during their world tour last year, ateez did like a mash up of Good lil boy + The leaders + To the beat... the crowd went absolutely crazy during that. And as if that wasn't enough to get the crowd crazy, during their amsterdam stop, when the beat for "to the beat" started playing, hongjoong sat down at the front of the stage facing the audience... and poured an entire water bottle over himself and proceeded to go crazy rapping with wet hair and all. needless to say the crowd went batshit crazy. then he laughed at us ahaha. yeah I was almost front row for this, ill never forget it.
And you're still alive to tell us this? 🤣🙃 I'd probably survive Hongjoong doing that in front of me, but if it was San or Yeosang they'd owe my husband and apology for removing me from existence. 😆🤣

The beginning whisper rap is my man Hongjoong. I know this because I had to be resurrected after the first time I heard it. Then I had to go watch a bunch of live performances to be sure because this had me thinking my whole life was a lie!!!

I hope he reacts to the mashup of to the beat, good lil boy and the leaders from the Seoul 2022 concert, I think that has the best live version of to the beat that ateez have ever performed

Also, fun fact, but this is an Atiny favorite because it's sorta a diss track and it's symbolic since Ateez have been plagiarized and copied so many times (once by a member of a group you've recently reacted to too😅) so hongjoongs rap is popular among us, especially whenever someone new plagiarizes Ateez 🫠 Also, what's cool about Ateez members is that a lot of them can do high and low tones. Seonghwas voice is already pretty deep but he can do it all. San and yunho are also really good at high and really low notes too. So all members sorta switch off.
Lastly, I don't think to the beat has a full live but they do have sorta a melody/mashup version of the leaders, good lil boy, and to the beat, but the mashup has a lot of to the beat so you'll really like it and you get to hear both raps. You should def react to good lil boy seperately first (hongjoong wrote and produced) before watching the mash up. And if you do, my favorite performance of the three is from Kcon 2022 Saudi Arabia the leaders + good lil boy+ to the beat mashup. Please watch! It's so good!!

What you said about it sounding that there are multiple people that wrote this track, and Ateez's music over all, is not wrong. The main producers for Ateez is Eden and his team (KQ production team). This track was composed by Eden, Buddy, LEEZ, Peperoni and Oliv. Then Hongjoong and Mingi wrote their own parts like they always do with every Ateez song. Maddox is also a big part when it omes to producing for Ateez.
If you want to check out songs that Hongjoong actually composed you can check out Aurora, Celebrate, Good lil Boy, Sunrise, Horizon and Rocky. They're all great songs. And Ateez also have their pre-debut song called From which all the members help write. Hongjoong also wrote the song Thank U for Seonghwa.
Don't want to be a pest but saw someone mention Win and I wanted to say the live performance is a must. They have a video for it on the Ateez official channel.
You HAVE to listen to The King and Win. I see ppl recommending it and i absolutely agree that these are bangers.

To the Beat is so hype, the concert trio mashup with The Leaders they did with it was so good.
That To the Beat + Thanxx performance I think is actually worth a full watch because it's one where Seonghwa full on does all of Mingi's rap parts live because he was still on hiatus and it's cool to see Seonghwa do something he doesn't normally get to do.
Love that about this one as well. As much as I didnt like that we didnt see Mingi. It was nice to see Seonghwa rap

Your reference of the Avengers to describe the possible creation of this song is great. KQ’s in house production team, Eden-ary, is very much like the Avengers with a core team of producers, songwriters and artists that works on both Ateez and Xikers albums. They also have producers that come in for a few songs or a couple albums who aren’t necessarily apart of the main Eden-ary team.

great reaction as always!! I would recommend 'win' by ateez I don't understand why not many people are recommending that oh well. You might also like paradigm - ateez, it's a Japanese single there's a mv too, another song "rocky" is also pretty good, the music video is so cool hongjoong directed it himself if I'm not wrong. If you're thinking of discovering more of their older songs, there's "illusion" what else.

I find it really interesting how you manage to break down the beats to such small details and sounds, I learn something new every time even though I've listened to these songs probably hundreds of times hahahh
Also how you said the songs often sound like they were made by a committee of people - you are not wrong, as basically all Ateez's discography are produced by the in-house production team in KQ called Edenary. Their main producer is EDEN, with whom there are usually 2-4 other producers participating in the songs. Hongjoong and Mingi mainly have credits in songwriting but we know for a fact that Hongjoong takes part in a lot of the production even though he is not often officially credited for it (which kinda sucks ngl). He actually first got into KQ to become a producer, but the CEO persuaded him into becoming an idol instead. Also recently Seonghwa got his own room in the production studio so we can expect him to take on songwriting in the future!
