It was always a bot front weapon. You can use it against bugs if you adjust your load out around the slugger. You need 1.Gatling turret 2. Eagle napalm 3. Spear 4. Orbital precision/rail strike. If you see birds or hunter patrols plant the Gatling. When britches happen throw them napalm, which will deal with small enemies, and you can finish off the intermediate ones. Take the automatic pistol too and normal grenades as you don’t need stuns with the spear.
@TherealBigblue22 i strongly disagree, but then again the balance team doesn't play on higher difficulties so it's easy to see why the guns are balanced around level 1-6
It's in a much better position then before the buff that's for sure, the dominator does feel more powerful all around but also a lot slower as well in every department

A bit more damage and some concussive force to open doors and such and we're good. The fact it can target medium armor is "nice", but the damage is so low it takes forever to get anywhere, which to me makes it rather pointless. It's a good weapon for bots (most accurate "shotgun" for head shots?), and a niche idea against bugs (stagger mostly), but even so I think those changes would put it in a much better place and make it unique among the shotgun class.

I'm not even monetized yet, not dollar made unfortunately :( I mean, I don't think the weapons crazy good or anything but bringing the stagger effect back defenitly made it a much better and more viable option for something to use without heavily struggling
I saw that video recently and I'm going to start doing that. My only issue is I almost never get close enough to an Impaler let alone right behind one so it may take some time to get use too. Thanks for tip :)

Fighting hordes it doesn't do that well with the single round but against Hive defenders and Alpha Commanders and even stalkers it really shines. I feel like it's a nice balance :)

That sounds like the perfect loadout for it, covers everything from hordes up to bile titans. Nice, very well rounded set up :)
First 3 minutes show why incendiary breaker still King of chaff clearing, set those bugs on fire and keep moving while they burn off
Nothing will beat it in terms of chaff clearing that's for sure

Unless they revert the damage nerf, the Slugger isnt rntirely back. Its just a ammo preserving weaker dominator in my eyes.
Dominator has more ammo.
Less ammo, less damage. But also less drag and faster projectile.
Well if it’s less damage than the jar but saves ammo then it seems like it’s been balanced properly

With the amount of hunters on diff 10, ammo backpack seems luke a must

fire punisher is better against bugs
Oh big time, stagger effect with lots of damage per hit combined with flaming pellets, perfect all around weapon
