I found your channel.
Maybe i’m out of it..but - "Ford Vs Ferrari" ..wow ! (Matt Damon)
said it before, your reviews and suggestions are spot on. Great content and delivery!
Love the list, I need to watch a few soon! Thanks DVD!
Yes!!! Great recommendations as always!!! Thanks 🎉❤
You are so welcome!
17:04 she was brilliant in Hunt for the Wilderpeople, as too the rest of cast.
Dude this might be the BEST list you've ever put out. The fact they're all available on tubi, just gives it more power.
Yes this is a really good list. Also how the FUCK did I never think of D.V.D holy lol 😂
Everything on tubi Is crap
The belko experience was so fantastic of a movie it blew me away
The good sir, DVD! Really diggin the shirt!👌🤙
16:30 Deadmau5's older cousin!
LARS AND THE REAL GIRL is jaw dropping entertainment, sweet, weird, and hilarious!!!
Watched The Best Offer and thought it was very well done. Highly recommended.
I'd really love to see videos like that, but about TV Shows and Series.
Awesome list, downloading half of these. I just watched The Way of the Gun after many years. A low audience rating, but still worthy. Those factor meals, delicious hahaha! Awesome List!

Shattered Glass is phenomenal. These Final Hours was really good, too (I would have put Shattered Glass above it, though).
The Best Offer is the most rewarding slow-burn movie I have ever watched. Period. If you want to enjoy it to the fullest, do not read any storyline, do not watch a trailer, start watching.
Man Good Time was such a wild flick. Probably my favorite Safdie from. Thanks for the recommendation on Starred Up, that sounds right up my alley
I don't know why you were recommended, but honestly I'm super glad. I've never heard of any of these movies.
ive only seen 2 of these films- Starred Up and Four Lions- both outstanding- Four Lions is one of the best comedies of the last 20 years imho. Tubi has some fantastic classic movies on it, sadly in Canada it is missing many of these.
LOVED THE BELKO EXPERIENCE!!!
A few days ago a friend in Spain emailed to recommend Housebound . I'm a Kiwi and never heard of it . Funny af in a very Kiwi way
Sorry. I didn't realise I had tickets... ...to the guns show 💪💪
4 Lions will not let u rest from all the Laughing that u will incur 😂😂
I love dystopian / end of the world movies. So I will have to check out "The Final Hours." I recently watched "The Rover" based off your recommendation, and it was one of the best movies of this genre I ever saw. Never would've heard of it without your channel. Keep up the great work!

Just watched "cutters way" on Tubi I was a big fan, definitely worth checking out if you like neo noirs
If you like prison movies, watch this French one called “ Un Prophet”. An Arab French kid gets dealt a rotten hand from the moment he entered prison and just evolves from there… you will love it.
Great flick
I loved _The Belko Experiment;_ I saw the incredible _Lars and the Real Girl_ in cinema when it was released. It's so well written and Gosling is so good in it that I _was weeping_ during the funeral scene...!
Four Lions is phenomenally hilarious.

Both harry and frank are sadly passed away 😢
on RUclips FREE also
- Shattered Glass
- These Final Hours
- Frank
- Four Lions
- Lars and The Real Girl
Lars and the real girl is on my top 10 best movies ever.
Damn! This list is full of gold! A 24K film list! Hats off to you!
The Best Offer is brilliant, thanks for pointing it out.
You ever reviewed A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night?
I watched Harry Brown a while back. Michael Caine did a phenomenal job. I was pleasantly surprised by how good this movie was. Thanks again for your great recommendations!!
Possessor was slow at first…but dang…it just…whoa 😳. Completely unexpected. Loved it.
Standoff at sparrow creek I saw a few years ago. ❤’d it.
Excellent list, as always.
71 was filmed in my neighbourhoodin Liverpool, England. Some of it was filmed in my street!
What a fantastic movie, I remember as a little boy when The Troubles in that era happened, and being so confused and just couldn't understand why the Irish and the British would want to fight each other, and I remember Bobby Sands, I was about 15 when he was in the news.

I just know the whole thing always made me feel sad, even when I was a little boy.
Four Lions is possibly one of the best satire movies ever written. The sequel, "The Day Shall Come", is not nearly as good, but worth a watch too.
Lars and the Real Girl is an exceptional movie in its poignancy.
great list - thank you for sharing:)
I always thought Shattered Glass was a really great movie. With the kind of British movies you've recommended, I wonder if you've seen either London To Brighton, or Kill List? Both utterly brutal, but superb movies.
I've only heard of a few of these, thanks, man! But "Possesor," yikes!
Will need to see The Shadow of Violence. Would be good to see Cosmo Jarvis in more films. Think he could do a lot if he had the right roles.
Room 237 is a joke. The only thing it changed about how I view movies is reminding me not to waste my time after a documentary shows me how empty it is.
Hey Darren love the channel. It often saves me trawling Netflix, Prime, et al looking for something to watch 👍

Four Lions is a very funny black comedy!
If anyone needs a little push to watch either “started up”, “housebound” or “belko experiment” .
Do it,youll feel like you’ve watched a good movie by the end of any of them .
The Belko Experiment is amazing
I know two of them: The Belko Experiment and Transiberian. I have about 1500 DVD’s though. TransSiberian is one I have enjoyed several times. Thanks for the info on the others!
I’m definitely checking out Hunger and Harry Brown is a must see. I can’t recommend it enough
Lars and the Real Girl is the cutest movie in the world
Thank for the thriller recommendations.
DVD, always love your picks! Ive recently started showing my wife, who is 10 yrs younger, movies from my childhood I know she hasnt seen. We just watched people Under The Stairs! An all time fav of mine! Yes she def liked it. I forgot how much I enjoy that movie too!
What a great list! My only complaint is that I don't have enough hours to keep up with all your great recommendations. Keep 'em coming ! Thanks.
@DarrenVanDam
I hope to put something on your radar from 2008.
These Final Hours was so good. I watched it based on your recommendation a While ago.
'71 is a great movie. Being from the UK, and of Irish descent, this is a very well made and factually accurate.
Harry Brown is a masterpiece! Also like THESE FINAL HOURS and ‘71. Those are my picks ..that I have seen.
Good Time feels like the firecracker scene in Boogie Nights, for the entire run time.
That is one of the most interesting lists you’ve compiled - and on Tubi no less!
Intelligent, perceptive, articulate, concise. Keep up the good work.
When I first heard Robert Pattenson was going to be batman, I checked out Good Time. I was blown away by his acting ability.
Great list!
Based on your recommendation, I watched TransSiberian and Shattered Glass. Those were really good. Thanks again!
Good Time was actually amazing, must watch.
Bro, I love your shirt. I love Tarantino.
We watched “The Best Offer” on your recommendation.
It’s a great movie!
Harry Brown is a great movie.
Have you seen Dead End with Ray Wise? I don’t think a lot of people have
I saw Frank I guess 2 or 3 years ago and really felt it. Strong recommend.
Not even half way thru (just got to (transsiberian). I've already got 5 must watch, and 1 I've seen. Thanks D.V.D.🤙🤘
Darren really likes Brad Anderson and i completely agree!
Damn you man, you've given me to many movies too watch. I think I'm gonna take some vacation time to binge watch. That reminds me, I need to buy more beer and wings.
Four Lions and Housebound are so underated.
Brilliant list can’t wait to watch them on my 24h flight
Check out, if you can find them , the two previous films by the director of Let the Corpses Tan, Amer & The Strange Color of Your Body's Tears. Both very weird and highly visual!
Four Lions is fu€|
Started watching to find movies outside of super hero flicks. So far its a good choice. I've seen 1 movie out of 80 that I've actually seen.
Thx, man 🤘
These final hours is a fantastic movie. I never understood how it is not more known.
WHY DID YOU GIVE AWAY WHO PLAYS FRANK???? That's part of the joy of this movie. Placing the voice of, Frank. Dang
