Hi Saeed. I would expect that to be more automated soon...but the easiest way to do that now is to create a new sketch and then use the Project command to project all the edges to the current sketch. That makes everything available in one sketch, where you can then export it as a DXF (right-click on sketch in Browser > Save as DXF).

Great Tutorials you have in here!!! for some reason i have no option to the arrange view function, am i missing something?? in the manufacturing menu in the view preferences doesnt show neither..
Hi Marko. Both features are now out of preview and are available. however, it is to my understanding that they are currently only available to the commercial subscribers and not to the free personal use license.
@@ProductDesignOnline Yes it is not available to the free user. I've been looking for the option for an hour wondering if I was doing something wrong. Usually feature available only to the paid version are shown with "sparkles" on top of the logo of the feature but not for this one feature.
Arrange feature is even better this year and you can use it from the design workspace if you set a check on the option in preferences. Advanced arrange is getting better every release. #AutodeskEmployee
This nesting feature may turn out to be a game changer for me. Trying to manually layout parts on cut diagram was so time consuming - this is an awesome edition. I don't use Fusion 360 to generate g-code for my Laguna IQ CNC and the bed s limited to 2'x 3' so will need to determine how I can next to smaller plywood or stock - I think I just do multiple sketches and pick which components I want on each sketch - is this accurate? I also still need to figure out the best way to export my parts into Aspire or vCarve Pro. Great work.
what I want to do doesnt seem to apply to this. I have a small part I have designed, a single piece. I have a sheet good I want to lay the part out on, filling the sheet up. is there a way it can do that?
Sry, I'm not following your question. Do you want to transfer dimensions manually onto your plywood? Or looking to layout the dimensions digitally (i.e. 2D Drawing)?
@@ProductDesignOnline Sorry. Say I have a cabinet I have designed and I use the auto arrange tool to arrange it all on a sheet of plywood. I don't have a CNC that will be cutting the material, I will be breaking it down myself. Is there a way for it to auto-generate dimensions on the layout so I can print it out and follow it like a set of plans?
@@rutgis77 thanks for clarifying! Not in the Design workspace, unfortunately. However, the Drawing workspace has a new Automated Drawings feature that can do what you describe (it may not be available on the free Personal use license... I'd have to double check). You can also place the sheet and manually add specific dimensions of you don't want them all for some reason.
I am on the version 2.0.8412 of Fusion360 (Education License). I assumed the upgrade was automatic. Should I perform any procedure to get the version upgrade in order to use the Arrange feature?
Nesting - loved the video, read all the comments, but still having a question if there is a way to create drawing out of that flat layout without converting any DXF to DWG and useing any 2d soft.
Hi Rainer. You simply need to project all of the desired bodies (Edges) into a single sketch using the "Project" command. You can then right-click on that sketch in the Browser and save as a DXF. Hope that helps! :)
@@ProductDesignOnline Thank you so much for your answer. Ican get the DXF file out of arranged layout. That is fine but what I need for my job is actually a drawing of arranged parts. Just a simple top view with dimensions of details I need to cut in PDF file. The board material we use is cut on the simple table saw and we just need to print out the drawing guide for the people who do the job.
Once you arrange everything, can you export as EPS to send out to a cnc shop for them to cut? I don't know which machine they will use, they just asked me to have it arranged inside a specific area with spacing. Also, once you've arranged can you get a sketch version?
Nest! If I have only 1 Sheetmetal part in design can I move to manufacturing space and just type in how many of those items I want to nest and will it generate the multiple part DXF file that can be exported to my laser?
With the Arrange feature, there currently is not a way to do so. However, the advanced 'Nesting' features available in the Manufacture workspace > Fabrication do allow this. Some of those features are still in preview/beta though.
@@ProductDesignOnline No worries, thanks for getting back to me. Another question is what process would you use to export your arranged layout (with sheet included) to a DWG/DXF to send to a manufacturer given the multiple bodies? Cheers.
@@jamesrobertsonirvine This depends on what license you're on. Are you on the free personal use license? If so, the easiest thing to do is create a new sketch and then use the 'Project' command to project the face of each 3d body into that sketch. @@ProductDesignOnline thanks again for the swift reply. The workflow you've mentioned above is how I currently am doing it I just thought I'd check if there was single command after the arrangement command had been hit. I do also have a paid license, does that give you further options? Cheers.

I had to do this to get the "Manufacturing model": Preview Features -> Manufacturing Working Model. Restart Fusion. But I don't have the option for "Arrange Feature" and there is no Modify->Arrange menu item in the Manufacturing model workspace. I have Fusion 360 2.0.9011.

Unfortunately, Arrange is not available on the free license. I recommend using MapBoards Pro add-in as an alternative - ruclips.net/video/BmuxxvIU2XA/видео.html
Great feature! I think I ran into a snag... when you create a manufacturing model it seems to be a snapshot in time. When I do a bunch of alterations (arrange parts and create tool paths) I notice that the manufacturing models don't update when changes are made in the design model. Did I miss something? I cannot find an "update out of date models" of sorts in the manufacturing environment...!!! Help!
Kevin, as always Great Vids.... but still having problems downloading Demo files, The Download Button still seems to be missing when I click on the Demo File Link. I am sure I am not the only one having this recurring problem???
Hi Kyra. It has been taken out of the preview in his officially released now. you should now see it in the create drop down menu while in the manufacturer workspace.
The feature is now available in is no longer in preview mode. However, I believe the feature is now only available two commercial users and is not available on the free Personal use license at this time.
@@ProductDesignOnline is there any other options available to use on the free version? I know it won’t be as simple but just wondering what other options you would recommend.
Great video Kevin. However, for us mere mortals who don't have CNC machines and have to cut "wood" with saws, is there any way of creating a drawing of the layout? Or do you have to manually place the parts on a separate design and then create a drawing from that? Thanks, keep up the good work :)
Figured out a way to do it. Very convoluted though. Create a new component in the manufacturing space, start a sketch, project layout onto sketch. Copy the component projections to a new assembly sketch on a new sheet. Extrude projections and create a drawing. Hope it makes sense, I'm a relative newby. Hope your way is easier 😀.
Kevin, I appreciate your videos! I am really excited about this feature as I do a lot of work on the CNC with plywood. However, I'm having trouble with the arrange window not showing up after clicking the arrange feature. The components have the directional arrow, but there is no window to edit the pieces.. Do you know what I missed? Reasonably, not much yet out there on the web about trouble shooting this feature. Thanks in advance.
Hi Eric. Since the feature is still in "Preview" it is quite possible that it's a bug. The first thing I would do is reset your view, especially if you use Fusion 360 with an external monitor. Under the View drop-down > Reset to Default Layout
Also another question Kevin: is it possible to manually arrange/nest components? If not, I am guessing that it might be a feature that could be rolled out when the full operation comes online. Thanks!
Yeah, it's unfortunate. I recommend the MapBoards Pro add-in for those on the Personal Use license. It's a great alternative and works well. I have a video on it here (using the same. demo file for comparison): ruclips.net/video/BmuxxvIU2XA/видео.htmlsi=kDxreTIbbl2ysHDS
Can someone confirm that this is part of the full version of fusion 360 and not the the nesting extension? I know that nesting extension offers a lot more features but I don't know if I have to purchase the extension for it to work
Arrange is available with the Commercial Fusion 360 *Without* the Nest Extension. Advanced Arrange (confusing, yes, but different from Arrange) is only available with the Nest Extension :) None of it is included in the free personal use license.
Kevin let me re define my question, I have a simple 2d part it measures approx 6" x 6" x 1" thick, How can I apply them in multiple times on a stock sheet to cut them out. Thanks
After creating your Manufacture Model you can copy/paste them in the Browser. Just make sure you enable the Manufacture Model preview and go that route as that will ensure you don't affect the original design models in the Design workspace.
Hi, can i input the quantity i want for each component when nesting? This way I would know how many sheets are needed for mass production of components Thanks :)
Since Arrange is disabled in the Personal License, what is the best practice currently for Personal users to move the stool's components into a flat stock for Manufacturing?
If you plan on doing it a lot then this addin is worth the 1 time cost: apps.autodesk.com/FUSION/en/Detail/Index?id=3399489440307590024&appLang=en&os=Win64 Otherwise, you can use the Align command or Joints depending on how many parts you have/whether you want to be precise about the placement.
Hi Kevin, do you know if your tutorial still applies to the latest version (2.0.9009)? I have the same problem as @vinay dhondiyal - can't find the Arrange feature, and I can't create a manufacturing model. Has Autodesk removed this functionality for the hobbyist license do you know?
Good question, Robert! As far as I know, Slicer was deprecated and they haven't done anything to it for over a year. I could definitely see that tech being brought into F360, as many parts of F360 were brought in from other Autodesk tools. :)
I tried to Arrange using only bodies. In the dialog box it asks "select objects" and it would only allow 1 body............ I converted all the bodies to components and then it would allow as many components as I wanted to select. For some reason it doesn't work with bodies.
I have the latest Personal Fusion 360 license and Arrange appears under Modify but is disabled all though Simplify is not. If I click on Arrange I get the following message: "Available with a paid Subscription of Fusion 360". Am I doing something wrong or is this the new reality?
I asked Autodesk the above question and they confirmed the new policy for a Personal license is NO ARRANGE: "Hi - Yes, that's right. Arrange is a subscription-only capability. Jeff" So future tutorials for Personal Licenses will be confusing if you continue to add Arrange to your new CAM videos.
Hi Steve. Thanks for sharing this. It's unfortunate - as it was included in the Personal license when I recorded this lesson, but they removed it with the other changes. I wish they would include the basic Arrange and keep the Advanced Arrange and Nest Extension to Commercial users (I'll keep fighting for that anyway).
Which license are you on? It's unfortunately not available for free/Personal Use license. Note: You do not have to enable it in Preview mode as seen in this video. It's included in the latest build.

Nesting
Great Video
NEST? Yes!
today only i got your RUclips wonderful work your doing..
NEST for sure
there is no arrange feature?
Arrange feature is even better this year and you can use it from the design workspace if you set a check on the option in preferences. Advanced arrange is getting better every release. #AutodeskEmployee
Finally! Yes... NEST
Please can you do a video on 3D printed tripods that are adjustable and also maybe foldable so you can make it longer and shorter
Hello, it`s a perfect feature, however I can`t find the "manufacturing working modul" in my preferences. I have 2.0.9305 version of my Fusion 360.
Hi Maxim. The future is no longer in preview and is now available in the regular Manufacture workspace.
Nest. Is it possible to unroll surfaces here? Like a lofted surface I want unroll to flat material and cut.
NEST, thanks Kevin
If this could integrate with the Shaper Origins router, this could be a game changer for woodworkers with big bugets
Nest💪🏼
Make more videos on gears and automobile parts, please
I dont have a CNC but this would be nice for cutting my parts from plywood. How can I get dimension on the sheets?
Would this also work if you made a winch en want to 3D print it?
Are you using a space mouse?
Dont see how to download the model??
It seems the arrange feature is not available in the free version, right?
That is correct, unfortunately Arrange (feature) is not available with the free personal use license.
how would i design springs and compliant mechanisms in fusion?
I am on the version 2.0.8412 of Fusion360 (Education License). I assumed the upgrade was automatic. Should I perform any procedure to get the version upgrade in order to use the Arrange feature?
Do you know if there’s any plan to add dog bones to this feature?
How do you print the arranged parts sheet with dimensions?
NEST, is there a way to orient the texture mapping along an axis?
You can save as a DXF file but would have to convert the DXF to EPS in another program. Fusion doesn't work with EPS, as those are vector files.
gracias capo!!!!
Nest! If I have only 1 Sheetmetal part in design can I move to manufacturing space and just type in how many of those items I want to nest and will it generate the multiple part DXF file that can be exported to my laser?
Is there a way to arrange across multiple sheets if your components can't all fit on a single sheet?
You then have everything in 1 single sketch and can right-click on it in the Browser > select Save as DXF.
@@ProductDesignOnline thanks again for the swift reply. The workflow you've mentioned above is how I currently am doing it I just thought I'd check if there was single command after the arrangement command had been hit. I do also have a paid license, does that give you further options? Cheers.
@@jamesrobertsonirvine Yep, there are some better ways if you're on the Commercial license.
Hi Thomas. Are you on the Personal Use license? I just found out earlier this week that the Arrange feature is currently not available for Personal Use license.
@@ProductDesignOnline Yes I am. That explains why. Thank you.
@@ProductDesignOnline fml :D
Is this feature available in Hobby license (Personal) ? I cant update form my 2.0.10940 to 2.0.8749 as You have suggested.
Unfortunately, Arrange is not available on the free license. I recommend using MapBoards Pro add-in as an alternative - ruclips.net/video/BmuxxvIU2XA/видео.html
@@ProductDesignOnline thank you for your answer and many pieces of advice.
Help!

Nest for laser cutter
Kevin, as always Great Vids.... but still having problems downloading Demo files, The Download Button still seems to be missing when I click on the Demo File Link. I am sure I am not the only one having this recurring problem???
I have version 2.0.9144 but I don't have the option to turn on "Manufacturing Working Model". has this feature since been removed?
Hi Kyra. It has been taken out of the preview in his officially released now. you should now see it in the create drop down menu while in the manufacturer workspace.
Haha oops. Great thank you!
Did something happen to this feature? I cant seem to find arrange nor do I see it in the preview box?
The feature is now available in is no longer in preview mode. However, I believe the feature is now only available two commercial users and is not available on the free Personal use license at this time.
@@ProductDesignOnline Fusion isn't working well anymore if you have a personal licence. SO FRUSTRATING!!!
Hi Damion. Hoping to do a video on that soon!
Thanks for watching :)
@@ProductDesignOnline dude! holy smokes, that worked! Thank you
Also another question Kevin: is it possible to manually arrange/nest components? If not, I am guessing that it might be a feature that could be rolled out when the full operation comes online. Thanks!
@@erickillian8470 You would have to use the Move tool to manually position each component. Otherwise, there is definitely more to come!
It seems that the Arrange functionality is only available in the paid version. Nesting is essential for CNC operation.
Advanced Arrange (confusing, yes, but different from Arrange) is only available with the Nest Extension :)
None of it is included in the free personal use license.
This way I would know how many sheets are needed for mass production of components
Thanks :)
Hi Don. You cannot do that with this Arrange feature... but I do suspect that will be an option with the full-on Nest Workspace :)
@@ProductDesignOnline Thanks!
Looking forward to the nest workspace then.
This arrange feature is definitely a big help. :)
How do I specify a .5 inch 4x8 foot plywood sheet and set up the routing paths? Another follow-on video would be great.
You will want to set up your routing paths in the Manufacture workspace. I'll will be doing a lot of CAM content later this year :)
Since Arrange is disabled in the Personal License, what is the best practice currently for Personal users to move the stool's components into a flat stock for Manufacturing?
If you plan on doing it a lot then this addin is worth the 1 time cost: apps.autodesk.com/FUSION/en/Detail/Index?id=3399489440307590024&appLang=en&os=Win64
Otherwise, you can use the Align command or Joints depending on how many parts you have/whether you want to be precise about the placement.
It should still be available for the hobbyists license. did you enable it under your preferences and the preview options?
NEST please - I wonder if this will be put in the slicer program, or are they incorporating that into the Fusion main program
I asked Autodesk the above question and they confirmed the new policy for a Personal license is NO ARRANGE:
"Hi - Yes, that's right. Arrange is a subscription-only capability. Jeff"
So future tutorials for Personal Licenses will be confusing if you continue to add Arrange to your new CAM videos.
The arrange feature doesn't appear to be available anymore
Which license are you on? It's unfortunately not available for free/Personal Use license.
Note: You do not have to enable it in Preview mode as seen in this video. It's included in the latest build.
