This is still my all time favorite RUclips video. I've probably watched it every day for the last 8 years.. no kidding.. just the rain, the monorail, all of it is the most relaxing. It's how I typically start my day. Thanks for uploading it all those years ago.
Oddly, one of my favorite parts about going to WDW is a rainstorm or two (or quick rain showers once in a while). Maybe because I don't mind sitting inside (i.e. Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian, Harbor House, etc...) and just relaxing as the rain goes outside. To me it's not the same without some rain in WDW.
Agree, I loved walking in the light rain with my kids at Universal. And the occasional downpour under some protection is even better. I have never been in WDW while there was any heavy rain
This is the most relaxing video on RUclips. I've seen it about 4 times in a row. I haven't been to Disney World in 3 years now and I'm finally going again this summer, I can't wait for the rainy afternoons so I can ride the monorail, and I'll also be going with my parents and sisters so it'll feel like the good ole days. This will also be my niece and nephew's first Disney World trip.
Awesome, my first visit to WDW as 1979 with my parents. I knew then they wore not likely to ever return and they didn't. The next time I returned to WDW was 1994 with my wife and kids. I would return 6 more times the last being 2014. All have been great except the long lines. I wish I could have gone back at least 1 more time with my parents.
This was a great video to watch. And to be honest, I've watched this several times over the last year. There's something so relaxing and meditative about it. It's encouraging to see that, despite the intense Florida weather, the monorail system and all surrounding buildings remain fully operational.
the absolutely best time to ride the monorail and hit the parks if you don't mind water. many rides are indoors and people are afraid to walk the Florida rains. but is the best times to get everything done.
That's crazy!! It's like you're under a waterfall! The rain just keeps coming! What a miserable day to be out in the park with photo gear--Thank you so much for being brave and going out into the elements!!
I'm putting together 2 new videos using older rain footage from WDW and I'm going to do my best to try to record some in the future. One should be up today. It's an hour loop of this video with a slightly different and longer intro. I tried to improve the sound and after the first loop it skips the part where there were other passengers onboard talking loudly.
I have probably watched this 200 times in the last couple of years. I don't even know why. So relaxing. On the only occasion I went I wished I could have just spent the day riding round on it and looking at everything, no hurry, etc.
It starts out as a yawner, but stay with the video, guys…or jump to the last segment. The wind and rain is downright FREAKY. Makes the whole video worth it.
Storms are so soothing to me . I would have stretched out on that bench and went to sleep and road the montail round and round until they kicked me off lol .
What an awesome video. I Am not a fan of rain anywhere else, but for some reason I do not mind it when I am there. Thank you for posting this very relaxing video !!
Great Video. I love all the Disney theme parks, but Walt Disney World is my favourite. I was there back in 2008. This is the monorail track that rings the Seven seas lagoon. Awesome Thunder storms too. I remember in July 08 it rained like crazy. Xx
That was such an interesting video. I loved the storm and the rain. I wouldn't have gotten out though. Would have gone back to the Contemporary. Thanks for thinking of making this video. You are very clever.
looks like fun, just returned from DW last week, it was the most beautiful i had ever seen an august week. low temps, low humidity and it only rained twice in 8 days. but the rain is great cause the parks clear out....
The day it rained while I was there, Hotels and monorail was the place to be. I did go to the Magic Kingdom and was inside a lot there too. But a wet day at Disney was a whole lot better than a good day at work!
oh wow! I will be returning to this video every time I'm feeling sad or anxious... Its a multi comfort thing as Florida is my home state, I Love and miss the crazy rainstorms there. Also HUGE Disney fan, so nostalgia and comfort all combined. Thanks for this!!
10:44, holy crap. lol, surprised the thing would still be operating. And I'm also surprised it's not packed with people leaving the parks and trying to get back to their resorts.
I love this, I watch it all the time with my big screen computer screen and head sets with a cocktail and a few puffs. Why in the hell did you get off, I'd watch it go around and around and around the whole park
What I would give to be in the Contemporary on a day like this. I love rain storms and looking out while dining at one of the restaurants or cuddled up in a room would be fun.
I was on a similar ride on the monorail to epcot in Feb 2012.The rain and wind were so fierce I thought we were going to be blown off the track. To make matters worse my daughter and I had reservations at the French restaurant in Epcot and only 20 minutes to get there.Luckily the rain stopped and we were only 10 minutes late. They honored our reservations.
Best vid out there for the monorail deluge experience. It's really a fantastic Florida thunderstorm, glad you were inside. By the way, it looks like 2.47 inches of rain fell in Orlando on June 8th, 2013, just about all between 3-5PM; It looks like there was even more at Disney world by the looks of this vid.
I got to sit up front back in 1973 as a child, i remember the pilots had these neat batting helmet type hats that were blue. I guess those days are gone now
I was thinking about what I would do on a day like this at Disney. Decided I would do just what you are doing only get off at each resort on the loop, and enjoy the sights and sounds
It must have been so relaxing being the only person in the car, so you don't have to listen to tons of chatter you don't want to hear and just relax from the sound of the rain :)
hello all, I live in a very hot and little rain, but that every time I go to disney florida and rain touches me, is a great visual feast for me and I see that all people have fun despite the rain, sorry my english hola a todos , yo vivo en un lugar muy caliente y que poco llueve , haci que cada vez que voy a disney florida y me toca llover , es una gran fiesta visual para mi y veo que toda la gente se divierte a pesar de la lluvia
You should do a video of riding the monorail during a thunderstorm at night, when lightning is insane. My first trip in 2009, the lightning went across the sky like tree roots for miles. It was so bad they had to stop the monorail. memories:)
My first visit to WDW as 1979 with my parents. I knew then they wore not likely to ever return and they didn't. The next time I returned to WDW was 1994 with my wife and kids. I love your Florida videos even ones likes this with the rain, we were caught in this very storm at Blizzard Beach on our last trip to Florida and I watch it often. The park videos bring back wonderful memories and I found the driving videos especially useful in the run up to our last holiday as I hadn't driven on my previous trips to Orlando so I watched those a number of times as I was apprehensive about driving in America. We are planning another trip for 2016 and are looking to stay at Vista Cay by Millennium I don't know if you ever pass that way but if you do I would love to see some driving videos from there to any of the Disney Parks, Universal or Downtown Disney.
Great video.......love looking at the monorail journey, 3 years since i've been on that. Don't miss that rain though. Although we have had our fair share recently in the UK, nothing like that!
I've created a 1 hour loop of this video. Available here: ruclips.net/video/mRqY5JOmgtc/видео.html
I could ride the monorail in the rain for hours.
So relaxing
I can too. I love the rain. Maybe if we mention it too the imagineers they can make a ride that simulates rain lol.
I could ride it rain or shine all day and night
Same here
A rainy day at Disney World is better than a dry day almost anywhere else!
cant wait for when I can come back down to there and enjoy a real good vacation
I must have watched this a hundred times already. It's so relaxing.
You might as well make it 101 times.
This is still my all time favorite RUclips video. I've probably watched it every day for the last 8 years.. no kidding.. just the rain, the monorail, all of it is the most relaxing. It's how I typically start my day. Thanks for uploading it all those years ago.

blueboxdoctor couldn’t agree more really soothing I enjoy it

Rain is ok, but I love the Florida sunshine.

agreed
@@beamdoctor5637 We always forget about the things we miss from our childhood…until there’s no way to go back. 😰

This is seriously my perfect video! It combines my two favorite things - Disney and the relaxing white noise of heavy rain :)
I would *love* to just ride back and forth on the Monorail on a stormy day like that :)
I would too. I wonder what it would be like during a tornado.
It would be deadly but fun
this video gives me so much comfort, i am glad it exists. a re-enactment on another stormy disney day would be absolutely perfect

video is going live in about 20 minutes: ruclips.net/video/mRqY5JOmgtc/видео.html
I love the rain, i wish there was more of it in California.
florida storms are the best, listen to that thunder
I love it when the doors close and the rain is muffled by the door talk about relaxing I love ☔️ days like this so cozy
I never get tired of watching this video.
This is one of my favorite videos! It's so relaxing. What a wonderful gift you give by sharing these. Sending you happy thoughts!!
Me too! I 'm from SoCal and get so excited when it rains even if it ends up just being a few sprinkles:-)
I have watched this video since about 2013, so relaxing and as a disney fan, I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have probably watched this 200 times in the last couple of years. I don't even know why. So relaxing. On the only occasion I went I wished I could have just spent the day riding round on it and looking at everything, no hurry, etc.
I hear the sound of falling rain. Wonderful video..Truely.
Wow - this video is AMAZING! Love the rain - and the utter desolation of a place that’s usually overflowing with the masses.
I'd prefer this over driving thru my home town with full on sunshine anytime. Great video!
Over 12 minutes of the Storm, Heavy Rain day for sure.
I have watched this too many time to count. It's my favorite ride in the park, a bowl in one hand drink in the other and you'll never get me off

What an awesome video. I Am not a fan of rain anywhere else, but for some reason I do not mind it when I am there. Thank you for posting this very relaxing video !!
Florida is awesome even when it rains!!!!
still rewatching this everyday
The monorail is the perfect place to be during a monsoon. I’d just ride it until the rain stops.
love this. I'd have just ridden until the rain stopped.....
I've watched this about 30 times..never gets boring
The announcers for the Walt Disney World monorail service have such pleasant voices.
Great Video. I love all the Disney theme parks, but Walt Disney World is my favourite. I was there back in 2008. This is the monorail track that rings the Seven seas lagoon. Awesome Thunder storms too. I remember in July 08 it rained like crazy. Xx

i love this so much im sobbing

So cozy! I'm just remembering that the little boy I sat next to in the monorail with his mother is now about 35years old!🌨☔️⌛️⏳
I liked watching your video, the rain and thunder gives a different perspective
well that is the best part of disney world if it is raining and you dont want to go into the parks in the rain just take a ride on the monorail
Wow, no $15 poncho is going to protect you from that. Thanks for another great video.
The day it rained while I was there, Hotels and monorail was the place to be. I did go to the Magic Kingdom and was inside a lot there too. But a wet day at Disney was a whole lot better than a good day at work!
Happy days. Rain normally shifts after an hour or so, but it's still the best holiday destination in the world
been a long time watcher and ex Castmember. No matter what you shoot and post just makes me smile and makes me remember back to my 20's!
I am a former WDW Monorail driver. I drove the Mark IV and the Mark VI. These are the Mark VI
+Randy Dunn What conditions did they stop running the monorail in, since this seems pretty bad, yet they are still running it.
There seemed to be both in this video and it is still going.
Ah, that makes sense
+Joshua M we don't shutdown, unless it's a hurricane really
Thanks for the info! Seemed like this was pretty bad, was surprised to see them still up and running!
Getting ready to hunker down from the effects of Tropical Storm Debby for the day so I had to throw on the all-timer rainy day jam
oh wow! I will be returning to this video every time I'm feeling sad or anxious... Its a multi comfort thing as Florida is my home state, I Love and miss the crazy rainstorms there. Also HUGE Disney fan, so nostalgia and comfort all combined. Thanks for this!!
I was at disney world back in 2011 and the long i seen it last is just up to two or three hours enough to cool thing down a hair
Cactus sent me…and, I am grateful.
This actually makes me nostalgic, lol! This is much more typical than a completely clear, "sunshine-y day"! :)
10:44, holy crap. lol, surprised the thing would still be operating. And I'm also surprised it's not packed with people leaving the parks and trying to get back to their resorts.
I've seen this video listed for awhile and haven't watched. I just did, it is an absolutely fantastic video!!!
This is honestly so relaxing 😌
Ah 2013…. What a simpler time
that was strangly relaxing
I remembered that we used to be able to front with the operator
OMG, this is freaking awesome! I wish I was there, but, I'm so glad you shared it! 💗
🌵 Cactus sent me
Wow..... I bet that was a real experience riding the monorail in the storm. you so lucky!
Thanks again for sharing.
A rainy day at WDW beats any day in New York!
Row, row, row your monorail. Merrily, merrily. Trip was but a dream.
Wow what a storm. I love this video. I love raining. Hurricane Season has arrived 2 our world.
Awesome. You had the whole compartment to yourself.
It's a miracle all these people got on the monorail. :D
i would just ride the monorail all day ;)
Thunderstorms in Florida last about 30 minutes
I was on a similar ride on the monorail to epcot in Feb 2012.The rain and wind were so fierce I thought we were going to be blown off the track. To make matters worse my daughter and I had reservations at the French restaurant in Epcot and only 20 minutes to get there.Luckily the rain stopped and we were only 10 minutes late. They honored our reservations.
Love the torrential rain!.
Hope it does not rain this much next week when I arrive. Great video popsong...

I Love The Disney Monorail
I watch/listen to this to go to sleep a lot.
I swear getting a wdw annual pass is a bucketlist item and then driving round on the monorail for a full day
I was thinking about what I would do on a day like this at Disney. Decided I would do just what you are doing only get off at each resort on the loop, and enjoy the sights and sounds
This is the spice. 👌
It must have been so relaxing being the only person in the car, so you don't have to listen to tons of chatter you don't want to hear and just relax from the sound of the rain :)
hello all, I live in a very hot and little rain, but that every time I go to disney florida and rain touches me, is a great visual feast for me and I see that all people have fun despite the rain, sorry my english
hola a todos , yo vivo en un lugar muy caliente y que poco llueve , haci que cada vez que voy a disney florida y me toca llover , es una gran fiesta visual para mi y veo que toda la gente se divierte a pesar de la lluvia
Glad all y'all got was rain feeder bands when the TS went ashore, But lived, worked there and that enough!
It’s good to know how safe you are :)
I had just left days before . We had some rain but nothing like this!
You should do a video of riding the monorail during a thunderstorm at night, when lightning is insane. My first trip in 2009, the lightning went across the sky like tree roots for miles. It was so bad they had to stop the monorail. memories:)
Great Video, can you try and do one on the trams when its down pouring
God I miss those heavy summer storms in Florida.
Love this video
A masterpriece!! Love it!!!😃

This reminds me when the monorail I was on was stuck on the Epcot line because the one currently in the station lost power due to the rain.
Hate to be at Disney on a day like this and get caught in if. I would love to just ride the monorail until it passed.
Welcome to the sunshine state :)

I know there's lots of rain and thunderstorms going on right now in Florida, maybe you could reenact this in 2022?
For a Californian this looks like about a year's worth of rain in a monorail ride! I guess you all are used to it out there.
