I was inspired and bought one ! My rig has a 100-gal tank (55k sf yard), a hose reel, and another 100' section of 3/8" hose. Hooked up a Lesco gun with a quick-connect. Built a platform on a pull-behind flat-trailer. The whole rig works great ! I was using a 25-gal tow-behind that I had to fill 5 times to do everything. This will save me so much time. Thank you for posting this !
@@TurfCulture I'm esp excited to see you mix granular fertilizer with water to spray it - tbh didnt think you could do that, but i'm gonna try it, although i use 3-4 40 pound bags lol. The lesco gun is great ! it looks cheap but feels real solid and has a great spray pattern, I tried the green (3 gpm) tip - wasnt a good spray pattern, too weak, the yellow (2 gpm) tip works perfect !
Turn the reel so it faces the direction of pull and it will unspool for you. 😊 Slick setup. My backpack took a dump this season and this looks nicer than having to refill.
You said look at the description below in your reply to me but there was nothing below!! Could you ask the company if they sell the reel separately for me?
I just bought one. $790 for one just like yours with the spray gun. The base model is even cheaper. Not sure if it's a Black Friday thing or what. Ordered it Tuesday and it showed up this morning. My winter project now is figuring out a mounting system for my Gorilla Cart. I'm chomping at the bit to see how it works on my 16K lawn.
Hello, we have 40-50 ft tall trees in the backyard, infested with caterpillars. How vertically high up can this sprayer possibly reach? Is there a cheaper one with about the same vertical reach? Many thanks.
This is nice but from a cost perspective it may be acceptable for a landscape business. Also, a minor observation, you need to let the reel roll out in the same direction of the hose travel.
A spray rig for commercial use starts around $3k. This unit is a pretty good option for folks with large yards that would otherwise have to buy a ride on.
Should check out GCI turf spray buddy. His is all made in the USA. He literally just made a a professional skid sprayer just miniature version. Built in agitator run on either 20vdc battery or 120vac. He has several different models. Comes with Hanay reel super high quality
Nice Video. Could you please let me know what size of quick connect you use? I will replace the gun with a pressure washer gun M22. I am starting weed control and just bought the unit. Thanks
How much triple 20 did you use for your application. I think you said it was a 6k lawn, but didnt hear how much of the peters triple 20 you used. This is a great little set up for maintaining up to half an acre or so. I have that same motor and pump that is used on a backpack set up. I combine that with a walking boom. It works well, but as you can imagine, its a heavy set up to be wearing and spraying with. FYI.....you could add an inline regulator to get the pressures down and reduce a lot of the drift. (if your going ot be spraying herbicides.).
Curious about the tank size. In the video you said 12 gallons but the link takes you to Amazon where it is saying it is 20 gallons. Can you confirm the size please?
Think about adding weed control and fertilizer to next years services to my roughly 35 weekly yard clients. Would you recommend a setup like this or a backpack sprayer? I currently have the typhoon I use on my property and seems like I have to fill it up about three times and gets alittle annoying considering I have about 5k square footage

That’s awesome! These little rigs are excellent for continuous spray on big properties. How do you like the Lesco gun?

I’m a commercial applicator , I have the same one , works awesome , much better than the big pest rigs , bigger is not always better
Only wish the hose was longer than 100'
That's a pretty neat little setup! Thanks for sharing this.
Would be a good unit for your place
Pretty slick setup
This is exactly what I was thinking of buying this for!
Thanks for sharing!
Looks like it would be an excellent choice for Soft Washing as long as the components can handle bleach!! nice video :)
The pump is brass so it should hold up very well!
Turn the reel so it faces the direction of pull and it will unspool for you. 😊

For larger properties, absolutely you can move 100 linear feat in either direction and not have to refill with an appropriately sized tank.
You said look at the description below in your reply to me but there was nothing below!! Could you ask the company if they sell the reel separately for me?
it does not appear that they sell the reel separately, you may be able to find a similar part on Ebay or another parts wholesale site.

This tank will fit inside of a gorilla cart www.solutionsstores.com/25-gallon-low-profile-pesticide-tank

This is about as affordable as they come.
@@TurfCulture Thank you for replying. How high vertically can it possibly spray?
Super sweet! Do you see any reason why someone couldn’t add on more hose to double the length?
Yes you definitely could, Tomahawk also sells a larger diameter 1/2” hose as an upgrade option.
Nice setup and thanks for sharing the details. I see you used 2 gallons/ 1000 sqft with 0.5 lb N / 1000 effectively ?
That is correct! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thanks for the video. What hose ID is this unit running?
3/8 inside diameter. Thanks for watching!
Ingenious setup.
Can you tell me the name of the reel and where can I buy it!
The company is Tomahawk. They have an awesome price at the moment. I bought one last week for $790. Must be a black Friday deal or something.
Not sure you can buy the reel on it's own, however you can find more information on that in the description below.

I’ve seen them, very high quality and Pete does great work. Very high barrier of entry for most people in my opinion.

M22 👍🏻

The amount of 20-20-20 really all depends on how much nitrogen you want. 7.5 lbs total gets me .25lb of N.

I used 12 gallons but would recommend going bigger which is what I ended up doing.
What is the size of the red hose going into ball valve ? My tank didn't come with ball valve so trying to figure out sizing so I get right parts.
The fed hose is 3/4” Id

I started my business with a backpack sprayer and a spreader.
Do you run it at full throttle?
I run it just under full throttle and use the pressure valve to adjust PSI where I need it.
Can you hook this up to a water hose?
No.
Is your spray gun a flowzone gun?
Yes
Can you run bleach through it
Yes
Why not just spray to the side of you while you walk instead of walking through the chemical mist as you’re spraying
You are going to walk through it no matter how you slice it.
