Just so it’s clear, superm’s content is actually terrible lol. The dance practices are moving cams and the MV’s get BLOCKED so I had to make do with these choices.
Might do more fancams next time but they usually don’t have great audio so what may seem like “strange choices” I promise it’s for a reason.

I agree with the camera moving so much comment, the more kpop performances you watch the more it stands out. It's very much they tell you where to look all the time instead of letting you watch aspects or performers you want to watch. Makes me almost like some fan cams more because I can watch the performance how I want to not how I'm told to.

She was spot on about Taemin and his head movements, he does it a lot and it adds to his style
The performance on Ellen was a little hard to critique because the stage was really not big enough to showcase their skills. I think Kai chose the best dance to represent their styles for the KaiTaeTen minicam. He really was flowing through his dance. The 100-dance practice always is exciting to watch for their quick movements and the fantastic way they transition throughout the number. I could watch them all for hours and I do. Thank You Ladies & Micah!!
Kai doesn't just go with the flow, he creates it.
Ten is an amazing dancer. I don't think the lighting or camera work helped him. I love all three of them but I feel Ten's performance could have been captured better. Just my opinion.

@@Koko3opyes he said he was busy and didn't have much time to remember the choreo aswell, so maybe it could have been his choice to shorten it too, but who knows
Taemin is my ult, watching him dance just gives me so much pleasure. Its like the feeling I get when I hear a song I love.
However, Kai's was amazing. I wish the three segments could of been more cohesive while still showcasing their different styles.
I think your choices are more than fine. It is fun watching someone discover kpop in a way. Also, I think, having such a variety lets the reactors develop a real sense of who each performer is instead of just cherry picking "the best". I mean she was still able to notice Taemin's head movements.
OT but Spotify is reminding me with their Summer throwback playlist they made me.....Pentagon's Shine. It pretty much got me into Kpop and such a fun song and fun to watch reactions to it. Just curious if youve ever put it in the rotation.

The Ellen stage was actually sung live, however due to them not being able to properly filter out the audience cheers from the vocals, they just basically dubbed the studio audio over it for the sake of posting it online for some reason. Idk. The people who went to the actual showing have clips posted here and there showing that it was in fact live. Kpop editing teams just love their post productions 😅

Unfortunately, this performance of SuperM's "I Can't Stand The Rain" isn't the best example of this song or performance. I love this song and SuperM's live performance of it is amazing, however, the video you watched was a recording from Ellen's talk show, which was posted on Ellen's RUclips Channel. Therefore, I'm pretty sure they muted the sound of the crowd and they edited the footage, by putting the studio recorded audio overtop of the actual live audio, because the sound quality was bad. Which is why you aren't even hearing SuperM's live vocals. They did it so viewers can actually hear the song and enjoy the performance. Because no one wants to watch an official performance video and all they hear is the crowd screaming. Most people come to watch the video to see and hear the performance of the people on stage. :D
However, because this was a U.S. TV show, they didn't really understand the importance of being able hear the live performance, as well as the the audience. I don't think Ellen's sound technicians were prepared for how passionate Kpop fans can be. Therefore, the simplest solution was just to take all the crowd noise out. Which is kind of sad, because you miss something when its not the true performance. If you watched it when it aired live, you would have heard them singing live, but because of the crowd and the poor sound system, I think they weren't sure how to handle it.
Plus, i think "I Can't Stand The Rain" was the second performance after "Jopping," so at that point the audio was completely worn out. LOL As you can hear, they had some "technical difficulties." ;P The space was too small and there were too many crazy passionate fans, so it overwhelmed Ellen's sound system. Usually the sound tech on Ellen's show only needs to be high enough quality to pick up conversations, not amazing vocals and their crazy fans who want to blow the roof off the studio. LOL They weren't prepared to have to do any high tech sound mastering for this performance. :D
But, SuperM is an SM group and one thing that SM Entertainment is known for is live vocals. All of their artists train from day one to build endurance and stamina in order to sing live while performing intense choreography like this and still sound flawless. That is why SM is known as the vocal powerhouse of the industry. All of its artists, even its rappers get intense vocal training. Therefore, I hope you take the time to watch a different version of them performing this song, in order to actually hear their live vocals and see them perform to the highest standard.
Koko3op, there is a new analysis of Taemin's dancing style out done by a professional dancer and it is excellent. It explains so much, and now I understand why Taemin is so different. I knew I was seeing something in him that I didn't see in other dancers and she explains what that something is. As my two ults should be: Mr.Kim Kai and Mr.Byun Baekhyun. Kai's been chosen the best dancer in kpop for years straight for a big reason. Whenever I read that he's stiff... People just don't know he can be as fluid as water, but he chooses to be stiff when it's needed to emphasize a move, and he LOVES to hit with all strength 😊. His musicality and understanding of music are inborn, and I can see the same in Baekhyun, he just hasn't practiced dance since 8 years old for 10 hours every day 😅 but he feels music as much as Kai feels it in his blood and bones, and it's reflected in Baekhyun's emotional singing. Choreographers know that Kai's body is his best instrument, he chooses himself when to be off beat or hit with the beat. All boys of EXO understand art very deeply and everything they do has a purpose and an intention. It's easily seen by people who love art. Kai's been dancing for more than a decade through pain in his back and sometimes feet, but it never showed, he was on top no matter his physical condition, and I'm so proud this boy has eventually created his own style "Kai" which is the best of all styles, from ballet to hip hop. My respect for this hardworking perfectionist is unmeasurable. And Baekhyun's love of dance always shows.

Also, Kai got voted by Idols, not fans, Idols who are trained dancers voted him as the best for 5 straight years so wtf you are even talking!Also, there are many times Kai got chosen by professional choreographers as The best in K-pop, so peanuts like should stfu.
@@blancasmith-us9is well, it goes without saying you're just a hater who knows nothing about Kai's technique. All choreographers see that he chooses when to be fluid, and when to be stiff. It's his personal preference to deliver more powerful masculine moves, it doesn't mean he can't do it. I've seen a few professionals comparing Kai and Taemin in one frame. Kai always wins. He finishes all moves, his body control and total awareness of the angle at which his limbs and body are and the exact knowledge of the amplitude required... Only someone who started learning proper technique very early, at a sensitive age, can have it subconsciously. Kai's finished a dance academy, he's not just a self-taught idol, as, for example, Taemin is. I mean, Tae is talented and hardworking, but Kai's a professional, not an amateur. And other professionals choose him on any day. Only people with no proper experience try to pass their personal preference for an expert opinion. Blind fans of other idols don't see what professionals see

Weird choices for first timer! Maybe should've begin with the members respective groups first or solo stuff to introduce them all then the weird performances by Super M( I understand the content to choose from them is not that great).
If you understand the content to choose from is not that great what would you have recommended seeing as you wrote this after my pinned comment about MVs getting blocked, fancams being bad in terms of audio quality and dance practices being moving cam?
They said in their comment that introducing the members through their original groups (or maybe even solo work imo) would be better. I agree that the SuperM content is limited and also clearly favors certain members more while others get pushed a bit back to not overshadow others. Which is totally fine but will not give someone new to the members a clear and precise picture of what they are capable of imo.
